On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Scott and I are in-studio tonight with his three brothers and special guest, Jake AKA: Texas Toast on Twitter! We talk about early Husker memories, what it's like seeing a game at Memorial Stadium when you know the team is good, and of course the game itself.
The defense was a little bit leaky, especially on 3rd down, while the offense was efficient and prolific, leading to zero punts by Brian Buschini and a comfortable win.
Then we turn our attention to next Friday's contest versus the Illini of Illinois, complete with stat comparisons and score predictions.

Introducing Survival of the Fittest... or the Kindest? from The Happiness Lab with Dr. Laurie Santos.
Follow the show: The Happiness Lab with Dr. Laurie Santos
Some people think they need to be ruthless and selfish to thrive and survive in life. The theories of Charles Darwin are often wrongly interpreted to support this view that being competitive is the key to happiness and success. It isn’t.
Dr Laurie Santos and Dr Jamil Zaki find that there are plenty of examples in the animal kingdom and human world where cooperation, kindness and compassion prove to be the winning strategy.
Jamil's book Hope for Cynics: The Surprising Science of Human Goodness is out now.

On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Scott and Ken recap the altogether enjoyable 28-10 beatdown of the Buffaloes, which should have and could have been worse...much worse. But they're pretty sure the refs couldn't get any worse. It was almost as if they may have had money on something...like the total points over/under, maybe?
However, I don't think anybody had an over/under for broken bones...which were 2. Both CU players. And of course, Rolex the Rapper left the field with 2 minutes to go. What a bad sport!
Anyway, the boys use a new approach and recap the game by presenting Three Takeaways each, and intersperse the latest clips from Coach BA's Breakdown. Being 2-0 feels incredible. Being 2-0 after beating the Vermin feels incredible times infinity.
At the end, they share a quick preview of UNI.

On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Scott and Ken are joined in-studio by three very special guests: Ken's wife, Wanda and his cousin Janelle and her husband Chuck, who are visiting Nebraska for the first time. Supposed Penn State fans, Chuck and Janelle were in Memorial Stadium Saturday afternoon for their very first major college football game. We talk with them both about their experience and then turn our attention to the game.
Dylan Raiola shined in his debut as the Huskers' starting QB, and the Blackshirts shut the Miners offense down after one quick strike drive to propel the Big Red to their very first opening week win since 2019. In fact it was also the first opening week at home since then as well.
We also debut a brand new segment on the show called Coach BA's Breakdown, where Coach Ben Aude, host of the BA Coach's Show breaks down two plays from Saturday's game: one on offense, and one on defense.

On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Scott and Ken welcome back Justin Adams from the Nebraska Football channel at the Voice of College Football on YouTube. After the usual ad reads and general podcast housekeeping, Justin updates the Generation Red audience with the latest in recruiting…namely, the recent commitment from Isaiah Mozee, and supremely talented wide receiver from Missouri, who’s father Jamal was recently added to the offensive staff. What implications - if any - could this flip of a highly touted Oregon commit mean for the likes of David Sanders, Jr? Or Michael Terry, now that Texas has landed their #1 target at receiver?
After that, it was time for the main topic; where based purely on speculation and the players getting the most buzz early in Fall Camp, the boys have a good time predicting the starters for the revamped Husker offense and their legacy quarterback, Dylan Raiola. The boys’ picks rarely differed, and there was great peace and tranquility in the Realm of the Red. Then they shifted their focus to the Blackshirts, which featured a lot of different opinions on who should be awarded the coveted practice jerseys..

On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Coach Ben Aude from The BA Coach's Show joins Ken in the studio, while Scott remotes in from his house to discuss some comments made by Dylan Raiola at the media session on Friday. Then Coach BA and I react to what we saw at the Big Red Preview open practice on Saturday night, which raised about 100,000 dollars for the 1890 NIL Initiative.

Introducing Celebrating MTV’s Anniversary with the Real Story of MTV from Math & Magic: Stories from the Frontiers of Marketing with Bob Pittman.
Follow the show: Math & Magic: Stories from the Frontiers of Marketing with Bob Pittman
In honor of the 43rd anniversary of MTV, we’re rereleasing a classic episode: the real story of MTV, as told by the founders. Today MTV is a cultural institution, but people forget what a long shot it was to get the channel off the ground. Bob Pittman led the team that created MTV. In this special episode, he reminisces with co-founders and friends John Sykes, Judy McGrath, Fred Seibert, Tom Freston and Jarl Mohn about what it was like to create the '80s version of a start-up and lead a TV revolution by dreaming up the rules as they went along. From why the first MTV logo was designed on crinkled paper (it spent a little time in a trash bin), to how a tiny record store in Tulsa helped save the business, to why you should really think twice about going on a Lost Weekend with Van Halen... all the way to how a terrible cereal inspired one of the greatest ad slogans of all time: “I want my MTV,” we’ve packed this episode full of stories that marketers, fans and entrepreneurs will all want to hear.

On this episode of Generation Red: A Husker Podcast, Scott and Ken welcome two new guests
to the show. Justin Adams is the host of a successful Husker Football Recruiting channel at The
Voice of College Football. You can find his show at Nebraska Football
at the Voice of CollegeFootball on YouTube, and @The_HtownHusker on Twitter/X. Our other guest is Coach Ben
Aude, host of The BA Coach's Show on YouTube, and also available on any podcast app of
your choice. You can follow Coach @theBACoachsShow on Twitter/X
We start the show by talking about the HUGE talent that made their way to Nebraska over the
weekend, in the likes of #1 OT in the 2025 recruiting class, David Sanders, Jr. Also in town was
Oregon commit, 4 star WR Isaiah Mozee, who's father Jamar was
just hired as an offensive
assistant to help coach receivers. Justin's specialty is recruiting, so he led the discussion, and
then talked about the visit with Phil Steele that the Voice of College Football recently hosted.
After that, we spent over an hour reviewing some clips of video from B1G Media Days, where
Isaac Gifford, Ty Robinson, Ben Scott and Head Coach Matt Rhule emphasized the concept of
family at Nebraska.
Finally, we reviewed a clip of video featuring the SEC's biggest hot-take apologist, Paul
Finebaum, who took offense to Matt Rhule's comments about the B1G being the best
conference in college football. The commentary was incendiary for sure, but the response was
especially heated, including a tweet from friend of the show, Bryan, host of t
he Husker Army
Podcast. It was a fun, silly segment about a silly man with silly SEC homer-ism, who feels his
job is to gatekeep college football and put everyone in their place who just don't auto-anoint the
SEC as the greatest thing ever to happen in the
world of sport.
