Another November Sunday after a loss, but the Sunday Side Session still brings you all the analysis you want or didn’t know you needed following UCLA’s win over Nebraska.
This time Mike Schaefer is joined by 93.7 The Ticket’s Derrick Pearson as the two discuss what happened on the field and how UCLA came into Lincoln with a plan and exposed the Huskers.
Conversation starts with the defense, but mostly moves into a long discussion about play calling, identity, offensive coaching, setting up players before talking about red zone offense and Dylan Raiola.
Finally it finishes with a simple but difficult question — can this Nebraska team pull itself together and get over the hump and why should anyone believe it can?

Finally some recruiting talk ahead of what is shaping up to be a good visit weekend.

Husker247 gathered for a post-game recap of Nebraska’s tough 21-17 loss to Ohio State on Saturday.
Brian Christopherson and Mike Schaefer got together and walked through how the 4-point loss played out and why Saturday’s close loss was every bit as surprising as last week’s blowout to Indiana.
The two specifically dove into the strong play from the defensive front, highlighting Jimari Butler and MJ Sherman in particular as the two had strong performances and really made life difficult on Will Howard and the Ohio State offensive line.
Then it was time to give John Hohl his flowers for a shockingly good kicking performance that allowed the Huskers to add points instead of getting nothing out of its early game success.
Finally they addressed the offense from the running game to the play calling. A few things were working well in the running game but not much went right through the air. Where are things sitting for a passing game that was thought to be a strength at one point this season?

From there he dived into his career, his favorite places to call games, his memorable calls, the origin of bangarang and if he’s thought about what he’d say on air in the closing seconds of an NCAA tournament win for the Huskers.

The Husker247 Podcast gathered on Tuesday morning and discussed the aftermath of the Indiana loss, what Matt Rhule had to say after watching film, issues on offense and defense, as well as some possible solutions and the latest on Nebraska’s 2025 class with another commitment.
Things started though with Michael Bruntz and Brian Christopherson walking through their blown tire before even getting out of Lincoln on the way to Bloomington. Finally after the Banter subsides each walks through what Rhule said on Monday and what stood out to them about his comments.
Then a longer discussion took place about Nebraska’s offensive issues, how some of those might be solved and in what ways the Huskers could try to do things differently.
Following the offense the defense took center stage. Why does Husker247 feel better about the Huskers defensively than on offense?
Finally a conversation about JuJu Marks, his flip from Kansas to Nebraska and what the Huskers have done in Kansas City and with the 2025 class.
