Generous Words 寛大な言葉

(Proverbs 18:21) The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

(箴言 18:21 口語訳)死と生とは舌に支配される、これを愛する者はその実を食べる。

(Proverbs 11:24 MSG) The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller.

(箴言 11:24 MSGからの直訳) 寛大な人の世界はどんどん大きく広がっていくが、ケチな人の世界はどんどん小さくなっていく。

(Numbers 13:26-27 ) They came back to Moses and Aaron and the whole Israelite community at Kadesh in the Desert of Paran. There they reported to them and to the whole assembly and showed them the fruit of the land. (27)They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit.

(民数記 13:26-27 JCB)パランの荒野のカデシュに戻ると、モーセ、アロンはじめイスラエルの民全体にさっそく報告し、持ち帰ったくだものを見せました。(27)彼らの報告は次のとおりです。「ただいま戻りました。カナンは実にすばらしい国です。まさに、乳とみつが流れる国でした。その証拠に、持ち帰ったくだものをごらんください。

(Numbers 13:28-29) But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there. (29) The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along the Jordan.”

(Numbers 13:30-33) Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.” (31) But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” (32) And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. (33) We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”

(民数記 13:30-33 JCB)この報告に、人々はざわつきました。しかし、カレブはモーセの前でみなを静めると、きっぱり言いました。「われわれは、すぐ攻め上ってカナンを占領しよう。大丈夫、やれば必ずできる。」(31)「むちゃなことを言うな。あんな強い相手では、かなうわけがない。とても歯が立つものか。」偵察に行ったほかの者は大反対です。(32)結局、ほとんどの者はあまり乗り気ではなかったので、彼らは人々に言いました。「国中に兵士がおり、住民はたくましい体格をしている。(33)昔の巨人の子孫アナク人もいるし、彼らと比べたら、私たちなど虫けら同然に見える。」

(Numbers 14:24) But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.

1. Use your words WISELY 賢く言葉を使う

(Proverbs 12:18) The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

(箴言 12:18)軽率に話して人を剣で刺すような者がいる。しかし知恵のある人の舌は人をいやす。

2. Use your words to BUILD 言葉を使って誰かを引き上げる

(Ephesians 4:29 ESV) Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

(エペソ 4:29 ALIVE訳)人を引き下げることを口にしてはいけない。 ただ相手の益となり、助けとなり、引き上げることだけを口にしなさい。そうして相手の耳に恵みをほどこすように。

3. Use your words to GIVE courage 言葉を使って誰かに勇気を与える

(1 Thessalonians 5:11) Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

(1 テサロニケ 5:11 ALIVE訳)だから、これから何があろうと、今までどおりにお互いを励まし合い、助け合い、確信を強めていくのだ！

(Hebrews 10:24-25) And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, (25) not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

4. Don't withhold your WORDS 言葉を伝えるのをためらわない

(Proverbs 3:27) Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.

(箴言 3:27)あなたの手に善を行なう力があるとき、求める者に、それを拒むな。
