There is a truth about God that you need to hold on to with both hands when life is hard and you feel like giving up. God never lets you go. John 10 verses 28 and 29 record the words of Jesus. "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. Neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. And no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand." You are held in the hands of Jesus and the Father. No one can snatch you out. No circumstance. No enemy. No failure. Nothing can separate you from His grip.My dear friend, your security is not in your ability to hold on to God. It is in His ability to hold on to you. There will be times when you feel like letting go. Times when your faith is weak. Times when you feel distant from God. But in those times, He is still holding you. You are secure in His hand. He will never let you go.Think about Peter. He denied Jesus three times. He failed spectacularly. He wept bitterly. He must have felt like he had lost everything. He must have wondered if Jesus had let go of him. But Jesus had not let go. After the resurrection, Jesus sought Peter out. He restored him. He gave him a new commission. Peter learned that even his greatest failure could not separate him from the love of Christ.Think about the prodigal son. He left his father's house. He wasted everything. He hit rock bottom. He thought he had lost his place in the family forever. But his father had never let go of him. The father was watching for him every day. When he was still a long way off, the father saw him and ran to him. The father had never stopped loving him. He had never let go.Think about the apostle Paul. He was convinced that nothing could separate him from the love of God. He wrote in Romans 8 verses 38 and 39, "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Paul had faced many things that could have made him feel separated. But he was persuaded that nothing can separate you from God's love.So how do you rest in the security that God will never let you go? First, believe what God says, not what you feel. Your feelings may tell you that God has abandoned you. But His Word says He will never leave you or forsake you. Believe His Word over your feelings.Second, remind yourself of His faithfulness. Look back at your life and see how God has held on to you through every trial, every failure, and every difficult season. He has not let go yet. He will not start now.Third, stop trying to hold on in your own strength. Your grip is weak. His grip is strong. You are not holding on to Him. He is holding on to you. Rest in that truth.Fourth, when you feel distant, draw near to God. James 4 verse 8 says, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." He has not moved. He is right where He has always been. When you take a step toward Him, you will find that He is already there.Fifth, declare your security out loud. Say, "I am held in the hand of God. Nothing can snatch me out. He will never let me go." Speaking this truth strengthens your faith. What this produces in your life is an unshakable security in your relationship with God. When you know that God will never let you go, you can face anything. You do not have to fear failure because your security is not based on your performance. You do not have to fear circumstances because they cannot separate you from His love. You are secure in the hands of the One who holds the universe together.Let us pray. Father, I thank You that You will never let me go. I am held in Your hand. Nothing can snatch me out. My security is not in my ability to hold on to You. It is in Your ability to hold on to me. When I feel weak, You are strong. When I feel distant, You are near. When I fail, Your grace is sufficient. I rest in the security of Your love. I am Yours and You are mine. Nothing can separate me from Your love. In Jesus mighty name, amen. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
