College freshman Justin Gaines had returned to his parent's home in Duluth, Georgia, for the weekend. The smart and outgoing 18-year-old student did not have any classes on Fridays, so he used the weekends to catch up with his parents, do a little work at their family roofing company and party with friends. And on Thursday, November 1st, 2007, he set out for Wild Bill's Nightclub with a friend and his girlfriend to do just that.
But what started out as an innocent night of drinking, dancing and fun, soon turned into a hassle for Justin, who could not find a ride home. Surveillance cameras caught him outside the bar in the early morning hours, on his cell, desperately trying to secure a lift. Around 2:30 am, he told a parking lot attendant that he had found a ride, and was then seen getting into a black sedan with a woman with blond hair and a black dress. Who the mystery woman was and where they were going was anybody's guess. Justin Gaines was never seen or heard from again.
