This book follows three couples and their struggles to find themselves and their place in Ptown. it's full of action love and tears. what a well rounded story. And believe me the plot was one i didn't see coming.

Right at the top, the voice carries the compelling story of Reese, Tory and K.T. and Pia and the town of Providence Mass, And all the side characters like Bree. Caroline, Ally and Sheriff Parker. It is a well rounded book that keeps you interested and the vocal of the reader is perfect for all the parts,

What did you like best about this story?

How the book keep a carful balance between the relationship of Tory and Reese, K.T. and Pia, Tory and K.T. Bree and Ally, Bree and Caroline without letting you miss-out on the story. Some of the relationships were just friends, others lovers, others ex lovers, All complexed relationships always adding to the story.

Which character as performed by Nicol Zanzarella was your favorite?

Tory King sounds just like I image her sounding in my head, She is my favorite. But Nicol does a good job with all the character making a different voice for each one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I had the time I would have loved to have sat an listened to it in one sitting but I did not have that kind of time! Anyway it was also ok to listen to in small pieces and start it back up and listen to that way, But I plan to listen to many times again, over and over.

This is some of Radcyffe's best writing: Coupled with a beautiful reading, there is no way to go wrong?

Great novel, excellent series. If you have not read it then you must read and listen or just listen.

Overall good story

The narrator was great but the story was missing something for me. I love the other books in this series so I have already purchased the next book in the series. I am sure I will not be disappointed.

Whybourne gets bolder

Another great story, and great narration. Percival Whyborne's father hired Griffin Flaherty to investigate why workers keep going missing at his mine located at Threshold Mountain. He had already hired a bunch of security, including Griffin's ex lover Elliot. Whyborne began experiencing insecurity in his relationship with Griffin as Elliot began disrupting their relationship and the investigation. What is lurking in that cave and are the missing people dead or alive?

I am surprised at how much I enjoyed this series because this isn't a romance series. It's mystery, supernatural, thriller with romance as a side dish. But I like how Whyborne is growing a pair and starting to act with more confidence. I like him and Griffin and that mouthy Christine. They are a trio, but not a menage and it works well as an investigation partnership.

Another winner

Another great mystery/action thriller from Ms. Hawk. In this second book of the series Whyborne and Griffin travel to the town of Threshold to investigate why people are disappearing from the town. Their relationship is tested and paranormal event ensue. It is a wonderful story filled with witty and romantic dialogue and great action and suspense. The narrator does a great job, much better than the last book. Worth a credit.

A good next book in the series

A nice follow on from the first book, some supernatural goolies in the caves, a lot of romance, and a great adventure. Looking forward to the next one!

Better, but still has room to improve

I like these characters, and I am driven to read each offering in the series as it is released. The narrator's best voice is that of Christine, which makes it hard to listen to his less-than-good attempts at Griffin and Whyborne. I think the author misses opportunities to make the relationship more compelling - but that doesn't mean I won't be buying the next in the series when it is released.

Great follow up to Widdershins

I listened to this book on audio and the narrator is not my favorite. I wasnt thrilled with his performance in Widdershins and it was pretty much the same deal here.

A decent story

The book was well written and well narrated, but i just felt it was missing something. It is a pretty short book, but the ending was rather "matter of fact" and fairly surprising.

Narrator needs to do some research

What did you love best about All in with the Duke?

I love regency stories, and this one was well written. I liked the character build up, and the believability of it all.

What other book might you compare All in with the Duke to and why?

It compares to most of AVA Marchs' regency books, especially her brook street series, which I also loved.

How could the performance have been better?

The performance was the only thing that I found a bit disappointing. the narrator was not as good as the narrators on the Brook street books-especially Fortune hunter and Thief. He supposed to be portraying British Aristocrat, and he just did not sell it, and one of the lords had a Cockney accent, which is a lower class accent. It just kept throwing me off.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The second love scene was amazing....

Started out ok...

This is a m/m romance... of course.. (book cover), and it started out really good... I thought it would get better, but... it didn't... it just got boring..

Not really worth the credit... maybe a sale...

Narration was ok... nothing to rave about.. it was actually a bit hard to tell the difference between the two male voices... so just ok...

Not best effort

I am a great fan of Ava March (I have read / listened to most of her books). Brook Street: Thief is in my top 10 favourite M/M romances.

Having recently re-listened to Thief, I am sorry to say All In With the Duke is definitely not one of AM's better efforts.

All In With the Duke has the same plot line and even some of the same phrases used in Thief. I couldn't help making a comparison, with All In With the Duke coming in a poor second.

Timothy Holcomb is an OK narrator.

Since the two books are so similar, spend your money on Brook Street: Thief instead.

Darn Good Romance

This book was my type of book....after all, who buys one of these without wanting to read them! But I mean not only is it the genre that I like, it was a book within the genre that I actually cared for. I did not find it cheesy or too light or too ....... anything. It was just a good romance that happened to be between two guys.

Oath of Honor is the third book in the First Responders series by Radclyffe. Combining personal drama with political realism a la "The West Wing", this audiobook is the story of Captain Wes Masters, first physician to the fictional president of the United States, Andrew Powell. As if the high-stress job wasn't enough, social rivalries and romantic intrigues break out within the Presidential Protection Detail. This couldn't be good for the President's safety.

Betsy Zajko's expressive voice has a smooth, silk-like tone, allowing listeners to really digest each detail of the prose.

Thumbs up to the story, thumbs down to narrator

I'm a Radclyffe fan but have only listened to her books on Audible. I might've enjoyed this book more if I would've read it instead of listened to audio version. But I just did not connect with this one like I did others in Honor series (this one is major spinoff and segue into Honor book #8). I prefer Abby Craden as narrator for Radclyffe because she makes each character their own & gives an actual performance. That's especially true for Blair & Cam's character/ongoing love story.

I'm sorry but Betsy Zajko just doesn't do it for me as a narrator. She did not make me fall in love with Wes & Evan's story...& she did not do any justice to Blair & Cam in this book. I could never distinguish one character from another because Betsy doesn't even attempt to change her voice. There is little to no inflection, except when she's narrating a sex scene. But even then, her performances almost always cause laughter from me because it just sounds so over-performed & unbelievable. It cheapens the story in my opinion. And she makes it very difficult to follow along with the story in general. It's almost impossible for me to invest in the book and connect with it or the characters when I have trouble keeping up with who's supposedly speaking at any moment. When you're narrating a book with so many female characters, it would go a very very long way to give each of them at least a semi-unique voice. Sigh. I just did not like this one at all, sorry Radclyffe.

Lee- he seemed to get the effeminate fox down far better than the tough "straight" acting tiger.

Yes, I was nearly late for work several times as I sat in my car needing to hear a few minutes more.

Any additional comments?

The story is top notch as Gold is known for. The reader has significantly improved since the first book, finally finding his confidence and step, as well as pacing himself as he reads. I listen to the HQ version though, so when chapters end you can still faintly hear the click of his mouse as he stopped the recording >.<. He also sometimes loses the voice of the character he's narrating for a sentence, but quickly picks it back up.

I enjoyed it

The story, despite spinning its wheels in a few places, is pretty good. The characters are interesting. And the audio quality is definitely improved from Out of Position (though still could use improvement).

A simple read

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

If my friend had already listened to most of the other book in the M/M genre, had both money and time to spend, then yes I would recommend it. Not to say it was that bad of a book but for me, the plot that I'd gathered from the blurb wasn't all that compelling to begin with. And then it sort of dragged, going through the motions of the usual book with a "gay for you" (suburbs style) theme that you find in this genre. I found this book similar to the book "Nothing ever happens" by Sue Brown but ironically less climatic.

If youve listened to books by Brad Boney before, how does this one compare?

Unfortunately I haven't because it didn't really leave a strong impression on me.

Nice feel good m/m romance

Really nice feel good m/m romance. I liked it. I really didn't like the country accent David used for Travis character, but other than that...it was your basic m/m romance. Well take that back... it was a bit interesting in how Travis left Ben, when Ben broke up with Travis... it actually worked for the story though... Just enough angst, romance and storyline. I really liked the brothers too...

Nice narration. Charlie David is best with Hispanic or Italian accents, but he did great here as well.

Good credit or sale... Or just buy and save credit it the price is still under 10 dollars.

You've Gotta have Heart Yell!

What about Charlie Davids performance did you like?

Mr. Davids performance was first rate. He captured the Texas accent as well as the New York, upper-east-side accent. His voice is rich and melts into the ear like a warm caress. It adds humanity to the somewhat directorial love scenes.

This book serves as a prequel to the next book The Return. It introduces a subset of characters that become important second half of that book.

The novel has a lot of heart. The title character Ben is a self-absorbed trial attorney in New York City who has become estranged from his family and roots. He has a dream boyfriend and a dream job when BAM his life is turned upside down by the death of his parents and he becomes guardian to his three much younger sibling boys. While sorting the newly re-founded family out, he meets the odd duck that is destine to be his soulmate. The two characters are really an odd pairing of square peg in a round hole; no pun intended.

Bloody Brilliant...until the last few chapters

If you could sum up The Adorned in three words, what would they be?

*Beautiful* The plot and the writing just come together and make this story at least the first 92% of the story). Simply gorgeous.

*(Memoirs of a Geisha)*During the course of the book, I was thinking how very much alike in plot this was to Memoirs of a Geisha. And if you loved that book, but love M/M and a sliver of paranormal, you will truly love this.

*Epic*The story told is unlike many of this genre. As I said before it is like Memoirs of a Geisha but a lovely twist. A rich storyline, a myriad of realistic characters, not very much sex (thought I wouldn't necessarily feel this was an asset, but with this book it might have ruined the beauty if the author didn't integrate it right), and a compelling historic world.

Any additional comments?

If you do decide to get this book, regardless if you care for Happily Ever After's, stop right before the end. You will know when. At the climax, you know, that point when everything seems to be going wrong but most authors make it all right again? Well John Tristan, the author, didn't. And usually that is refreshing. But not so with this book, it was not done in a way that fit the story. More so like the author got morbidly depressed or bored and decided happiness was overvalued and somehow would diminish the rest of the story.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

In this story, with echoes of the most light and frivolous plus the most dark and cruel Dickensonian passages, we get the the happiest times of a poor boy who achieves fame and later of a love tested by revolution.

The book is difficult but proves in that, between true loves, no surface wounds can touch the heart.

What happend!!!

This story started out so great..but the end... OMG! Did he even get completed...I just don't know... I was so pissed.. It was like the story just rushed through to find an ending... From the way the story was right up until the end...Ur gonna be disappointed.

This would have been a buy for m/m romance fans...but the end...I just can't recommend it, unless you prepare yourself to be pissed off at the end. Yes you get your HEA...but dang...

Kept Me Interested to the End

Where does Love by the Numbers rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

It's one I won't forget. I've listened to several books, and about half of them I couldn't finish. This one kept me interested and made me really look forward to my drive to/from work.

The narrator is fine and the story is good. It's not super complex and there isn't any other major plot line going on aside from the relationship between the main characters. Which I was totally fine with! One of the characters is an academic, so there were moments where the book taught me something interesting.

What other book might you compare Love by the Numbers to and why?

All I can think of is Snow Falling by Gerri Hill, but that's mostly because of the subject matter. This one developed the characters better and the writing was smarter.

What about Kathleen Roche-Zujkos performance did you like?

The voices were well differentiated. And she was able to do a good job with the various accents and languages. And for the most part it didn't sound like she was straining to do them. I've listened to a book before where the narrator was trying to do a butch voice and it was agonizing.

There were times where the narrator was a little too into it and would laugh whimsically through some of the text (that wasn't dialogue). Someone above compared it to reading a book to a child, which it did have that sound to it here and there. Not unbearable, though. And the voices were consistent.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed occasionally. There are some clever quips. There are parts of the story that made me yell at my iPod (mostly good reasons, but I won't spoil it).

This story has a LOT of buildup between the characters. If you're looking for hot and heavy action right off the bat, don't listen, But if you enjoy extensive development and seemingly unending/unconsumated sexual tension like I do, this will be a good read for you.

Best book in series so far!

Would you listen to The Hell You Say again? Why?

Absolutely. I have listened to it twice already.

Josh Lanyon does a great job of showing how far people are willing to go to remain acceptable to their peers and the repercussions of how soul destroying denial can become.

Chris brings a great character range, making the book even more appealing.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Hell You Say?

The most memorable scene for me was how calm Adrien remains about the marriage announcement. Chris's performance of this scene made my heart hurt.

What about Chris Pattons performance did you like?

Chris has a great vocal range for characters. He also adds a lot of emotion that increased the overall appeal of the book. I look forward to listening to him read.

Both Jake's and Angus's actions in this book show the degree of destruction they are willing to accept in order to fit in with their peers.

Jake's homophobia becomes more than fear, it develops into a mental illness, causing him to endanger others through unprotected sex and physical violence.

Angus's need to fit in brings him into contact with a group of people who are more than willing to kill to protect themselves and he is willing to turn a blind eye because of his need.

Cool mystery, simply perfect narration

What made the experience of listening to The Hell You Say the most enjoyable?

Chris Patton's narration. Such a marvel! and of course he had the best material to work with. I love the book and had very high expectations which were met by Chris' narration and more.

What did you like best about this story?

What i like best about this book (3rd in a series of 5) are the mystery (which is really cool) and the introduction of Adrien's new family (which provides a much needed comic relief). In addition, there is the story of what is going on between Adrien and Jake (some tough decisions are made in this book), and that part is emotionally intense. I admire Josh Lanyon's writing for weaving all of the above together seamlessly.

What about Chris Pattons performance did you like?

I truly like everything about Chris Patton's performance, and he gets better and better with every book in this series. I enjoy in particular the voice nuances, which give each character a distinct voice that is completely in sync with what i imagined. My personal favorite is Jake's voice. The scenes between Adrien and Jake (everyday interaction and erotic) are crucial to the understanding of these characters, and especially for Jake, whose inner thoughts we don't have access to. Since these books mean so much to me, i felt apprehensive when i started listening to Fatal Shadows (book 1), and to A Dangerous Thing (book 2), because there are specific scenes that have this perfect clarity.
