    Publisher's Summary:
When I started thinking about my poetry book, I decided to write about things that I love and enjoy so much. I feel for poems to come out right and be enjoyable, the poet has to be genuine and true about her feelings and what to write about, and words must come from the heart. Also the vocabulary and expressions used must reflect a mastery of the language to choose the most suitable words that will be a great match for each situation; that is a skill and a gift that God had blessed me with, and I am thankful for that. I have also chosen my subjects and situations based on the simple things in life that people enjoy and find close to their hearts, because I believe that when it comes to poetry, the simpler the better. I have also written about a range of topics to make it exciting and give the listener the experience to enjoy different situations and reflections; after all, variety is the spice of life. Some of the topics that I picked for my reflections and poems include animals, nature, cultures and values, and faraway places. I am a huge animal lover, and you will feel that throughout this book, I spend a lot of my time looking at them, watching animals and wildlife shows, and going to zoos and aquariums.

Title: Look We Have Coming to Dover!
    Author: Daljit Nagra
    Narrator: Daljit Nagra
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 57 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 10-29-15
    Publisher: Faber & Faber
    Genres: Drama & Poetry, Poetry
    Publisher's Summary:
An astonishing, energetic reading by Daljit Nagra of his own hugely acclaimed poetry. Winner of the Forward Prize for Best First Collection and the Costa Poetry Award. Shortilsted for the Guardian First Book Award and winner of the South Bank Show, Arts Council Decibel Award 2008.
Look We Have Coming to Dover! is the most acclaimed debut collection of poetry published in recent years as well as one of the most relevant and accessible.
Nagra, whose parents came to England from the Punjab in the 1950s, draws on both English and Indian English traditions to tell stories of alienation, assimilation, aspiration and love, from a stowaway's first footprint on Dover Beach to the disenchantment of subsequent generations. In startlingly newly minted language, with crackling vigour and wicked humour, this collection explores the experience of a second-generation British Punjabi.
The contradictory feelings of dislocation, assimilation and alienation in this "flighty mix-up country" are emphasised by the shifts of language from Punjabi English - "She effing at my mum / in all di colours of Punjabi" - to regional and formal English. Nagra's licence with language is invigorating - how could you better describe the first flush of married life than "darling is so pirouetty with us / for whirlwind married month"?
Daljit Nagra was born and raised in West London then Sheffield and currently lives in Willesden, where he works in a secondary school. Look We Have Coming to Dover! won the Forward Prize for Best Individual Poem 2004.
    Critic Reviews:
"The poet's reading, like his words, is energetic and as alive as quicksilver." (Observer)
"I defy anyone not to come away from this volume feeling gladdened, afflicted, revitalised." (Sarah Crown, Guardian)
    Members Reviews:
    Delight-full
Perfect balance of engaging poetry that although at times hilarious never fails to deliver the often poignant message.

Title: The Vanity of Human Wishes
Subtitle: The Tenth Satire of Juvenal Imitated

    Narrator: Denis Daly
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 23 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 10-13-15
    Publisher: Spoken Realms
Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 6 votes
    Genres: Drama & Poetry, Poetry
    Publisher's Summary:
"The Vanity of Human Wishes: The Tenth Satire of Juvenal Imitated" is the most famous poem by the scholar and lexicographer Samuel Johnson. Many eminent critics, including Walter Scott and T. S. Eliot, consider it to be Johnson's crowning achievement as a poet.
The subject and argument of the poem are clear from the title. However, unlike Juvenal, Johnson espoused the view that Christian values are an essential aspect of a life well lived. While Johnson passes harsh judgement on the foolishness of greed and social pretensions, his scorn is much tempered by that natural compassion that has made him one of the most lovable figures in English literature.

    Excellent reading!
Excellent reading!! Along with his brilliance as a medical Doctor, he is a remarkable author.
This is his first creation in poetry. Although the poetry does not always rhyme, the message
is always clear, and provides a look into Dr Zaidi's thinking. I would suggest you read all of his books.
    Enlightenment
I am an extremely fortunate person. Not because of my type 2 diabetes, but because Dr Zaidi is my endocrinologist. I have treated with him for over two years and he is as remarkable a person as you would think. Each visit is a chance to relax, deeply, and listen to his answers to every question and/or concern.
Most book shoppers, whatever topic or genre, are not always familiar with the author. With a quick perusal of the contents, many decide to take a chance on the author and that the book will be a good read. To that end, I HIGHLY recommend each and every book published by Dr Zaidi. He doesn't just talk the talk, but he walks the walk. Being in his office is a treasured practice in comfort and serenity. I am constantly amazed by the depth and precision of his knowledge. His books are well organized, with very manageable chapters that provide tremendous incentive to go at your own pace and the comfort in knowing that you will not be bogged down in a hugely long chapter. This spells burnout, and Dr Zaidi. At the end of one chapter in one of his books, he wrote, "Now put this book down and take a walk". He understands, truly. There is not an ounce of ego in this man, just his passion to serve humanity.
In this book, You Are Not Who You Think You Are, Dr Zaidi uses poems to further address the factors of stress in our lives. Stress is a large factor in the contraction of type 2 diabetes. That was one of my big problems. I thought I was doing ok and taking care of myself. Added to bad eating habits and poor choices, the stress of my job and family put me into fairly serious type 2 diabetes. I encourage those that read this review to purchase this book. Read it with an open mind and with the knowledge that the author is writing it for you. If you knew him as I do, you would know this to be fact. He truly writes with the intention of speaking to everyone personally.
To sum up this book, as all of them, Dr Zaidi does not teach, preach or scold. He enlightens. I am a lucky man.
