Honest Emotion in a Poem
I didn't know what to expect with this book, but once I began reading it, I couldn't put it down. It's an heartbreaking story about lost love and a partner with an addiction, and written as a poem. I couldn't help but feel the author's pain as he goes through his life trying to get his addicted partner to stop taking drugs. He loves her dearly, but when she takes off with their son, the little boy he loves with all of his heart, he goes on a heartbreaking search to find them. He wants nothing more than to be reunited with his little son, and hopefully his wife as well. His problem is, the little boy he's loved and cared for since birth isn't his biological child, and this makes it even more difficult for him to get help because the mother has custody. The frustration and raw emotion of the author on this journey tears at the heartstrings and you just want him to succeed in getting his wife off drugs and to be reunited as a family, or at least to have some part in the little boy's life. To find out what happens, you'll have to read the book.
I found this to be an Awesome read.
Although written in separate poems, this piece of work shares a cohesive story. It faces the dark reality in our present day society that often overlooks the emotional turmoil a man faces with the separation of a child he loves. It is a sincere look into a tormented man has he faces his addictions and those of ones he loves and his ultimate goal to fight for and claim the child he calls son. Mr. Knittle writes with a sincerity from the depths of his soul. It is a talent that I find refreshing and much needed today. I found this to be an Awesome read.
Highlighted by dark undertones this collection of poems tells a modern story that anyone can enjoy. The story though very sad is very real
This collection of poems is very touching on many levels. A story of both redemption and compassion for past mistakes. One man battles his demons in epic form. Normally I don't find myself reading or searching out Epic style poetry, but with this one I found myself staying for the story. Highlighted by dark undertones this collection of poems tells a modern story that anyone can enjoy. The story though very sad is very real. It is a story that we all hear about, but not typically through the eyes of those going through it. I enjoyed the authors ability to blend in fantasy, the genre, into real life issues. To be fully enjoyed one must read each poem the nature of Epic Poetry. Though there were a few that stood out to me. The Birthing One, Darkness, The Three, The Vision, and Renee. The Vision was my favorite out of all of them. I feel that it stands up well on it's own and in the course of the story. Renee I also feel was really good and a smart choice to put towards the end. Renee is good on it's own, but shines even brighter after reading the book from the beginning.
A heartbreaking tale that is sadly not over.
