    Publisher's Summary:
The first volume of the Arthurian fantasy series, The Perilous Order of Camelot, The Dragon and the Unicorn answers the mythic question, "Who were King Arthur's parents?" Legend says mortal enemies: the British warlord Uther Pendragon and Ygrane queen of the Celts. Merlin brought them together. But who is Merlin? And how did his magic unite such ill-starred lovers to bring forth the world's most legendary king?
The demon Lailoken, as old as time, is tricked by angelic powers, the Fire Lords, and trapped in a human body. He becomes Merlinus, a wandering wise man expert in magic, destined to work for good among humans, opposed by the Furor, Odin. An encounter with the unicorn - a spirit similarly earthbound - brings him to Ygrane, queen of the Celts, and she sets him a task to find her king, a man seen in vision and fated to be her love-match. Merlinus-Lailoken seeks and finds him: Theodosius, a stable worker. But Ygrane has commanded the demon-wizard to bring her a king, so Merlinus sets to work making one.

Merlinus will have to title this
Slow getting started. But paid off in the end. Lot's of wondering who is who so pay attention.
    wow! awesome mind candy...
A beautiful journey. Don't give up on it. It often seems like it is going to get boring, but just wait five minutes or have a glass of wine, it will soon pull you back in with awe inspiring force. Lastly, if all religions could adopt the perspectives illustrated in this epic, we would have no foolish fundamentalism.... yet extremely devoted worshippers....

    Good -- rough recording IMO
Of the pathfinder tales I've listened to, this recording was really rough. I liked the story enough but wasn't my favorite PF tale.
Fascinating exploration of the Plane of Shadows
I love all of these Pathfinder Tales and Chronicles, both for their great stories and for the idea fodder they provide me for the PF campaigns I am running. This one was particularly helpful as Ive recently been maneuvring a few of my campaigns thru the Planes. I ran a fantastic adventure in Hell for one group and took another on a memorable romp thru the Astral Plane and some demiplanes of my creation, but Ive been wondering how to run something in the Plane of Shadows; this story was absolute GOLD for me!!
Storywise, this one was unpredictable and fast paced, with complex and enjoyable characters running the show. Dina Pearlman did a great job, too, especially her portrayal of the gruff half-orc Drelm - Im also planning on stealing this speaking style in my campaigns for any gruff NPCs that I need to run!
I highly recommend a Plague of Shadows.
    Ok story
Very standard rpg story, fine to kill time when travelling but no suprises. Voice actor was ok though make voices did sound a bit strange to me.

Christmas 1292. Time travel has meant many things to Meg, David, and Anna over the years. But regardless of the circumstances, it's always been about saving lives: their own, their family members', and their friends'.
This time, it's a combination of all three.
Guardians of Time is the ninth novel in the After Cilmeri series.
    Members Reviews:
    Another wonderful story!
This series has captivated me...the characters are vibrant and I can't wait for the next adventure to begin in Masters of Time next month! Bravo Sarah!
A worthy continuation of the series
Sarah Woodbury continues to entertain with time travel at it's finest. I recommend her series.
    LOVED THIS!
If you could sum up Guardians of Time in three words, what would they be?
    Exciting, fun, engrossing.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved the new character Bridget. But Llewellyn is in it and he is my favorite of all the characters. It's just so hard because they are like family and hard to pick a favorite.
Have you listened to any of Laurel Schroeders other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes. I really like her. My favorite in this one that cracked me up was toward the beginning when she says, "Hi there." When Math sat down. Since I have read the books it has been amazing to me how much I love listening to them. It's like the difference between black and white tv and color.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, I laughed out loud several times. My favorite line is, "I am officially peeved." by Callum.
    Any additional comments?
It's hard to pick a favorite in this series but this is right up there with Daughter of Time and Children of Time. Just loved it. I never read books twice. Never. But with this series I have read and listened to them multiple times.
    Excellent Story!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have recommended this book to my friends because it is such an interesting story. Sarah does a wonderful job in bringing the characters to life.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Guardians of Time?
The memorable moment of this story for me is when the time travel occurs seeing how they adapt to the current situation.
What does Laurel Schroeder bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Laurel does a good job with the character's voices and it brings more depth to the story when you can "hear them" having their conversations.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The moment before the time travel occurs when you are not sure if it is going to work in the dangerous situation.
    Any additional comments?
This book, like the others in the series is very entertaining with the historical background and the action and adventure that the characters bring. It makes you feel as if you are there and the characters are your friends. Each book makes you look forward to the next one in the series.
    Great adventure
Love how this story continues and how everyone goes forward through time. I enjoy living through each character and can't wait to go onto the next book. I really enjoy audible and the flexibility it allows me as a caregiver of a disabled child.

    Publisher's Summary:
On the heavily forested planet of Lumin, the Network has slept, dormant, for over 600 cycles. Only a select few remember that it resides beneath the crust of the planet, waiting, and for those who do, the battle for Lumin's future has raged in the shadows.
When Mia Jayne's path crosses with an ancient volume in the Archives of the Order of Vis Firmitas, this ancient battle moves from the shadows into the light. Compendium opens up a world of knowledge, and, for the first time since arriving at the Order, Mia has the key to reclaim the freedom she has lost. To do so, she must choose between her conscience and her heart. Conceived against an ailing world of fantastical beauty where long-lost technology tips the balance between extinction and survival, Mia must remember that there is always a choice, and that makes all the difference.

    A wonderful read!
This was such a good book! I loved the combined organic/machine powered by the elder trees. The Compendium is an extraordinary book with lots of surprises. The narration was excellent!
Great Writing + Wonderful Narration = Amazing!
    Any additional comments?
Im a sucker for beautiful writing and this book has beautiful writing in spades! Couple that with a fantastic narrator and you have audio book gold! Compendium had me hooked from the beginning. The characters are relatable and engaging, the world is intriguing and beautiful (I long for it to become a movie so I can see it in full color), and the story is unique and compelling! I so enjoyed getting to know the planet of Lumin and the people who are fighting for its future. I can't wait to find out what Mia and the Order do next! If you're looking for your next great listen - this is it!
    Original world
But I felt condescended to. This is best classified as YA fantasy.
The concept of the universe in which the story takes place is fascinating, unique and offers lots of possibilities but for me, this wasn't the strongest opening for a series.
The lead pfotagonist is a fully realized, flawed but likeable young woman, thrust out of the life she's always known and suddenly sent to seek any possible way to save her father's life. At least, that was what she was told...
Loved the setting and a fun story.
What made the experience of listening to Compendium the most enjoyable?
The setting is great, I loved the whole nature-tech/sci-fantasy feel of it. Almost like Avatar (the movie) world thousands of years in the future but with humans, not Navi. It is a great read for Numenera fans like myself (though it is not based on this).
What did you like best about this story?
The wonderful blend and balance of nature and technology, the fun characters I couldn't always predict. I also enjoyed the exploration of loyalty, selfishness and consequences the book goes into.
Did Shiromi Arserio do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Yes, she did. However her reading style never truly grabbed me, it was good, but it didn't help the story in any way. I can't put my finger on what it was lacking but there is room for improvement.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The encounter between St Claire and Mia in the lunch room.

    Wonderful journey!
This is an excellent book full of adventure, misadventure. It is full of hard decisions and heartache and yet there is still hope for the hero. What I enjoy most is it's a great story in a semi fictional world that resembles ours so closely that you aren't confused or lost by it. The magic is simple yet intriguing enough to keep you curious as to what more the hero can do. This is a fantastic start to an epic journey full of friendship, loyalty and the ever present good versus evil though those lines are very thin and crisscrosses, it just adds a deeper element to this tale. I can't wait to get my hands on the next one. If I were reading it id say I couldn't put it down. As it stands, I've listened to it as often as I possibly could! You won't regret adding this to your library.
A Wonderful Story and a Wonderful Storyteller
I'm often reluctant to choose a title from a previously unread author since the chances of finding not merely a diamond in the rough but a expertly facet jewel is fairly rare. While the fantastical aspects of this fantasy are not unlike what is found in many other novels of the same genre, what makes this one truly unique and rare is the way in which the author weaves his tale.
Many novels tend to unfold a story in pre-Copernicus fashion, where the events primary revolve around a primary protagonist with some interaction with supporting characters. Taming of the Elements still has a primary character but the author takes much care in providing a rich background to not only the secondary players but also the tertiary ones. Additionally, he moves the story through adventures that involve the secondary characters, separate from the primary protagonist. It really makes for a much more pleasurable reading (and in the case, listening) experience.
The story also has an ample amount of intrigue and several poignant moments which worked its own kind of dark magic which inhibited sleep on my part, not wanting to wait until a restful evening to renew this interesting tale.
    Adventure and magic, love it!
Would you listen to Taming the Elements again? Why?
Most definitely! I always listen to the books I enjoy multiple times. This is an impressive story for a new author. I love the point of view writing style and the journey that the characters endure. A little slow at first but, develops into an exciting adventure. The characters draw you in and the magic system is interesting too. I was sad when the book ended. I want more!
What did you like best about this story?
I really enjoyed the way the characters grew in the story. I think this is different than most epic fantasy's I have read. I saw more internal growth of the characters than expected. And I enjoyed the way their relationships changed as they faced difficult situations.

Is someone out to get Phoe?
In the third exciting novel of this treasure-hunting series, Thalia Phoenix (aka Phoe), who is an amateur archaeologist, is at an impasse when Simon Kessler wants her to find Beowulf's lair. Convinced that the Beowulf myth is nothing but an ancient poem, she refuses. Instead Peter takes the mission.
When Peter bungles the job, Phoe, Peter, Jonathan, and a computer expert named Kadan get swept up into something dangerous and compelling, something no human has ever experienced.
The mythology of Beowulf and Grendel collides with technology when Kadan reveals intriguing information about another Beowulf - a software and hardware combination that delivers experiences beyond anyone's wildest dreams.
Unfortunately Kadan has only a short time to come up with the game changer that could save them. Meanwhile the Phoenix Quest team is battling for their very lives.
The dangers in the mythical poem could become their new reality, and the clock is ticking.
The Lair of Beowulf is book three of the best-selling treasure-hunting series Phoenix Quest.
    Members Reviews:
THE LAIR OF BEOWULF broke new ground for the series as it ascended into a technology labyrinth. Five stars!
THE LAIR OF BEOWULF broke new ground for the series as it ascended into a technology labyrinth that was Phoeâs biggest challenge yet.
In a completely different, but entertaining, direction for K.T. Tombâs Phoenix Quest series, rather than a treasure hunt for an ancient artifact, THE LAIR OF BEOWULF leapt into new territory with advanced technology and a compelling what-if. In this intriguing, postmodern redux of the Beowulf and Grendel legend, a game became much more than virtual reality. And much more than a game. It was a battle for life itself. The well-written story was spine-tingling in places because modern science seems just on the cusp of such frightening and dangerous advances as this. (The Google Glass device has taken humanity a leap closer to the hi-tech world in this book.)
In this third adventure of the series, Peter goes on the wrong track (no surprise there!) and it takes Phoe (who now calls herself by her real name, Thalia) and a computer expert named Kadan to get to the bottom of what is real and what is virtual. Of course, there is a mad scramble to figure out who to trust. And, they have to get something resolved before a lot of bad guys get access to the technology!
I enjoyed the contrast of adventures, compared to the previous books, where the intrepid heroine took on searches for artifacts of the past. LAIR OF BEOWULF, with its elements of science fiction added to the thriller adventure, allowed me see Phoe do her best investigative work in a much different venue, within a futuristic framework. She was up against both real villains and artificial intelligence, and this was her biggest challenge yet.
Some unexpected plot twists kept me turning the pages as the adventure took on an Escher-like feel of a cerebral journey, as well as a physical one. The book was unique and still fit the wonderful cast of characters (good and evil) who populate this series. As always, Simon is Phoeâs nemesis, and yet, he is her biggest instigator to go on adventures that always entertain me.
I was riveted to the story and followed it to the surprising end! Loved it. Applause for a brand-new direction for this series, which began to diversify with this book.
