Get Into Gate: A Stargate Podcast

A bonus Get Into Gate episode this weekend, talking about religion.

With latest episode discussed on Get Into Gate - "Demons" - bringing Christianity into the STARGATE lore, we open the floodgates that have been bustling since Season 1. We talk the good, the bad, the influences in real-life & in sci-fi.

While it started as an off-shoot comment around "Demons", the following conversation soon became it's own separate beast. We've decided to upload it anyway to ask some questions and try to figure some things out in a friendly debate.

Listen via both iTunes & Soundcloud & get involved - send us an email via [email protected] or hit us up on our social media pages.

Get Into Gate is a weekly celebration of all things STARGATE brought to you by the team behind Get Into Geek. When we discovered one of our own, Rhys, had never seen one second of STARGATE and was forever left out of our in-jokes and throwback references, the rest of the team decided to rediscover it with him and breakdown the series one episode at a time.

It was only a matter of time: things. get. religious.

For the first time in SG-1's run, Christianity is explored on an off-world mission - with Sokar & an Unas "demon".

While the Get Into Gate team celebrate FIFTY EPISODES, SG-1 finds itself drifting back to the problems of the Quantum Mirror in POINT OF VIEW.

When an alternate version of Samantha Carter - and a very-much-still-alive Kawalski - arrive at the SG-1, claiming to be from a parallel Earth & begging for the SGC's help, the entire team must decide if the visitors are telling the truth & if so, should they help them.

Revisiting old storylines (and in particular, from Season 1)'s was Season 2's trope - does it work for this Season 3 episode? While it reverses the fortunes of our characters, does "Point Of View" ask enough new questions to warrant itself? Where else could this unique storyline explored?

Listen via both iTunes & Soundcloud.

Two System Lords in two weeks? Season 3 is really moving!

"...and now, the conclusion."

Sure, STARGATE SG-1 wrapped up Season 2 with a clip show - but can it save the story with a good second half to kick off Season 3?

With the help of a Tok'ra operative, Jack, Sam & Daniel attempt an escape from Hathor's compound, while Teal'c enlists some unlikely aides to stage a rescue mission!

We're already two seasons in - let's breakdown STARGATE's sophomore year & compare it to SG-1's debut.

Once again using Matty's 'Rule Of Thirds', we split the entire season into groups of 'great', 'good' and - as Brendan puts it - 'horseshit' episodes.

Season 2 was overall a big step-up from Season 1 - which we loved anyway - what will prove the best...and worst?
