Get Into Gate: A Stargate Podcast

A bonus Get Into Gate episode this weekend, following the news at San Diego Comic-Con that new Stargate is coming!

STARGATE: ORIGINS will debut as a digital format and tell the story of Catherine Langford following the Earth gate's discovery in Egypt.

But, while we're all happy about new Stargate of any kind coming our way, is this a good idea? Will the new series fit into established canon? Why Catherine Langford? Why this time period?

The Get Into Gate team lay out some theories, state some problems as they break it all down!

Get Into Gate is a weekly celebration of all things STARGATE brought to you by the team behind Get Into Geek. When we discovered one of our own, Rhys, had never seen one second of STARGATE and was forever left out of our in-jokes and throwback references, the rest of the team decided to rediscover it with him and breakdown the series one episode at a time.

Things get political - and a little historical - in this week's Stargate episode!

When SG-11 disappear while overseeing a mining expedition on an alien world, SG-1 are sent to bring them home. But the locals warn of the ancient spirits that protect both them and the land...beings that don't take too kindly to the threat that those from Earth pose...

Back to a one-off story after last week's two-part "Tok'ra" episode, how will newbie Rhys take to "Spirits"? Subscribe and listen to find out!

A special double episode to break down Part 1 and 2 of "Tok'ra".

When Carter dreams of an alien base, SG-1 travel to discover the base of the Goa'uld enemies, the Tok'ra. An alliance seems imminent, though the Tok'ra have one considerable request.

Sure, "Tok'ra" sets the stage for a big future, but is it all it could have been?

Let's be honest - after last week's SECRETS, whatever followed was always going be a bit of a downer. Good thing we got BANE then, 'ey?

When Teal'c is poisoned by an alien bug, his body soon starts to transform - causing him to go rogue and abandon the SGC. While faces dying alone, O'Neill and the rest of SG-1 race the clock to find a cure.

Dare we say who wrote this episode? As always, Rhys experiences the episode for the first time - can his love of all things Teal'c save BANE for him?

WE'RE BACK! And what an episode to return to - three plot lines, Goa'uld pregnancies and an assassination?

Sha're returns with some bad news for Daniel, Jack struggles to keep the Stargate cover up and Sam has Daddy Issues...now the Stargate ball really starts to roll.

Rhys was told to expect big things from this episode - how did the Stargate rookie take to "Secrets"?

We're back with another Teal'c episode and this time he returns home to rescue his son...again.

Haven't we see this before?! Or is there more to it. One thing's for sure - one of the Get Into Gate team will unleash on this episode. Can you guess who? Probably!

O'Neill is once again the victim of an alien disease and Rhys gets quizzed as we review "Message In A Bottle".

When SG-1 bring back a seemingly harmless storage device, the artifact quickly reveals its deadly nature and threatens not only the life of Jack O'Neill, but that of the entire SGC base and all life above ground.

While a lot more singular of an episode, "Message In A Bottle" has all the makings of classic sci-fi television - why? Subscribe and listen to find out!

A new Goa'uld System Lord is revealed, while SG-1 meet the real Thor in "Thor's Chariot".

When the SGC receive a mysterious message from Cimmeria, SG-1 go to investigate only to find the peaceful planet under attack from new system lord, Heru'ur. To save the Cimmerians, SG-1 must unlock the mystery of Thor and the Asguardians.

Matty's been waiting on this episode for ages, while Rhys is picking his jaw up off the floor after a big reveal. Also, Brendan has discovered the whereabouts of Walter.

Daniel meets a girl and starts to go cray-cray in Episode 5 of SG-1's second season: "Need".

When Daniel Jackson's SG-1 teammates are (again) imprisoned, he tries to use the affections of his captor to free them. But, with the help of regular Sarcophagus use, Jackson begins to slowly lose himself...and risk the lives of his friends in the process.

"Need" is very much a Daniel Jackson episode and we're not at all upset about it. From gaining a clingy girlfriend, to adding to the number of times he's died and suffering his own form of drug addiction, Michael Shanks has never had more to do!

SG-1 takes its first dip again for Season 2 with the "Tin Man"-esk "Gamekeeper".

When SG-1 discover strange devices in an alien facility, they soon find themselves reliving their past...but are these experiences real or is something more sinister at play.

For the first time this season, there isn't really much to talk about - so while the Get Into Gate team breakdown the episode, they also put their own answers to a question the episode asks and also talk about the importance of one Richard Dean Anderson.
