Get Into Gate: A Stargate Podcast

SG-1 Season 2 again continues a strong start and universe-building with Episode 3: "Prisoners".

When SG-1 unknowingly assist a murderer on an alien planet, they are sentenced to life in prison and banished to an unknown world. There is no DHD, no escape from the prison and seemingly no allies - can the SGC rescue them from their captors?

Despite early fears of repeating Season 1's third episode lull, "Prisoners" introduces a character long time fans will recognise and new ones may not see coming - and what gate travel rules does the episode subtly reveal...and does it even make sense?

Get Into Gate is a weekly celebration of all things STARGATE to you by the team behind Get Into Geek. When we discovered one of our own, Rhys, had never seen one second of STARGATE and was forever left out of our in-jokes throwback references, the rest of the team decided to rediscover it with him and breakdown the series one episode at a time.

SG-1 Season 2 continues a strong start with the OTHER Goa'uld double agent episode: "In The Line Of Duty".

When Carter is infested on an alien planet, the SGC unknowingly play host to a Goa'uld symbiote...but why is this Goa'uld being hunted by another? And how will Carter escape with her life?

The episode has the makings of being a remake of Episode 2 of Season 1, but why is this different? And what rules does this episode break...and more so, what does it set that later stories rewrite?

Season 2 of SG-1 kicks off with a bang in the premiere episode, "The Serpent's Lair".

With SG-1 stowed away on Apophis's ship on a warpath toward Earth, only they and an old ally can prevent the coming attack.

Rhys takes us through his thoughts on the epic finale to last season's finale storyline PLUS Brendan & Matty can finally put to rest a six-episode argument...or can they?

Season 1 is over - now it's time to really break things down.

Using Matty's 'Rule Of 7', we split the entire first season of STARGATE SG-1 into groups of 'great', 'good' and - as Brendan puts it - 'horseshoe' episodes.

The team haven't agreed on much the last few weeks - will we see eye to eye overall?

Season 1 has come to an end with the excellent "Within The Serpent's Grasp".

Despite the last two episodes, the Get Into Gate team still remain a unit & can wholeheartedly agree on this episode.

When SG-1 decide to break ranks and journey out to Jackson's mysterious coordinates, they find themselves unable to gate back home - but as their mission continues, they find being stranded is far from the worst thing in the way..

We're back & Episode 20 is up! Mitch, Brendan, Matty & Rhys talk SG-1's “Politics".

Unity is over...again! In a total 180 on last week, Matty loves this episode, while the other boys really, really do not.

Instead of following on from last week's cliffhanger, the powers that were decided on a clip show on the eve of the season finale.

Episode 19 is up! Mitch, Brendan, Matty & Rhys talk SG-1's “There But For The Grace Of God".

Unity is over! In what's set to be a turbulent two weeks for Get Into Gate, this week's Stargate episode earns undying love from most of the team and unforgiving hate from the other.

After touching a mysterious alien device, Daniel Jackson returns to Earth to find himself under arrest, believed to be a Goa'uld spy. With many things seemingly out of order, Daniel - along with Doctor Samantha Carter - theorise his has been transported to an alternate dimension...and one where Apophis's forces are midway through a devastating attack on Earth.

Episode 18 is up! Mitch, Brendan, Matty & Rhys talk SG-1's “Tin Man".

Across the board, "Tin Man" is one of the team's favourite episodes and is one of the first to ask some very serious existential (and ethical) questions - paving the way for the show to become what the existing fans love it for.

After falling unconscious during a mission, SG-1 return to Stargate Command only to find that they are not themselves, but Android "copies". While General Hammond wants to hold them prisoner, thinking they are Goa'uld spies, SG-1 know who they are but must return to the alien world and find out what happened to them and more importantly - how it can be reversed.
