This week in Episode 13 of #GetJasched I get to have a conversation with Luke Dam, CEO of Safety Wise, running incident investigations and ICAM (Incident Cause Analysis Method) training worldwide - to ensure quality, standard, and governance across industries, and former Victoria State Emergency Service first responder of over 16 years.
In this conversation, Luke shares from his wealth of experience in leadership on the different kinds of leadership required in different situations, from emergency to office workplace, and the need for trust and buy in from those you lead (and how he goes about it).
Luke also touches on the importance of courageous conversations (a familiar theme in these conversations), particularly the role it plays in change management, plus a whole lot else on management, communication, and creative strategies for teams that need to work together.

This week in Episode 9 of #GetJasched I'm joined all the way from Austin, Texas by Serena Hicks.

In this episode we dive deep into the conversation around systematic (not 'systemic') racism, courageous conversation and being okay with saying the wrong thing as long as we're trying, creating spaces that contribute to a positive impact, and the waking up moments in our leadership and how we communicate. (Basically, it's a jam-packed conversation full of incredible insights from Serena!)
Serena is a bi-racial business and life coach who is kicking ass and all about lighting up those who have their hearts on fire for change. Serena also has a background in public relations, including a professional career at MTV News, MTV True Life, MTV Networks Special Events, and has won a daytime Emmy award for her work as Brand Integration Producer on the Tyra Banks Show.
Serena is also hosting an 'Anti-Racism School' coaching course for those who want a safe space to dive deep into this element of their growth.

This week in Episode 8 of #GetJasched, I'm joined by Christine Howard for our conversation!
Christine is a former Registered Nurse & Midwife, who then turned to education and lectured at Queensland University of Technology for 16 years, and has spent significant time as a national educator on two large palliative care projects. Christine then spent time working with people in indigenous communities, including time spent with in Torres Strait, to help improve health outcomes.
This conversation was recorded prior to the current world events around systemic racism, but is very poignant to the conversation. Christine shares around her experiences in indigenous communities and how she learnt a lot more from them than the other way around - including listening, hearing, and how we can (and need to) work together and collaborate to solve problems.
