Another great addition to the Brazos Bend Series.

"To call the mood between her and Mark strained was like saying the weather in hell was rather warm."

We met Mark in books 1 and 2. He is he twin brother of Luke (book 1). In book 2 we learn some of his past but it is brought up again in this book and is more detailed. While on a mission with his brothers to rescue a hometown girl from her bad choices, Mark stumbles upon his current but estranged wife. They are still married but haven't seen each other in many years - after he turned down her one desire and request of him. He offers her a divorce, she accepts and they go their separate ways; until their old unit "The Fixers" along with their families are being picked off one by one. Mark and Annabell pair up to find the killer(s).

This story takes them to Annabell's home in Kansas and soon after, forces Mark to confront his past and present.

There are tears, babys, fathers, sons and so many feels with this story.

A wonderful ending for this series

One of the things I love about this series is that not only the male characters are strong individuals, but that the female characters are represented as strong individuals with a brilliant minds.

I have loved the previous audiobooks in this series and this one did not disappoint. A series, based on the Callahan brothers. Brothers that not only have a strong bond , but they also share their dislike of their Father. Now each of them has served their country and are respectable men. This is Marks story .

Brett & Aubrey

You know that feeling you get when you finish and book and it was just what you needed.

This was that book for me. I enjoyed that Aubrey didnt have a job like you would think. And I loved that Brett was totally a Brett. LOL ..

Once you read the book you will see what I mean. I loved that emotions can sneak up on someone and BAM before you know it your in love. I think that is why I like romance so much.

I do wish Aubrey had told off her boss at least once. He very much deserved it. I will say this that I am glad no punches were thrown, its one thing I have noticed in a lot of books. And this didnt have that kind of drama at all. LOVED that.

Oh and the narration we have to talk about how yummy Rob Howards voice is and Mandy Lanes performance was perfect!

No just no. I don't know where to begin, it's that bad. Not only was the writing horrible.. the plot was so predictable and boring.. the narration SUCKED.. the female narrator needs to stick to her gender, please.

A Love Story 3 Generations in the Making

Rosalind James' story is wonderfully narrated by Emma Wilder. Each of the characters come to life under Emma's skillful vocalizations. This story doesn't just include Iain and Nina's burgeoning relationship but it also includes the mature love story of Iain's parents - a love story doesn't really end at "I do". The third generation gives lessons learned from life long love given by the widowed grandfather. Truly a multi-generational love story. But be prepared - just because there's more than one generation doesn't mean there is any less steam. I highly recommend this great pairing of story and narration.

Fantastic and different addition to the series

It is a refreshing book on many levels.

First it somehow manages to combine several romantic genres (rugby romance, suspense romance, fairytale romance) successfully and contain realistic characters. It is no spoiler to say that the fairytale aspect of this book is approached very differently than other romance books. And for readers, I think really, as long as you like a good romance with a slow, satisfying build-up you will love this book even if none of these genres appeal to you, because really, it is just a great multi-generational romantic tale of several characters. The interaction between the generations is particularly interesting in this book, and the grandfather's interactions with Iain and Nina are right up there with my favorite parts of this book.

It is completely different than other books in this series (which is true of all the books in the series) and not a rehash of an old plot.

Yes the romantic protagonists Iain and Nina have great chemistry and heat, but James really puts together an ensemble of characters with great chemistry and she looks at love from different perspectives. Nina is a particularly interesting character to me. Like Iain, it can be hard for me to see things from her point of view, but she always has tangible reasons and that is what makes what she does interesting.

Another good story by a wonderful storyteller

An enjoyable story by a master of the family saga stories. Always meticulously researched and written well to draw in the reader/listener. My only complaint would be that I wish the narrator would have researched the correct pronunciation for Spokane. The rest of the narration was spot on but it grinded the wrong way every time she said "Spoke-ane" rather than "Spoke-Ann"

Another great narrative

I'm so glad it was a woman reading the story, it suits Di's books so much better.

As always the description of the land and the people are magnificent.

Despite the hardships it is still a feel good story and I was so disappointed it had finished.

This story as a whole was good. Listening to Accidently On Purpose Tethered and Girl Code, I never thought about Masons Character that much. It was so much I never would have guest about her had I not listened to Things Remembered. Thanks to the author for allowing us to meet and get to know Mason and Grant of course :o).

Also I really wanted to hear more about Donya and Emmet because they are my favorite and had hoped that they were included. It was so wonderful being able to get Emmets POV. After finishing Tethered, I wanted more from D and Es story so I thought to myself that I wish we had an Emmets POV book to read. So Thank you L D Davis! Also feel free to add more to the Soulmates(Donya and Emmet) story in the near future. :o)

Now back to the story at hand, I had no Idea how drug addiction works when trying to get clean nor did I know about victims of sexual crimes being victimized again by law enforcement sometimes. These were all great revelations that should be talked about. Im happy Mason did what she thought was a great step towards justice. I dont want to spoil anything for others, but this was a great story of hope, love and perseverance. If youre a fan of the stories, youll love to hear about some of your favorites and also meet some new people that youll love.

Just not for me...

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I am usually pretty easy as a critic, and unfortunately (in this case), I am one to always finish a book, but this book just seemed to drag on, and on, and on, and on... The 2 main characters just seemed to have no flaws, and there wasn't really any ups and downs in the story. I honestly, just wanted more from the story.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Just as expected, very predictable ending. And I am not saying that as a bad thing. I don't really mind a predictable ending when it comes to a romance novel. I want a happy ending

What aspect of Paul Woodsons performance would you have changed?

His performance wasn't all that bad, I just didn't think that his voice fit the story. He actually has a great voice, and I would listen to another story with him as narrator. When you have a story about an ex-con that hangs out with a bunch of bikers, I expect something deeper, more gravely.

To me, this story almost felt like something you would read as fanfiction. Writing was good, but the story just seemed so... picturesque at times. I'm not sure if it was the narrator and the fact that I didn't think his voice fit with the story, or the lovey dove unrealistic story line, but this book just didn't do it for me. This was my 1st book by this author, and there are more by her that I would like to read/listen to, hopefully, I will enjoy them more.

A very sweet, feel good story which had me swooning and my ovaries exploding!! This is a great story for when you are after a book that will leave you with happy heart feels and goosebumps!

Stand Out...

What stood out for me in this book was how Truman stood in the gap for his siblings even though he didn't have to. I love how a young single guy put his life on hold to do this. He also found a gem in Gemma (no pun intended). It was also gratifying to listen as well read this moving story. It really made it more enjoyable.

Love this book

I love every chapter of this book by listening to every detail of the story I would read it all over again.

British Accent?

Liked the story but was had to get past the British accent send terminology. This takes place in the US with American characters.

such a shame

this story would have been much better either read, or with a different narrator. The narrator on this one did an excellent job, but has such a strong European accent that narrating a story set in Maine is a joke, and actually pulled me out of the story and distorted the magic. if the story had been set in England, Ireland, or even South Africa, then the voice would have helped to transport me, too bad.

REALLY NICE LISTEN

I really liked this book. It was a super cute love story, very light and made me smile, but yet, definitely keeping me interested that I listened to almost straight through. Some really good steamy parts but they didnt take over the story. loved the characters. I loved the strong woman Fiona was! of course, the narration was great! I LOVE every book that Tracy Marks narrates. she is one of my top 3 favorites. Not sure if I've listened to Marcio before but I liked him. I wish the story had been longer for the price of the credit but it was still worth it.

A sexy, fun love story

Fiona and Nathan are like oil and water. She's sworn off men, and he's a no romance womanizer. But when their lives cross paths in an unexpected business venture, they both are taken down a path they never expected. The story is fun and witty, and the sex is hot! A great book!

This story was short and sweet. What I enjoyed most was the sweet epilogue and the female narrator's parts. Tracy Marks did a great job for both the male and female parts! The male narrated parts were a little hard to get through. Those parts just didn't flow smoothly.

I liked the book. It had a great story line but the male voice made me cringe. I almost stopped on several occasion. The lack of emotion, the sound of it. I'm not positive.

Sarina Bowen has done it again. Jude is one of the most beautifully written characters that I have ever encountered and the narrators knocked it out of the park. I didn't think that I could love this novel any more than I did after I read it... outstanding work.

I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I loved this audiobook as a continuation in a series or a standalone. I had previously purchased the ebook and audio upgrade for the first book in the series, but hadn't gotten around to listening to it yet. I went ahead and listened to it first when I was given this second installment. I was unsure how I would like them since this is my first experience with the author and the narrators. However, the author and narrator, Jeffrey Kafer are praised and highly recommended in my facebook group Aural Fixation, so I thought I should give them a try. I FLoved them!!! The writing is excellent with the characters and their world, and the narrators did an excellent job of bringing them to life. I fell in love with Jeffrey Kafer's sexy, gruff and growly voice. I am now looking up other titles of his work to listen to. I can't wait for the third installment of this series to be released so I can emerge myself back into this world. Highly recommended.

couldn't believe there would be a happy ending anywhere in this book!! what a twist at the end. Have loved all this authors books!! Read them all and now am listening to them. You won't be sorry to buy any idea hers.

Great Listen

I usually stay away from books about high school and teenage angst, but this coming of age story, overcoming addiction, overcoming heartbreak, and finding truth is more than worth the listen. I read the book and listened to the story. I loved the portrayal of the characters by Seraphine Valentine and Jeffrey Kafer, both new narrators to me. I thought they did a great job. It is the first book by this author for me as well. As I said, I usually avoid these types of stories, but this one caught me and kept me interested and rooting for the characters to find their way. More than worth your time and the listen.
