Very worth reading

The book provides an insightful analysis of what appears to be a voluntary retreat from the labor force of a steadily increasing fraction of the productive age US male population. These non-working men are not being captured by the unemployment statistics, which refer to people currently without a job but actively seeking employment. Time will show whether this phenomenon is transient and will take care of itself, or it will have lasting detrimental effects on the economy as a whole, or it is an early sign of the transition to a segmented society in which a skilled portion of the population holds high paying jobs, while the rest subsists on a sort of guaranteed minimum income.

A book both Presidential candidates should read, but probably won't.

Author Nicholas Eberstadt tries to explain a phenomenon that is well known to those who study labor statistics but perhaps less well-known among the general public, the increase over the last several decades in the share of men who are outside the labor force. While this change is not unique to the U.S., Eberstadt notes it is more pronounced in this country, even while our overall labor force participation (LFP) rate remains high relative to many of our developed world peers because of high female labor force participation. Those outside the labor force, meaning they are neither working nor seeking work, tend to be disproportionately less educated, unmarried and native born (as opposed to immigrants).

Dull and no balanced level of detail

The book promises a guide to blockchain technology, but fails to deliver a guide. It steps over certain crucial and complicated concepts making it difficult to understand for people new to the blockchain. In other chapters there is a lot of unnecessary detail in examples. The complete list of bank projects with redundant details on linkedin quotes and hackathon winners of 2014, doesn't teach the reader anything. They could have given examples and analogies explaining all concepts and jargon much better.

If you want to learn how the blockchain works this is not the book for you.

Hard to listen to.

Audio was read by a monotone computer voice not a narrator so was hard to listen to and understand. Good information though.

Its a bit dry

But I suppose that goes with the territory. It covers the topic in a broad sense but to use it you will need to delve deeper for sure.

A disappointing purchase of lists

This book starts strong with the introduction and finishes reasonably well by urging the reader to learn more. In between both ends of the book seems to be recital of endless lists of who is using blockchain and for what. The content could just as well be someone regurgitating the results of a Goggle search. Company A does this, company B says they will do that, company C plans to do the other, company D is working with Company A, and so on for the entire book. Little content beyond a description for each company, and chapter after chapter. On the upside if you want to know who is doing what with blockchain and you do not want to do a couple quick searches online, this book is perfect!

Great Way to Get Caught Up to Speed

This book did a great job of slowly introducing the blockchain to the reader and connecting it to concepts already known.

Boring , generic and redundant

This book was really disappointing , it talks in generic terms about an upcoming block chain technology without scratching the surface or going into an it if effort to explain more than what u can get from reading a couple of articles about the subject , many chapters are redundant as they mention the same ideas (e.g. Similarities between blockchain and internet revolution was mention at least three times ) , the authors also spend 2-3 minutes describing the chapter (e.g why do you need to know about block chain benefits or myths) and other non useful introductory talk that takes at least one third of this short book. There are plenty of other good books about the blockchain, don't waste your money on this one , google blockchain and read the first three articles you get about t instead

Very interesting

Very good book that tells both sides of the story of bitcoin. It had me realize the value of studying further with its core blockchain

Great book!

Now I understand what a crypto currency is, it's origins and the various technologies behind it. I recommend this book as the best start to understanding this new thing.

Good book for beginners

Unfortunately most of this information is rather basic & freely available elsewhere. I was hoping I'd learn a lot more. If you're new to Cryptocurrencies then this book does have plenty to offer. There's an excellent account of the history of Bitcoin & the rise & fall & rise of digital currency. I felt that the book catered toward the beginner & sadly I learned nothing from it.

A great way to go from zero if not to hero, then at least to informed. Authoritative, balanced and well written, this is a really good first book on the subject for the curious.

Absolutely this book contains so much information and so many different stories that all come together very well to tell the story of how China used the greed of the United States to slingshot forward in technological advancement.

Jim Kennedy's story is extremely compelling and it really shows how much one's life can change and his disappointment in his government and his continued efforts to help bring prosperity and security to his country.
