    Great read!
This is a story of Ellie who lost her parents and is raised by friends of her family that are in show business. She was an assistant to the actress, Magdalena. However, the actress was offered a career in acting and Ellie was not included. Ellie found herself without a job and started looking for work. In the meantime, back in Arizona at a mine a group of men are discussing how to find out who has been stealing their silver. If this keeps on, they won't have anything. They decide to call on the Pinkerton agency to send someone to help solve the case. Ellie overhears 2 men talking about needing a female to help solve the case. Once they go inside Ellie confronts them about a job. After much convincing she is on her way to Arizona. She is to play the part of an elderly lady and supposedly meet up with a younger woman that she will be assisting. I won't go into details yet the woman will not be going with her to Arizona. Once she arrives she meets Amos,Donald, Myra, Tom, the sheriff, Steven and others. This is when the story truly begins. She will have to find out who the thieves are, yet being an elderly woman it is difficult to find out information that she needs so she starts to dress up as a younger woman as well. There will be attempts made on her life, she knows she can trust Steven yet no one can know she is working for the Pinkerton's. This is a great story with a great ending.
Engaging and Fun Historical with lots of Surprises
Shakespeare said, "All the world is a stage, and all the men and women are merely players; they have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts..."
These words explain the premise of this book perfectly. In enters main character Ellie Moore a starlet wannabee, who is a wardrobe, make-up and hair stylist person in the theatre for a well known actress. Ellie takes her job seriously and watches the leading ladies so she can learn to be the best when it was her turn to be on stage.
Well Ellie gets that big break but it's not exactly the part of her dreams. Her break comes to her in the most bizarre way and she uses the world as her stage literally. She needed a job and she would make this part work, even if it killed her.

Moonspun Magic i another catherine coulter hit. Danger, hate, vile deeds murder and rape. Thats just the beginning of a great story.
    Trilogy complete!!
It was the third in the trilogy. Since it is out of print I was glad to find it. And it was in great condition for 1cent !!!
    Couldn't buy into the idea
I'm not too sure how believeable the idea is. I myself would find it difficult to "fall in love" with someone who looked exactly like the person who was an ass to me.

    Arizona, 1910
Dear Diary, It will take more than threats - and one overbearing rancher - to drive me away from my rightful property....
When I inherited this isolated land near the Mexican border, I knew running it would be difficult and dangerous - very different from my privileged life in Louisiana, where I was the genteel Miss Trilby Lang. But I certainly didn't expect that my neighbor, Thorn Vance, would be challenging me at every turn. Or that his brusque, ruggedly appealing ways would prove a dangerous temptation that I'm finding harder and harder to resist. Now, with trouble sweeping the territory, I need his help. But how much will I risk putting myself in the hands of a man who's used to getting exactly what he wants?

    Excellent Diana Palmer Historical Western
Excellent historical western by Diana Palmer. Loved the main romance story of Thorne and Trilby, but the other two romanes almost steal the book. Great read. I still have the paperback edition with the Fabio cover!
I love the history portrayed here
I love the history portrayed here. I think the characters are right on the spot. She writes with a light hand on her characters and lets them create themselves. At least that is the way it seems to me. I have read a lot of her books and I enjoy her older books. They aren't as full of sex and have more plot than a lot of the newer books. I recommend this book because I liked it period.
    Palmer wins again!!!
This is another of Palmer's historical books. And like her other historical books, this one doesn't take place in the far distance past, it take place around the beginning of the 19th century... the time of my grandparents! I found it true to what was going on at the time, not making the characters act in current ways and current morals. I really hate authors who rewrite history and Palmer doesn't. She draws you in to the point it is hard to put this book down! Her characters are real and her story line believable! Is it any wonder when I want a good book to read, I re-read hers!
...But the Songf Remains the Same
I've read a ton of Diana Palmer novels and it very often seems that I'm reading the same book over and over with just title and the era and/or names and/or geographic setting changed.
    Wonderful book
A story of love and survival where women had to be strong and men actually respected them imagine that! all the characters seemed so real the story took you back to a time where life was hard but being in love made it seem easy

    More, More, More Please!
I really enjoyed this book. JF's romance novels have not only the requisite romance we want, they have wonderful story lines. All of her books catch your attention from the beginning and hold onto you until the very end. The characters are engaging and the author's background in the social sciences is evident by her in-depth character personality development. After reading the first book in this trilogy I couldnt wait to see how Jasper's younger twin brothers would meet their "brides of questionable repute". Half-way through this book I went on-line to see if Audible had the last book in the trilogy. I was so disappointed to find it is not listed. I went to the authors web site and discovered this book was just released in July 2011, so perhaps Ms. Feather has not yet written the third book in the trilogy. I hope she won't make her fans wait! One thing I did discover though, is there are MANY Jane Feather books on Amazon available for the kindle I would like to see available on Audible. Come on Audible, please get more of this fantastic authors books!

Setting this tale in 1918 Boston against the backdrop of the Great War and the influenza pandemic, Mitchell contrasts the traditional Italian upbringing of three young ladies with the bustling American lifestyle they crave. As they toil in an elegant gown shop, Julietta, Annamaria, and Lucianna hope one day to embrace the American dream and find true love.
    Members Reviews:
    Enjoyable but not well developed
I bought this book because I was going to be in a play with Italian characters and I wanted to get the accents down right. The reader is very good and I would buy something read by her again. The story is very sweet but this book is light and a little fluffy even though it deals with quite a few serious subjects. The Christian theme is not mentioned and faith plays a very small role in the whole book. I felt that far too much time was spent on the girls before they met their prospective heros so that the romance seemed rushed. Mitchell does do a good job with historical detail although she is not correct in the Author's Note which tells more about the 1918 backround. (The Author's Note is not part of the audio addition.) The author's light style suited her book "She Walks With Beauty," but does not quite suit this which should have been better developed. It is a shame she did not have an extra 100 pages to expand.
    Mainstream with Three Romance
Another wonderful plot, in a totally different time and culture, from Author Siri Mitchell. Although this is more of a mainstream novel with three romances wrapped in its intricate plot, instead if a staging romance, I loved it! Seeing New York immigrants from a culture other than Irish and getting to share the lives of 4 Italian women, truly entertained. It stars a little slow with introductions to many characters. It's worth the slow start.
    4 1/2 stars
This is the 3rd book I've read from this author. Loved the characters, story and fact it's clean. But 1/2 point off for this one because the author periodically makes comments to the reader which I felt distracted from the story.
    Good but not author's best
    Any additional comments?
    I LOVED Siri Mitchell's book

    All of it!
For me, all of what the classic Historical Romance offers is in this book; while at that, it is excellent. Enjoy a love story filled with suspense, romance, sexy scenes, willing heroine, complicated hero, and humor-A perfect narrator tops it all. You will not be disappointed.
    accidental story
This story had much potential, but the actions of the idiotic Emily, were beyond belief. She wants one thing - the love of her "husband" but does everything she can think of to make sure she doesn't get it! He should have given up weeks before.

The year is 1909, and Temperance O'Neil is a woman ahead of her time. At 29, she is happily married to her work helping single mothers on the streets of New York. Unfortunately, Angus McCairn - her new stepfather - controls the purse strings to her substantial inheritance. Angus insists she quit her career and live in his house in Edinburgh.

Temperance is determined to win her return passage at any cost. But the cost may be her heart...for as Temperance O'Neil attempts to open James' eyes to the wonders of love, it is she herself who is liberated - by the power of an overwhelming passion.

    A Wonderful Book-
I believe this to be my first Jude Deveraux book, and I LOVED it! It had so many poignant, funny, nearly heartbreaking things going on; but in short, like all of us, the characters grow up and make their way through the world we call life. I can tell from her writing that the author is herself quite grown up; as I believe from 60 years of voracious reading that you cannot write believably about things you not know of. It is not a fluff piece, it is as real as any author could possibly make it. The youngsters writing romances write from their perspective and usually it is fine; but in a epic that relates the growing up of a clan, country, or man/woman it takes some of understanding of the time it takes and the problems we all struggled / struggle with and if we haven't then we are still in kindergarten. Her books are more expensive, so I will need to save my pennies, but be assured I will be buying her books one by one and enjoying them until I cannot read anymore, and then it will not matter. I hope she writes many more books, she says what she needs to say intelligently and realistically and I appreciate that so very much, Thank you!
    Beautiful and Spicy
Jude Deveraux has written a delightful romance with twist and turn of a mystery. I thought I had guessed the ending, but was happily surprised. The main characters are beautiful and spicy. The setting is more than interesting. The relationships are real.
    Temptation by Jude Deveraux
I gave this book a five star rating because I love all of Jude Deveraux's books! I have all her books in hard and soft copy. She writes with such feeling that I have trouble putting down her books. I would recommend this book to all romantic's and advise them to buy everyone of her others.
    Lovely story
I really enjoyed this book. It has everything I like about a good read; romance, comedy and a little mystery. I definitely recommend it. It could not put it down until I got to the end and then I was disappointed it was over. I wanted to continue reading and being part of life in the Clan.
    Pure or prude
Another WONDERFUL book by this author.

Struggling to get through the first half!
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The narration is cold and haughty. It's difficult to distinguish the characters from the aloofness and unemotional tone of the narration. Mostly I feel like the characters are unlikable.
Would you recommend Lessons of Desire to your friends? Why or why not?
No. I will finish it because I paid for it, but I mostly use the book to fall asleep. Sounds rude, but it is absolutely true.
What didnt you like about Jill Tanners performance?
She is emotionless. Her narration causes the characters to come off as emotionless and unlikable. I cannot cheer for them or even like them. They seem to have no pathos.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No. I don't care about the objectives of the characters. The seduction scenes are so cold that I cannot believe that anything meaningful exists between the characters other than calculated manipulation.
    Any additional comments?
I will not take another chance on this author or narrator because I cannot tell if the problem is with one, the other, or both.
    Not Worth the Credit
Would you try another book from Madeline Hunter and/or Jill Tanner?
I really like Madeline Hunter, but this book isn't up to her usual writing standard. The story is boring.
    Any additional comments?
Not sure why this book was rated so highly.
    Great
The story was well done. I love the characters and their complicated lives and ideals. The romance was unusual and intriguing. Meredith writes engaging love scenes that are sensuous and romantic. It was a different type of love story with a satisfying end.
    Boring
This book was the essence of boring - stimulating no interest or enthusiasm
Not what you may think, but still very good.
A story that has and old time way breaking away the barriers of the Man vs. Women. Both characters are very strong, and sometimes down right erritating to the point that you want to yell at them to "wake up". If you like the 1800's, a lesson in compromise and a great desire for romance - than this one is for you!
