Tighty Whities

My 9 year old loves it, and so did I! Jiggy comes off a bit snarky. Which kept me from giving it 5 stars. He's just slightly disrespectful, something I wouldn't necessarily want my son to emulate. Also, some of the jokes went over his head. But that's ok. Overall it was a funny, and adventurous story.

A big hit with my 5 year olds.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this to any younger children who speak German. I've lost count how many times my boys have listened to this in the car!

What did you like best about this story?

It is really one big story divided into smaller stories. The stories are not so simple as to be boring, but not so complicated that younger children can't understand them. They are also quite amusing, we've all laughed out loud at some bits.

What about Philipp Schepmanns performance did you like?

He does great voices for the different characters. He also speaks clearly, especially important when you're listening in the car.

My boys love Hank the Cow Dog!

My son was excited to receive this and several others for Christmas. It's great to have a fun series to go to for books for my boys. They both have enjoyed them - high level 2nd grade reader through 6th grade reader in the time they've been reading this series.

Not the best of Hank, but still fun

The CD audio books are better bets for your 7-12 year olds than the printed books. The characters come to life with the readings. It is a frolicking funn story.

Great series

My daughter loves all the A to Z Mystery books, we are working our way through the series and she very much enjoys learning the characters. While they are all connected each one could also read as a stand alone as thing are elaborated on and not just assumed that the reader has read all previous books.

Very good book

Amazing!

That was a sort of creepy book (not to mention FREAKY) but truly amazing! I would definitely recommend this book to you because it has a lot of excitement. A 1-sentence summary for the book would be that a prince is being kidnapped and Sammi's (the prince's) parents are being kidnapped in Costa Rica)! This book is cliffhanger and will keep you reading the whole book in 1 day (which is what happened to me).

A great series

This set of books has three kids that demonstrate positive characteristics such as honesty, creative thinking, helping others and so on.

In this mystery a king is kidnapped and then a young prince is kidnapped.

The three young children in this series eventually solve the problem.

My young son enjoys this series. It is written to an interest level of about 7 to 10 years old. It is written with a reading level at about a 2.5 grade level.

Enjoy.

Up In The Sky! It's a Pig!

It is only inevitable that the indefagatible Frederic Bean, bank manager, newspaper owner, detective, and overall pig extraordinaire should also become an ace barnstormer. How this comes to be is the subject of "Freddy the Pilot" a 1952 effort by Freddy's creator Walter R. Brooks. It all starts when Boomschmidt's Stupendous and Unexcelled Circus returns to Centerboro a bit early so that Mr. Boomschmidt can enlist Freddy's help in solving a dilemma the circus is in.

The star of the circus is the beautiful Mademoiselle Rosa, a bareback rider whose grace and ability are part of the Circus's special magic. Unfortunately, Watson P. Condiment, a very rich, but not particularly nice, comic book publisher has fallen in love with Rosa. Despite her refusal to encourage him, Condiment is fixated on his goal. So intent is he that he is more than willing to destroy the Circus entirely in order to propel Mademoiselle Rose into his arms.

The nefarious Mr. Condiment has tried many rotten tricks to close the Circus down, but the worst is having a plane dive bomb the Circus, blasting the audience with flour bag bombs. Mr. Boomschmidt keeps having to return the crowd's ticket money and is in great danger of going broke. Freddy summons his courage and decides to beard the mystery pilot in his den. Our pig shows up at the local air field and takes flying lessons. Soon he has his own plane and is preparing for his counter attack.

Freddy, assisted by his partner Mrs. Wiggins, a troop of Robin Hood-like skunks and the Horrible gang of scurrilous rabbits mount the effort designed to save the Circus and rescue Mademoiselle Rosa. The reader can count on a great deal of fun and excitement as one villain after another is rousted and sent on his way. The ingenious plot will even involve the U.S. Army and Uncle Ben's astonishing combination bomb sight and piggy bank.

Once again we are treated to a lovable adventure which teaches by example rather than lecture. The reader quickly finds out that courage, respect, and teamwork are the keys to success and happiness in Centerboro and the Bean Farm. Although late in the series, "Freddy the Pilot" can stand on its own without losing the reader. Kurt Wiese's original illustrations, always a treat, are exceptional in this volume, making it will worth its reasonable price.

Funny & engaging read aloud for the family.

My kids and I really enjoyed this book. I'd highly recommend it for 2nd-6th graders. Funny, engaging, and I love the kindle/audible bundle!

fun for halloween

Theme Based story based on a classic

My students (ages 3 - 6 with moderate to severe special needs) LOVE these books. I make sure to read (sing) the original version (There was an old lady who swallowed a spider...) several times throughout the year so it stays fresh. I read these theme versions when we are studying something close to it (read this one when we were studying Bats for science). Yes, I DO sing them and encourage participation! Great FUN!!! Collect them all!
