An Already Deliciously Dark and Captivating Erotic Vampire Romance Gets Even Better!

Caution: the review by "Amazon Customer" entitled "Amazing an Disbelief" contains a major spoiler, without notice, that will ruin a very important event in one of the books. Personally, I would have been very upset if I had read this review before reading the collection. Of course, I didn't bother reading any reviews b/c after reading books 1-3 I knew that I had to read the next books.

Granted due to the dark nature and some of the sensitive subject matter, this Series definitely isn't for everyone. Nevertheless, based on the number of reviews it is extremely surprising that more people haven't read this amazing Series. I'm hoping that maybe more people have read it but for whatever reason chose not to write a review. Oh well, on to my review. First:

WARNING: this collection is a very dark and very erotic vampire romance that include such subjects as attempted rape, sadist BSDM, a vampire pheromone induced orgy, unwanted biological sexual attraction and sex and physical violence against females. There are very explicit sex scenes vividly depicting vaginal and oral sex.

The 3 books only comprise 50% of the content of this compilation but not to worry I got more than my money's worth because the story in each book is rich, exciting and long enough that they provided a very satisfying reading experience. I consider the other 50% of content to be a boon because one receives 2 full novellas: Brolach: A Demon Series Novella volume 1 (10 Chapters) and Episode 1: Lycan : An Alpha Claim Brief-Bite novella series (14 chapters) and a sample of the "Ember: A Siren Novella Series" volume 1 (8 chapters). Woo hoo! Eros sure knows how to reward her readers.

This Series just gets better in this collection of books 4-6: Sow, Seed and Plow. As testament to just how much better, I literally had to force myself to stop and write this review before purchasing the compilation of books 7-9 and it was more difficult than you can ever imagine. Each book ends in a cliffhanger so book 4 picks up where book 3 left off. A new menace to the "human cattle" and a threat to the life and wellbeing of my favorite characters Cole, Rachel, Zack, Hollie, Andrew, Elias and Josiah came on the scene. They are called the "Faction" and if I thought the rogue were awful these guys are deliciously horrific. Eros continued to do an excellent job of creating diverse villains that in some instance I loved to hate and in some cases I just plain loathed. The plot/storyline continued to captivate, thrill and surprise.

I Didn't Like Anyone In The Story

This is a short read and if you only want a hot read, dirty talk and sex including adding a stranger and exhibitionism . None of those things bother me in particular but I just couldn't raise sympathy fir the abused wife or the frustrated twin brother. I also found the ending disturbing.

Think I would have preferred strangers and not have the situation irritate me.

The narrator was fine but hard to get excited when most of the story made me want to take a shower, unlike the heroine anyway for just some descriptive hot sex a nice quick listen.

Hero or Not

Not sure what to feel about this story. In one hand you have a terrify women of husband who beats her and the other hand you have his twin lusting after you. What is a women to do. The twin are so identical their parents can't tell them apart but she can. Must read to decide. I say his a Hero. Shocking storyline

This book starts out with the good intentions of Channing saving his sister-in-law from his abusive twin, Chad. I really enjoyed the beginning of this story, looking forward to see how the two would be able to reach their happy ending. Some hot sex scenes, decent character development and a few plot twists kept me going. Without giving anything away, I was not happy with the resolution of the story.

Gideon Welles was one of the reasons I was able to finish this book. He is a great narrator, with a rich, sensual voice, perfect for this erotic romance.

A lot happens in this short listen!

What made the experience of listening to Forbidden Obsession the most enjoyable?

For such a short story, the author really packed a lot into this book. It honestly took a lot of turns that I never saw coming. It kept me on my toes and curled them more than once!

I mentioned the turns above and I have to say that is what I liked best. I honestly do not want to give anything away because the surprises were really good.

Which scene was your favorite?

The unexpected fulfillment of wanton dirty desires for the h. That the H wanted that for her and did what he needed to do fulfill that need without hesitation.

A great guilty pleasure read!

This book was a juicy, guilty pleasure read for me. Emily Tilton does spanking sci-fi so well and this story did not disappoint. I could so empathize with the main character. As a professional, I could only imagine waking up one day and having corporal punishment a mainstay in my marriage. It was fun to watch the couple struggle through the changing dynamics of their marriage. Like I said, this book pushed a lot of fun buttons for me from the excerpts from the rules and advice given to the actual punishments.

Slow

Although I have enjoyed many of her books before this one had too much information and not enough action. I found it slow and boring. I also resent not getting my moneys worth, 45 minutes were left in the book which were used for advertising additional books she wrote. If I am promised 4 or 5 hours of reading material I should be able to expect that amount.

A suitable title!

I recall trying to read this book many years ago, and failing miserably, through lack of understanding and inability to comprehend the written language of that age.

The book, now, left me intriguingly stone cold. In short, a series of sexploits, barely strung together, that provided a highly colorful anatomy lesson of the female and male private parts.

I gave it two stars because no author, bring a creative mortal, deserves only one star.

A blast from the past

This one is a classic! What else is there to say? Centuries after it was written, it is still an interesting read and a bit racy for the time period. It is fun to read something so old and compare it to the writings of today.

Really Difficult one to Review

I bounced back and forth on what I thought of this book. For some reason I really disliked Jake (H)...I had a hard time getting past it and luckily the very last chapter finally made me have some faith in him.

The h, was sweet and wonderful with the children she was a nanny for, but her falling for the H really so easily I didn't really like.

The first sex scene just seemed to use some juvenile language and then changed to more adult language....I honestly rolled my eyes at times.

There was real potential here, close having another star or two...the mystery in the story was good. Just some of the dialogue didn't fly well in the story.

The narrator was excellent..I certainly would listen to her again.

This was an enjoyable listen. The concept was good enough to warrant a deeper content than the 3+ hours allowed but the author did well in creating the atmosphere and giving enough details to not feel any large gaps.

The narrator did well although her voice sounded very young.

I found it an easy, enjoyable listen with a mystery and not a lot of angst. I always like a HEA ending.

Short, but sweet and sexy

Would you consider the audio edition of Billionaire Romance: The Billionaire & The Babysitter to be better than the print version?

For this I can't say, because I have never read the print version, but I will say that the narrator did an awesome job with this book. It is always enjoyable when the person narrating the story enhances it in some way.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the fact that although it was short, I didn't feel like I was missing anything. The plot didn't feel rushed and the characters didn't feel underdeveloped. I know it has to be hard to do that when the story is a long as it could have been.

Still, at the end I wanted more. Not necessarily of the same characters, but this opened the gates for secondary characters to have a story.

Have you listened to any of Lissa Blackwells other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is a first for me narrated by Lissa Blackwell, but it will definitely not be my last.

Wonderful sequel

This is the next book in the series about Devine Designs. Elizabeth and Logan are now engaged and moving forward on their plans for designing Haven. When we meet everyone again, they are staying at a small hotel. Logan and Elizabeth, Ariel and Garrett, Nancy and Jason, Helen and Benjamin, Barbara, and Craig. Everyone is a couple except Barbara and Craig. Barbara is hurting from her divorce and, of course, Craig is a Dom. When Barbara says some mean things, Craig takes her to task. Barbara is outraged, but the few spanks that Craig gives her starts her thinking. Over the weekend, Barbara and Craig get to know one another better and finally, Barbara goes to Craig for her spanking. But, she also feels that she needs a daddy, so they start doing a little age-play.

I really liked this book. First of all, it is a continuation of what happened in the first book. We find out about how Elizabeth and Loganâs relationship is moving along. We also learn a little about Ariel and Garrett. I think the next book will be focused on this couple. We also have some explanations. Barbara is asking questions and the other submissives are explaining why their relationships are the way they are. They explain that they gave their dominants the power to discipline them and that they can always take it back. It was very enlightening.

Disappointed

I really looked forward to the 3rd book, thought it was to be the last book. I did like the book. But I agree with others that wrote, 68% and that was the end of this book, it is just disappointing. Why do that? You know people are going to continue to read the books. When will the book of Dalton come out?

So Disappointed In this 3rd book!!!!

First of all I bought this third book in this series thinking I would get a whole story. But no!!! I read 65 percent and it's over. Then theirs ten characters of another book she trying to sell that I've already bought and read. Plus this book didn't actually have an ending and was nothing compared to being as interesting as the first two. I really free like I should get a refund Melody Anne. Then she announced the coming of a fourth book. No thank you Melody you better start dreaming better ending next time.

No real 'ah ha' moment for Elena

I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting out of this third book in the series. I did downgrade my rating to a 3.

Elena continues to delve into the darker side of her desires and makes not a new friend but a better friend in the process. Darcy is Dalton's (insert adjective here) but she and Elena have a connection as well. Once Elena has left Dalton he continues to come into and out of her life at the moment when she thinks he needed to be there so they can satisfy each other sexually the way no other can.

The more I read the more I was waiting for Elena to have that 'ah ha' moment that just never seemed to happen. It sort of does at the end but not the one I was expecting and not a full-on 'okay I get it now' moment.

I think perhaps the three books in this series could be reworked and the three made into two. The author has hinted, despite saying New Desires is the final in this series, that another book is coming that will give readers Dalton's perspective. There is definitely a cliffhanger at the end of the epilogue.

Give the series a chance. Reading it from the author's own pen, this was definitely a departure from what she usually writes and I've read quite a bit of her stuff.

OMG

I can't get enough of Elena's story. At first I thought this one was the last one, but what a surprise.

Can't wait for the next one!!

Looking just at the cover photo and the title, I honestly expected a short, sexy read that would hopefully make me melt. Well I am happy to say that not only did it deliver but underneath all the passionate and wild trysts was a blossoming love that like the heroine, I never saw coming.

Nina Lane proves once again that she can write some of THE most erotic scenes and yet somehow make it evolve into something tender and touching. This unexpected pairing of the uptight PTO President and the younger and very handsome new Principal had me from page one. I was completely intrigued at how this story would unravel with the very-much married Madeline Collins having a not-so secret affair with the single and swoonworthy Ben Hunter. I didn't know if I would accept Maddie jeopardizing her marriage and standing in the community for a heated affair with the very demanding Mr. Hunter. But after their first encounter, and both their reactions to their insane chemistry, I just knew this was a book that would have me fanning myself and often.

But what transpires after that first erotic tryst is what had me hooked. You get to watch as they start to fall for one another and see that Madeline could be any woman out there who just wants more but never took the time to realize that seemingly simple notion. When hard decisions are made for the sake of her children, I was torn between wanting what I thought Maddie deserved and what she truly needed.

I loved the way the story evolved and the affection I felt for these two characters. I didn't expect to want their HEA and honestly didn't know how it would all end. It is worth reading to find out for yourself. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am hopeful we might see them again someday. Great characters, exceptional writing and a story that could have been any woman's journey.

Very well written story involving a loveless marriage and a risk that changed several lives forever.

I loved Ben and Maddie and sure do hope we have another book that continues their story. I really want to read more about them! Although their book ended on a great note, I was so caught up in their story I wanted to see what would happen next, after that last page was over. What made the experience of listening to Sarge the most enjoyable?

The clarity of delivery, the pacing and cadence, brought to life the dehumanizing horrors of war in a SF setting that's rendered with extraordinary economy and impact. The narrator's distinct voices captured the essence of each character. Their erotic encounters served the story and peeled away the layers that revealed what made each man tick. The narrator captured and held my attention from the get-go.

What did you like best about this story?

The author does not hold back on the horrific realities of war and its consequences to those functioning as cannon fodder in service to agendas whose subtext can only be guessed at. This is raw, gritty and powerful stuff. And like the characters, all you want is for their part in the insanity of war to end, and when it does, abruptly, it will leave you gasping for air.

This is short story writing at its finest: parsimonious yet packed with incredible detail, a fine balance of character and action-driven plot, and off-the-charts sensuality amidst the chaos and senselessness of conflict.

Which character as performed by Nick J. Russo was your favorite?

Sarge, hands down. The gruff, raspy voice was exactly how I imagined the character sounding after having read the book. Enhancing that was how the narrator captured the subtle progression from Sarge as controlling taskmaster to a man coming to terms with his unexpected emotional connections to Murphy.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

When it comes to war, sometimes the best man to have at your back is the one on his knees...

Sarge compels the reader/listener to get down and dirty in the trenches with the characters, to get so invested in themin their quirks, the masks they wearthat you simply cannot look away or set the book down. Sarge is a masterclass in erotic writing, in scene setting and execution. It really will take your breath away.

Have you listened to any of Nick J. Russos other performances before? How does this one compare?

I dont listen to that many audios these days, but when I saw this was out, and Nick J. Russo was narrating, I one-clicked faster than a speeding bullet. I wasnt sure if he would be able to pull off Sarge and Murphy. Lets face it, they are unique characters and Mr. Deckard has painted very clear pictures of how they act and sound. Well, Mr. Russo did not disappoint. He brought these guys to life giving them distinct voices and mannerisms yet making it seem effortless. It is easy to see why he is such a popular narrator. I really hope he continues with book 2 of this series.
