for fans of Lake Woebegone & small town farm humor

Fans of Lake Woebegone would love this. This seems to be readings/performances from Michael Perry's books or essays and is all based on humorous hyperbolic tales of small town Foggy Crossing, WI. The stories are full of blustering farmers, gossiping farm wives, cows, trucks, and inept volunteer fire department volunteers. The material is funny but more predictable/cliched than Perry's other live recording (The Clodhopper Monologues). This one is told in a hokey "don'cha know" accent, and is told in third person rather than first person. I definitely prefer the latter title, which has a more natural delivery and comes off as more sincere storytelling than fictional performance. This feels more like a stage performance as a character than the author telling biographical stories live.

Great live stand-up comedy

This is an hour and a half of Dara O'Briain's show taped in Edinburgh. A great mixture of his tried and tested stand-up as well as his sharp comedy based on interacting with the audience. If you like his style on TV shows such as Mock the Week, this will have you chuckling along and listening again.

Absolutely hilarious. I listened to it when I went for a walk and kept bursting out laughing. This can be frightening for other walkers.

I have re-listened to this at least 10 times in the last 12 months or so. It is THAT good. Excellent value for money lol. It makes me laugh out loud every time. Excellent!

Loved it! Micky was extremely funny as usual. Enjoyed hearing his family talk about his former life and rise to the 'middle classes'

Funny and Entertaining

More Entertaining than funny but never the less I listened all the way through. There is something somewhat pleasing about his voice that makes you want to listen. Although everything he's saying is funny it's not exactly laughing out loud and more as a smile and occasional giggle once every ten minutes and ending with complete laughter probably about 4 to 5 times during.

Worth it? probably.

If your looking for an insight into someone's life then this is an excellent way of doing just that, but with a twist, someone's life with a laugh and a smile. An easy listen, that provides a good overview of Micky Flanagan. I smiled and laughted throughout. A good listen, we'll narrated by the author.

Excellent material, well told. I haven't lived in Glasgow for years but this made me miss the city and the batter so much. Kevin bridges has phenomenal talent - for being so young, I can only imagine how good he'll be when he's been doing this a decade or so.

Another great stand-up show

Great Scottish humour with stories most people will relate to. Bridges has an excellent way of delivering humour.

I was a fan of the DVD and just needed something for a long drive.

If you like Kev.i.n's standup then obviously you'll be a fan.

Good quality, does go quiet occasionally when he gesturing to crowd but nothing you can't work out what's going on

Absolute Drivel

very hard to understanding what stephen is saying and the main problem is that the comedy is very visual, certainly not suitbale for audio format. i only paid 1.99 for it so not too bothered about the cost but should be pulled from the library and no longer advertised. absolute drivel !

Most of the jokes are visual probably better watched on tv! Does not work in audio format at all

Comic Relief

I'm a huge fan of Dylan so this should be taken lightly unless you know his style. Nobody is safe and you will probably be offended at some point but it's worth it to hang in there for the next laugh.

Dylan Moran is his usual self.
