Fun for my 3 year olds

We love Splat the Cat so it was nice to see it as a I Can Read book. While we are a bit early to be reading we do sound out some of the words in the this book. It is long enough to keep their attention when I'm not "quizzing" and just reading. They enjoy the La La La that Splat sings out loud. Splat's class is going to sing for everyone's parents and families. As they all practice, Splat thinks about how shy he is and he is worried he cannot sing in front of everyone. His teacher, Mrs. Wimpydimple encourages him and he tries a few times and finally he sings after realizing that if his mouse, Seymour can come to a class full of cats everyday, he can sing in public. He sings -- la la la - very flat. The big night comes and Splay sings so hard he falls off the mat, SPLAT. Everyone laughs and Splat is a hit. His family is every proud. I thought it had a nice basic message. In addition to the story line - we are very amused by the teacher, Mrs. Wimpydimple's name each time we hear it. Seymour is also a fun addition. We often try to find him on the pages to see if he is somewhere in the background. I have already pre-ordered the new Splat books that will be released this Summer.

My 7 year old loves these books and theyâre great for helping her achieve leveled reading skills.

wonderful series but this one is not as good.

I started reading my three year old the Splat series and she absolutely loves them. All the Splat books are very well written and have beautiful and comical art style in them that really keeps a child's attention. Splat sings flat while cute and is on my daughters regular reading rotation it to me it just isn't as good a story as many of the others. Reading it on the Fire is easy and the pages display properly and are vivid. If your child likes this series it would be a welcome addition to your collection.

Splat does it again!

"Splat the Cat" books are just the most wonderful books and the first of the "I Can Read It" books does not disappoint. Lots of rhyming words and simple text that even a pre-schooler can pick up on. Not the high gloss of the hard cover books but it allows the child to take and work with the words and pictures without worry about expense. Simple story that tells a lot about character as usual.

Perfect book for a teacher. I bought this book for my grandsons teacher which I didn't care for. It's a cute book that could make a point.

On the first day of school, two of my grand daughter's teachers read their class books from the Black Lagoon series....

She was hooked from that day on. Now she wants to collect ALL of them.

My daughter fell in love with this series when she was in the first ...

My daughter fell in love with this series when she was in the first grade. We read the books together and she can read them independently, too. My son was 4 years old when we began reading the books aloud and enjoys the stories too! The Amazon price was so great that I purchased several copies for birthday party favors.

Love these books.

As a second grade teacher I bought multiple copies to use for guided reading. The kids loved this story and I bought January Jokers, too. They also love the A-Z Mysteries by Ron Roy. I saw a great leap in reading scores as they were so enthralled with these books.

Great Kids Book

Good Series

I was happy to find this new series for my students who like the A to Z Mysteries. The books are the perfect length for students who are just stepping into chapter books, and the content keeps them interested. I will definitely be buying more.

Bedtime favorite

My husband and I read these stories to my daughter at bedtime. The kids solve mysteries and use critical thinking skills to solve problems.

I purchased the first 4 books in this mystery series for my 7 year old granddaughter. She likes them.

Moderately entertaining

This mystery was okay, pretty straight forward with not much of a twist. The author featured a handicapped child in this one, which was great. My kids were a little stressed over the baby cubs being separated from their mama, but it was okay.

Great for my 8 year old niece

I purchased these for my 8 year old niece for her birthday (per her request). They are great for a child that loves to read and wants something a little more challenging/mysterious. She was very happy with these books. They seem to be great quality too. I highly recommend if you have a young reader in your home!

great read

My son loves these books. Great read for him. He's 8. It holds his attention. He reads it from cover to cover at one time. As a parent it's great to have a child that loves to read. I would recommend this book.

GREAT BOOK

This is a great book that makes me want to read all of it in one day. This book reminded me of my nightmare about me being in my backyard and then two big wolfs pop up and try to eat me. At least this story is not like that and it is a very great book. I started it yesterday and finished it today.

He takes Siv's egg and quickly flees. Siv is trapped and is greatly wounded but survives. Although she survives she does not see her chick grow up. It is a remarkable tale of love and friendship. It is the story of Grank.

My 5th graders loved this book series

Another great book by Kathryn Lasky

At first I thought the book was boring and read the epilogue when I reached chapter 4, but once I got a bit further, I traveled into the book and felt as if I was part of the story. Siv's mate, King Hrath, gets murdered and she has to make a heartbreaking decision. Frank teaches Theo, an eager learner and gizzard resister, to be the first blacksmith. Theo invented battle claws, and Siv survives the attacks from gadfeathers by thinking of her mate and unhatched son.

The book is astonishing and should be read
