    Publisher's Summary:
The ancient and dangerous secret of the Sime~Gen Mutation threatens to topple the ruling dynasty of the House of Zeor. How much torment can one teen girl take before the fate of the world doesn't matter to her anymore? How much psychic power can one young woman handle? It captures the reader and won't let go."
    Members Reviews:
    Another great Sime~Gen Story
Mahogany Trinrose follows a young girl on the verge of maturity, who's future is full of great potential and responsibility. Ercy has a dream, to help her father, who is technically junct - joined to the Kill, although he has never actually Killed anyone. Ercy is trying to grow a specific flower, the Mahogany Trinrose. Can she do it? Can she fulfill the destiny laid out ahead of her, as a Farris Channel and heir-apparent to the first Householding, Zeor? To find out, you have to read it, and it is well worth the time too. If you have read Unto Zeor, Forever, then you will be reacquainted with several of the characters, Digen Farris and Irahan to name two. Like the other novels in the Sime~Gen Universe, there are so many layers that you will get something different out of it with every re-read.
    I love this story
I love this story, the introduction ti the endowed Channels where magick meets science. I love it. She is delightful where she introduces us to the joys of being newly sime, and being a four plus Farriss channel.
    Quick service from Amazon
The book came very quickly after I ordered it. It is part of a series that I collect and was the missing book. Every book I have ordered from Amazon has been delivered very quickly and always top quality.
    Very good
Mahogany Trinrose is a coming of age story about a young teen on the cusp of a tremendous life change-event- turning into a sime. (A mutant human with tentacles). Added to her problems is her pet science-project learning to grow a mahogany trinrose, a flower which legend says has miraculous powers. This story revisits the world about 20 years from the events in Unto Zeor Forever, and so we get to see some characters like Digen, Mora, and Im from that series. (I confess I really like Imrahan and Digen).
While I personally do not care for young adult protagonists, Ercy is very endearing. She is earnest in her pursuit of trying to cure her father from his disjunction (a complicated condition in which a sime becomes addicted to the kill). While her father has never killed anyone, he had these pathways opened up during his relationship with a distect who suffered overdraw), and this has made it so Digen is forbidden to work and do what he likes most- be a channel. Digen and his family, which consists of Ercy, Her mother, and his bonded donor Im, work on a college campus.
Things change with the arrival of a strange new donor named Grant, whose gifts seem too good to be true, and whose abilities spark changes in Ercy.
Without spoilers, it's tough to go into detail of what I liked and didn't like about this story. I did find the `witchcraft' elements and past life stuff not to my particular taste, especially since I felt the time was a touch too modern for this... The heartthrob Grant, also seemed a touch wooden.

He and his 16-year-old sister Lupe take a quick trip to the home of Planet OMCOM, a computer the size of Earth, to upgrade a crucial piece of equipment. The trip was supposed to be easy, so easy Aason's father dubbed it a milk run. After Aason and Lupe complete the upgrade, Planet OMCOM convinces them to test his latest invention, the Null Fold X-drive. This new star-drive could be the key to unlocking the galaxy. During their first excursion into Null Space, disaster strikes. Strange beings, made solely of light, pluck Lupe right out of their spaceship. Aason's only clue to her whereabouts is the last three words Lupe spoke to him before she disappeared. Embarking on a desperate search, Aason travels 68 light years to the Nu2 Lupi star system where he is assaulted by man-eating creatures, hostile colonists, walking-talking plant people and a bodiless entity named Molokai that thinks it is a god. Aason discovers his only hope of rescuing his sister is to climb aboard the largest starship ever assembled and travel at unthinkable velocities to a dimension beyond comprehension, a place where his very soul could be in jeopardy. Set in the same universe as the Rome's Revolution trilogy, The Milk Run is cinematic in scope and offers an adventure filled with intrigue and meticulously researched hard science. It even has little green men! Will Aason find his long-lost sister? Will he lose his soul along the way? Find out in the action-packed science fiction novel The Milk Run.

    Fantastic, entertaining space adventure!
Would you consider the audio edition of The Milk Run to be better than the print version?
The Audible version of The Milk Run, read by the author, is lots of fun. I love listening to audio books before bed, and the performance in The MIlk Run was easy to listen to and to follow no matter how late the hour.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I enjoyed the characters many voices, in particular the metallic tones of the computer being in this audio version. All of the main characters in The Milk Run are very likeable. How can you not love a brother who will not give up searching, not matter the cost, until he saves his kidnapped sister?
    Which scene was your favorite?
Every scene in which Michael Brachman creates inventive, terrifying space creatures to put his characters in harm's way!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Absolutely the best aspect of this novel is its deep exploration of spirituality in the context of a adventure-filled science fiction novel. These scenes like the space travel scenes are truly vivid and cinematic.
    Any additional comments?
I am not typically a science fiction reader. Yet The Milk Run captivated me from the first page and kept my rapt attention throughout. Michael Brachman has an astonishing imagination! While the action-packed story is very engaging, it is the hard science behind every scene that makes this novel especially intriguing.
    An excellent read!!
Great storyline, fluid flow and very cerebral. Narration was first rate with a multitude of voices to envelop you deeper into the story. I found myself listening any free minute that I could get! I am looking forward to the other stories in the series to make their way to Audible. You will enjoy this immensely and I give it 5 stars.

Nye laesere kan meget passende begynde her.

    very original
this series thrust you right into the action with the wonderful way it's written and the excellent narration. I would love to see this as a TV series.
The action adventure of the year
I was surprised at the amount of action adventure and intrigue that was in this book. The emotional roller coaster of the main character was probably one of the most intriguing things I've heard in a while. The narrator did a fantastic job with the different voices that made you believe what was happening.
    Nautical Sci-Fi

    Publisher's Summary:
My name is Hope and I'd like to introduce you to our world. Earth is full of two races, the Avoidables and the Perfects. I'm an Avoidable because I only have one arm. I was born that way, apparently. Because of my defect, my mother had to move to the Lower Side. The Perfects are humans that have no physical flaws. They live in luxury, while we live in filth.
Avoidables have defects ranging from looks to unexplained gifts. Some of us are half breeds. Dragons and animals were known to have bred with the human race thousands of years ago. We all live in cities, usually divided in two. The Perfects live on the Upper Side, while the Avoidables inhabit the Lower Side. We've been consumed by hate for a race that rejects us so heartlessly. We've become dangerous.
I like to sneak over to their side sometimes. It's fun to watch how they live. To watch their perfect gorgeous faces react to the one-armed freak. Until I met Jason, anyway. He ignored the fact that I had one arm, even daring to touch my shoulder stub. What happened when he did blew my mind. I was no longer an ugly Avoidable. I was much, much better than any Perfect.

    Interesting new series!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would if they liked this genre...this is a very interesting story!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Avoidables: Serial 1: Episode 1?
    When Hope reads the journal!
What does Anna Ferguson bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
I love her accent...she gives the book a more interesting twist....I just wish the audio would have been recorded better...it was kinda tinny....and I hate that!!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did...its short and too the point...no dragging it out which I also hate.....its a nice flowing solid story!
    Any additional comments?
** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **
I enjoyed this, I enjoyed this enough to want more..and I hope we get another episode!
This is a story about a girl Named Hope, she was born with only one arm and shunned by a society who feels if you are not perfect, you need to be outcast to another part of town! They are actually called The Perfects and The Avoidables....how messed up is that? But the time has come where not everyone feels that way and both sides are sneakily trying to join forces and form a rebellion! There are Angels, and other cool things....and there is a bit of a love story starting and stopping, and perhaps starting again...and a bit of destiny mixed in here, in this short and very intriguing little story! I will continue this series! Well worth a listen!!!
    A Promising New Series
I liked the concept of THE AVOIDABLES and feel it has a lot pf promise. The story was good and had good characters. Hope is a great character who's an Avoidable because she has only one arm but she has wings. She meets Purple. I'm not quite sure about him yet. I'm uncertain if Purple is Jason. I like these characters and see this developing into a great series. Then there's Noland whose a likeable character.
A few places in the story left me wondering but I was definitely drawn in. I can see it developing into something really great. I look forward to seeing where Rachel Medhurst goes with the story.

Ok concept, too short to really enjoy
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, it's too short to even get the main idea across
Has Survival of the Fittest turned you off from other books in this genre?
    No
What about K. Anderson Yancys performance did you like?
The usual great effects, and I did enjoy this performance because there were a lot less annoyingly loud effects, more uniform sound levels.
    Any additional comments?
This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBlast dot com.
Not really sure what to make of it...
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Not really. It was only 14 minutes long on DL. I thought that was odd. The story itself was maybe 10 minutes long with the rest being like an advertisement and credits. It felt honestly like I was listening to a movie trailer with no real substance.
If youve listened to books by K. Anderson Yancy before, how does this one compare?
    N/A
How could the performance have been better?
I understand what they were going for, but all the sound effects and such just felt overdone. Additionally the author/reader had a strange intonation and over pronunciation of words that felt distracting.
Do you think Survival of the Fittest needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Well it's needs to actually BE a book. This was extremely short without much substance. The idea behind the story sounded like it could be interesting but again this simply felt like an advertisement or extended trailer and not really a book at all.

Hoping to return home, they pool their talents to construct a time machine. The escape plan is discovered, and the Pubbers learn that building the device is why they were kidnaped in the first place.
Five thousand years ago, they had promised their captors they would build the machine to save their race from extinction. To get home they must unravel what they've done in the past, figure out a plan for the future, and get home in an alien spacecraft, all while eluding two warring races. Simple, right?
    Members Reviews:
Glee + Friends with Big Bang cast
For the Time Being is a lighted romp with college science geniuses abducted by aliens and forced to build a time machine in order to dominate another alien race - and that's about as deep as it gets.Throughout the story, time paradoxes constantly arise as the details for time travel are worked out. Both alien races have a fur fetish as well as one with a craving for mushrooms and another that goes through a tree phase.
The sci-fi elements are crude, more consistent with golden age sci-fi with humanoid aliens with odd peccadilloes, faster than light drives, and a time machine. The science is minimally rendered, most of which has little internal consistency, while the alien races make little sense with features created mostly for weirdness. The gang of college students start as a quarreling, oddball collection that over time, fall in love and work together, to outsmart two alien races, build a time machine, and eventually get themselves home.
The narration is adequate, but unremarkable with a good range of voices, although the aliens are rendered quite artificial. This is story that does not take itself seriously and neither should the listener.
