Today was one of those days Kathy and I got a bit teary eyed living in Montana.
We recently asked you to take a survey and tell us what you like and don't like about our Get Real Content. We had a lot of responses. The man who developed the survey works with me and joins us to talk about it. This should be fun. Stick around.
There are a whole lot of liars in the world and after you listen to this podcast and check out the documentary it is based on you will wonder what the fuck is going on. I promise.
Two years ago, fire ravaged much of Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho and Montana. People lost homes, lives, everything to the fires. Now many people, including those who paid financially want to know why the forests aren't being managed and why wildfires are not only common but expected each summer and Fall? Tonight we have that discussion with a group out of Douglas County where the Archie Creek Fire left many homeless. They lost everything but their lives to the fires. Those folks want answers and even more they want action.
People are flocking to Montana to get away from the rules, mandates and politics of their area. Problem is some of those folks forget to check their politics, ideas for change and voting records at the state line. Cattle ranchers are nervous about development, water rights, wild life and their lifestyle. I recently heard a local rancher speak at a prayer breakfast. Afterwards I asked her if she'd join us on a show. This is that show. Also, we're doing a survey to help with our content. It's only five minutes and it will help us a lot. I'm in a funk of sorts. The world seems out of control, people are rude and I'm tired of feeling like everything is argument or a fight. Also weighing heavy on my soul is the economy. I read the warnings from folks in the know and it doesn't look good next year. Then we have a story with a guy named Matt Powell. He and a group of 18 guys are on the adventure of a lifetime. Yes it all ties together. Reality and hope....you need both.
On this episode we introduce you to a new bunch of businesses in the Whiteaker Neighborhood in Eugene, Oregon, our weather expert joins us with a forecast from Oregon to Montana, The BS Free MD Doctors take you to the dark place with their latest podcast....and what's up at Compton Family Winery? We'll let you know.
Let's unpack the election. We'd love to hear from you but we've also brought some folks on to talk about this. Bill Lundun from KPNW will have results, Dr Michael Bratland will have his say, a candidate who almost won his first race will talk about his frustration and a group talking of joining parts of Oregon with Idaho, especially after last night.
This is a pretty day around the world and especially in the United States. Tonight, or over the next few days, we should have a pretty good idea of the direction this country will be moving. Will there be a red wave, a red tidal wave or will it be more purple or blue. On this episode a guy who is very connected in the political world joins us to talk about what he see's coming in Oregon. Take a moment to fill out our survey to help us come up with the best content. https://forms.gle/SGHviuiSNK8b5P698
Monday's we try to do shows where it's just you and me. Let's talk about what's on your mind. I have a couple of things to throw in. I met a guy in Townsend Montana who's name is "Dancer". Yeh, you know, just Dancer like Cher or Bono. You'll meet him and a veteran we'll have on the show Thursday gives us a sneak peak. But everything is you. What is on your mind? What are concerned about? What makes you happy? You have the floor.
