No amount of effort or willpower on our part can produce real spiritual life, but the good news is the Holy Spirit is right there, ready to do what we could never do on our own. Like Charles Spurgeon said, “Without Him we are ships without wind, branches without sap, and coals without fire.” But when we stop striving in our own strength and simply rely on Him each day, He doesn't just forgive our past, He transforms our future. Life in the Spirit isn't one big leap, it's small, consistent steps of obedience, asking Him to help us and listening for where He's leading.
