Good Book, But ...

It is a good book for beginner who needs the basic knowledge about investment. It does summarize lots of details in the investment world.

I expect to have more in-deep knowledge or experience about 80/20 investment such as a hypothetical case study created by you ( not the ones in 1930s or 1970s), how to initiate it and modify it under certain circumstances and so on.

A few nuggets of wisdom

Other may have a different experience but I had a hard time paying attention to this book. I don't know if it was the speaker or the material but I was tempted to return it. There were a couple things that I did manage to pick up so I decided to stick it out. There is nothing earth-shattering in this book if you are familiar to the self-help genre but Jay Abraham does hit a lot of the points that others have made and if you like his style then you should be satisfied.

Good book but too short

I liked this book and it had a lot of great information, but I felt like it was way to short.

Overall Good Book!

I think the book does exactly what it says , giving beginners a guide to investing in bonds. I love stock investing but also like to learn about other investment vehicles, and while bonds are not my favorite, this book did help me to realize the importance of earning steady income. I would recommend this book to most people, like seasoned investors with a sizable portfolio. I wish the book was a little bit longer, but when you compare it to the price you pay, the short read/audio is well worth it.

I was interested in establishing my own bond portfolio . This book is exactly what I needed to do just that. Im sure there are longer more detailed sources. But now I just have to review the steps and portfolio diversification strategies to accomplish my goal. The author has convinced me this is an often neglected but less risky and vital part of my overall wealth and retirement strategy. Buy this book rather than use a credit . It is well worth the cost. Ill keep this on my device as Ill be going to it often .

Contains good info but not the best recording

While much of the info in this audio version of the e book is available elsewhere, it is a good introduction for the new investor or review for the intermediate investor.

The engineering of the audio is ok but not great. it contains noticeable changes in volume and clarity and we'll as some background noise and mouth sounds.

While none of these things ruin the experience of the audio book as a whole, they are distracting for a trained ear and show a lack of professionalism.

Great starting point

This book went beyond financial considerations for buying a home and had some interesting metrics related to time allocation, location (noise, nature, neighborhood) and what to value in a home including material belongings.

Required reading for first time buyers

Wisdom (based on science) is what you get here. If only all professionals considered the psychological implications of their clients decisions the world would be a better place.

What did you like best about this story?

This is not a book about the actual steps of buying a house, this is a book about how to pick the "right" house for you. My husband and I are looking for a house and I realized after listening to this book that I was really not looking for the "right" house for us. I was looking for the neighborhood I wanted, but the house we could afford would not be a house that could let us live the "life" we wanted. For example, the "perceived" safety of the neighborhood on your children's childhood activities was very helpful. I wanted to buy a house in a safe (low crime) neighborhood with great schools. But the neighborhood has had a lot of car accidents with pedestrians getting hit by cars. I realized that any house I might be able to buy in this "low crime/good school" neighborhood would be at the expense of my kids being able to ride bikes or play outside in the neighborhood. That would mean that my kids would be more likely to have to stay inside (or play in the backyard only) and that would likely result in them consuming more media (TV and video games) because that is "safer" than playing on streets where they may get hit by a car.

This book got me thinking about the bigger picture of what it means to buy a house on the next several years (maybe decades) of my life and what I want that to be. I had been looking at the city, school district and how many rooms the houses had, now I am looking at houses with a whole different eye to what is important.
