Great fantasy story!!

So cool!! I loved the different spin on this fairy tale to make it sexy - I remember reading the story of Briar Rose when I was a kid and realizing it was the same as Sleeping Beauty. Well, this story is DEFINITELY not the same as the kid's story! There is a ton of sexy scenes and the writing is really poetic. Great work, I am looking forward to the other ones!

Erotica has never been so sweet and sensual

In the story of "Briar Rose" we meet Rose, a woman who is incapable of achieving orgasm. When she confesses this to her financee the night before her wedding, he leaves her. Heartbroken she attempts to commit suicide, but as luck would have it she's found before its too late and finds herself aboard a plan to St Barts to get therapy. At St. Barts she finds therapy is somewhat unconventional and her doctor so dreamy that she can't help but fall for him.

As with all of Selena Kitt's work, the story is well written and highly erotic. I loved the premise of the story and how it's slightly taboo with the doctor/patient aspect. I liked Rose, though didn't care for how she justified her ex leaving her for her confession. I especially loved her doctor Matt. He was everything you'd ever want from a hero; caring, sexy, loyal. He had it all. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling and this is a must, must, must read story. Actually, the entire series is a must read.

Amazing Fairy Tale

Couldn't stop reading this incredibly hot fairy tale. Selena Kitt is the Mistress of hot erotica and this story is another one of her exceptionally well-written, scorching hot spicy tales. Loved the Briar Rose story from childhood but THIS one is much, much better ;) Absolutely recommend it to any fan of erotic romance!

Words that envelope you

I found myself lost in this story very early on and just kept flipping pages. This story has such good pacing and an interesting sexy story, and it was a great morning read.

Sweet and Sexy

If you like the Baumgartners, youre going to love this book. Takes us back to Carrie and Docs early days and how they got involved in threesomes in the first place! Selena is the queen of ménage and does mff better than any writer I know. The sex, as always, is incredibly hot, but there is a depth of character in this one that really moved me. This isnt just sex, theres a good story here, and the author deals with some real issues. I actually cried at one point. Its a great listen!

Great addition to the series

Would you listen to Woodrose Mountain again? Why?

Will probably listen again. This narrator is much better than the narrator in Blackberry Summer. I love a series that fleshes out the different characters.

this is the first time I've listened to this narrator. She does a credible job. More of a read than a performance.

Great Series. Wish book one was on audible, too.

Community of friends

What other book might you compare Woodrose Mountain to and why?

Virgin River. It very much about friendships and hardships. Community comes together to help each other. It's very similar to the work of Robyn Carr and Emily March's Eternity Springs series.

Have you listened to any of Claire Christies other performances before? How does this one compare?

Just the other books in this series. I like her work very much. Doesn't make me want to tune her out or wish for another narrator.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Some of both. I have a lot of empathy for what life can deal to people that must be overcome. Books can take a person away from some of their own problems for awhile and give you breathing room to deal with whatever you have to get through.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

you have to be a fan of Krentz, so this was good

Narration adds another enjoyable dimension to the novel

At first I was not sure about the voice used by the narrator for Jasper, the hero. However it grew on me with each passing chapter. It changed my image of Jasper from the one I had from reading the novel to a different one, one that made listening to the novel this time, more enjoyable. It's a good voice for the deadpan jokes Jasper makes. I ended up really enjoying this narration.

The heroine voice did not sound like a teenage girl. It sounded like an adult woman, another positive. The hero voice ended up being perfect for Jasper's character who is definitely well over 30 years old. So because this narration increased my enjoyment of a book that I had only read as text before ( and enjoyed it), I decided it was worthy of a separate review.

I have to read less and listen more due to strange retinal problems, one of which has no cure at this time (a political plug for others to support and vote for candidates who support increased federal grants for medical research instead of the current Scrooge-like Congress which has cut federal medical research to almost non existence). Due to my strange incurable medical retina problem, I am becoming a discriminating Audible buyer and listener.

Tripping the Light Fantastic in Seattle

I enjoyed this stand-alone romantic suspense, set in contemporary Seattle. I first read it years ago. Now I've listened to it, narrated by Kate Fleming (aka Anna Fields). She's got a broad vocal range and portrays men well. Sadly, she passed on in 2006.

The POV is 3rd person, switching from hero to heroine, and occasionally to some mysterious chess player. Contents include a few sex scenes, a little violence, minimal swearing, minimal religious profanity, and no crude terms for female anatomy. Suspense includes murder, blackmail, etc.

Why do I read books by JAK?? It's typically not for the suspense, even though that is usually fairly interesting. The main reason I come back to this formulaic author is this: She writes about honorable men who are deeply alone. Misunderstood, misjudged, unwanted, and/or taken for granted. Whatever. I feel for these guys, even though they are tough, shrewd, sexy, and rich.

Great story with an excellent outcome!

This was my first time being introduced to Diana Palmer's writings. Enjoyed the book especially as a native Texan. I have already downloaded another book with great anticipation.

What's with the Cover???

I've been listening to some of Diana Palmer's other books because I was in the mood for the Cowboy stories! Although I DID read the publishers info & reviews, the cover of this book shows a Cowboy with his Horse on the backround of prairie land!! It leads you to believe it is another one of the "Old Western" type stories, however, it's actually a modern story with cars & airplanes!!! Since I wasn't prepared for the modern story, it took me awhile to adjust & accept the situation...having said that, the book was actually pretty good and had good characters with an interesting plot. If the cover had been different & I had been prepared, then I'm sure I would have liked it right from the start. Hopefully, others will read this and be more prepared than I was! Actually, Jack Garrett, the narrator, has a deep sexy voice & is wonderful to listen to! So I'm sure others will enjoy it!

Would you listen to Tough to Tame again? Why?

Absolutely, the story was as good as always from Diana Palmer.

Did Jack Garrett do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

No Rourke is from South Africa not Texas. It would had been funnier hearing Rourke with his British accent not a Texas twang.

Feminism be darned.

Not a bad listen, but it sets women back 75 years back into the kitchen and bedroom.
