I'm hooked on Karen Booth!

The minute I finished reading Forever: The Boxed Set I had to buy this one. It's not like this is a continuation of the story. I just loved that collection so much I had to have more from Karen Booth. She's that good!

The only apparent similarity to Forever is the rock star theme. I don't think it's a spoiler to say that David and Alex belong together, and Glenn comes across a the most egotistical, self-centered rock star you can imagine. He's an @$$h0le! Truly. He's a cliché, almost cartoonish in this portrayal, but then, there's always some bit of truth in every cliché.

David and Alex, on the other hand, may be the sweetest couple you can imagine. The feelings they convey seem genuine and heartfelt. They are not a cliché. They are the kind of characters you love to love with the kind of relationship you'd love to have. Theirs is story of second chances and taking the opportunity to grab happiness when you can. There's no sense in living in the past because you can only change your future.

I highly recommend this book. I am a new fan of Karen Booth and look forward to reading more from her!

She does it again!

I won't lie...I loved Bring Me Back. Unlike others, I adore the celebrity (specifically) rock star angle. I may have spent my formative years adoring a band or two, and so books from that fan/celeb angle interest me. I wish there were more of them. So, when I read that Karen Booth was coming out with another book from that place, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

I found myself completely immersed in the story, which rarely happens for me these days. I am in my 40s, and I know what real life marriage can be like. It's never perfect, and I'm pretty certain that remains the case whether you're married to an engineer or a rock star.

Slow Sizzle Romance Becomes Hot and Spicy !

Would you consider the audio edition of Ask Me to Stay to be better than the print version?

An audio edition is always my choice because I can multi-task. In today's busy world not many people have the time to sit and read--and in my case by the time I would get around to doing that I would swiftly fall asleep. An audio book totally "sizzles" and keeps the listener totally involved.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ask Me to Stay?

The very beginning of the book was memorable. The lead character and her little girl are stranded on a highway and along comes a angel in the disguise of an older man who helps her back to town where he introduces her to his daughter and helps her find a job and a place to live. He was truly from heaven above !!

What does J. Scott Bennett bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

J. Scott Bennett is the most amazing narrator I've ever heard. There's just something about his voice that gives the reader a sensation of listening to a good friend telling a story. He is so pleasant and easy to understand. His female voices are endearing and full of sexiness.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I felt really sad when the main character was explaining her past to her hot new boyfriend. She had some horrible life experiences that touched me to the core. Lucky for her she hit the jackpot when she met Jayce. He turned out to be the man of her dreams.

I was given this audio book in exchange for an honest review. I could say so much more about this book but I wouldn't want to spoil it for others. I have listened to the previous books in this series and it just keeps getting better and better each time.

Good love story

Overall, this was a good and clean love story, well written. The narration was also good.

Fining home

This was a beautiful story. I loved this story and would highly recommend this story. This is a clean well written story. The author and narrator did a great job in telling the story.

I enjoyed it

Overall, I enjoyed this listen. The narrator has a strong, clear voice and is easy to listen to. That being said, she doesnt use a large range of voices so many of the characters sound almost exactly the same. Sometimes its difficult to figure out who is talking. Not always an issue, but it happened more than once while I was listening.

I enjoyed the love story. I liked the scene where they were stargazing - so romantic! And when Jamie says that she doesnt sweat, she glistens. Haha!! I loved the story when it took place in Montana. I didnt love when they went back to New York. Most of the book takes place in Montana though, so that was great! I enjoyed the characters and Jamies positive, friendly personality. The music in between chapters was pretty, but I wish they didnt start the narration while the music was still playing because sometimes it drowns out the words.

Overall an enjoyable book!

Steamy, Suspenseful, and Heartwarming!

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I liked Declan's character was a popular romance author.

Declan! Gary did a fantastic job with the narration. He's has a great voice, and really delivered on the steamy sultry scenes.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely! At four and half hours long, it was easy to listen to this story all in one sitting. Between the plot, and narration, it held my attention, and I never pushed pause.

Let's be honest here...from the moment Gary Furlong started talking I was hooked. I could listen to him read just about anything. His voice was seductive without being distracting.

Which scene was your favorite?

Well I don't want to give too much away, but there's a point where Declan jumps into the pool and the description of the scene is perfection.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Filthy things live in all of us.

This book was such a delicious story that had an actual plot and story line. There are so many books that are sexy and hot, but no real story there. This one had it all! I plan on listening to this again!

Top 20, Gary does such a great job and the story is so very well written.

What did you like best about this story?

The love story, the beauty and the beast concept. Beauty really is only skin deep, and I loved how it showed how that applied to them both. She may not be the standard beauty in everyone's eyes, but she was for him, and she too saw his beauty.

Have you listened to any of Gary Furlongs other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have and I'm starting my own little fan club, I love his work and I look for books that he narrates because I know they will be wonderful. I hope he stays on for the rest of the series, he has great range and draws the listener in.

I would have to say that I really liked both Ash and Lila.

What does Joel Froomkin bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

He is really able to do a woman's voice quite well. I've heard a couple of his audiobooks and have always enjoyed them.

great book

love this story it's super cute. it is about a rock star and a cpa who Fall in love. now just like every romantic book there are some struggles and some things that keep them from falling in love. I do have to say the name of the main character is Lila and every time I heard her name it made me think of the song hey there Delilah... lol anyways love love love this book can't wait to see what happens to them in the squel take me home. I also have to say that the narrator of the book is a man and his voices for the characters are kind of weird. like I couldn't tell if it was a male or female for the female character but if you can get past that it's a great book.
