BIO
Ama Ma'at Gora is a Philly based dance artist, educator and choreographer. She received her BA in dance from Georgian Court University and her MFA from Temple University. She has had opportunities to work with choreographers such as Kariamu Welsh, Lela Aisha Jones, Earl Mosley, Sidra Bell and more. She now serves as Community Based Learning Coordinator at Drexel University where she oversees artistic civic engagement. She is a 2020 Transformation Grant Awardee with the Leeway Foundation and a Lindy Center Fellow for Civic engagement at Drexel University. Her hopes are to continue to engage the community with liberatory practices that are shared best through movement and storytelling.
Action Steps
Ama gives us real world focuses to implement into our dance spaces. She leads our movement exploration with a self care component.
