Publisher's Summary:
Leadership is in crisis. In the rough seas of a borderless economy, the Internet, and outsourcing in turbulent markets, a seismic shift has changed the game. The days of the great man - whether a Churchill or Kennedy, even a Gates or Welch - are numbered. Virtually anyone can lead now. But how do you breed ethical and effective leaders for the 21st century? Is leadership a matter of DNA, culture, or coaching?
The answer can be found in the 3,000-year-old tradition of Judaism. Jews are not called the People of the Book by accident. Torah, Talmud, and Kabbalah hold a powerful amalgam of life-and-death leadership stories and astonishingly practical lessons for 21st century managers. In a unique synergy, Dr. Thomas Zweifel, strategy and performance expert, professor, and author of leadership books like Communicate or Die and Culture Clash, teams up with Rabbi Aaron Raskin, Jewish leader, mensch, and author of Letters of Light, to blend the timeless wisdom of the Ten Commandments with a cutting-edge methodology based on 25 years of coaching leaders - a mix that provides winning tools for lasting success.

Amazing book, all managers
Amazing book, all managers, from middle to top management including Top CEO's should read this opus. The authors explain the link/importance between traditions and business modernity, the reader will catch the importance to look in the rear view mirror to understand/predict the future, a proof that in this "speedy" world managers should never forget their origins. The traps are every where, read this book, find your path and the success will follow, Thank you Thomas and Rabbi A.L Raskin,
A unified approach to moving forward with vision and integrity
Very enjoyable read.
Witty with some space for deeper learning.
Gives ethics in business a boost.
Fresh, helpful, focused
I read "Rabbi and CEO" with great joy and profit (and immediately gave a copy to a friend). The fresh, new perspectives derived from the Ten Commandments are beneficial: A good guide to forward your self-understanding, very nicely down-to-earth, and suitable for practical use. The keywords (sometimes in my own words) are freedom, vision, precise communication, the ability to say no, appreciation of others, the ability to interact productively with one's own feelings, ethical responsibility, ability to give, foresight and empathy. Unlike other self-management books which often have a somehow agitated feel, reading this one helps to become relaxed and centered.
If you want to deepen the topic of competent leadership from a Jewish perspective, you may go on to Sacks' Convenant and Conversation. But there you have to go with the theological depths. âRabbi and CEOâ has the combination of entry-friendly readability and helpful content. Great praise!
