Awesome Bible

I love this bible. My cover is not like the one listed, mine is a reddish brown color with nothing written on the front of it. It is a red letter edition, and giant print, which is totally awesome. So easy to read between the print and the context. If you read a verse it has foot notes about where to find other verses that tell the same thing, or other verses that refer to the verse you are reading. It has a presented to page, a Holy Matrimony page, pages to lists births, marriages and deaths. It, also has colorful maps in the back. This is a great book for a senior who needs bigger lettering, or a teen or adult who just needs something easier to read and understand. Would absolutely buy again. I added horizontal rainbow tabs for my own benefit.

Bound upside down...

The product quality over all seems alright upon innitial observation, but the book was bound and the cover attached the wrong way. The pages were put in upside down, so when you open the cover not only are you seeing the index of the book, but it's also upside down. And no, I'm not confused, I read Arabic - the book was definitely bound incorrectly.

Good translation, beautifully bound hardcover.

I collect bibles (different versions, languages, and translations) and I am also learning Arabic at the university. This is my favorite one of all my collection. It comes with a ribbon marker and the design of the cover is very nice. It smells like leather and feels like it too, but I am not sure if it is real leather or not. Either way, this is a nice bible and I am very happy to have it.

they were so happy to have them

the couple I bought them for had just arrived in the USA from a Muslim country where it was dangerous to have bibles. they were so happy to have them. thanks to Amazon for having these bibles and for shipping them so quickly. They are so grateful.

Nice big

Our friend loves it and is using it all the time. Nice big PRINT

Title: Theology of James, Peter, and Jude: Audio Lectures

Subtitle: 13 Lessons on Key Issues and Themes

Author: Peter H. Davids

Narrator: Peter H. Davids

Format: Original Recording

Length: 2 hrs and 55 mins

Language: English

Release date: 10-17-17

Publisher: Zondervan

Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Bibles

Publisher's Summary:

In A Theology of James, Peter, and Jude: Audio Lectures, top New Testament scholar Peter Davids offers a comprehensive study of the General or Catholic Epistles, which are often insufficiently covered in more general New Testament introductions, theologies, and surveys. The lessons offer a thorough exploration of the theology of each book, including introductory issues and major themes, and shows how each book relates to the broad picture of New Testament theology.

Before discussing a theology of each of the four letters, Davids deals with their common aspects - their shared background in the Greco-Roman world and similar Christology, view of the source of sin, and eschatology - thus justifying their being treated together. Davids then embarks upon a theological reading of each letter informed by its social-rhetorical understanding - what it meant in the context of its original cultural settings - that includes a survey of recent scholarship, a discussion of relevant introductory issues, thematic commentary, treatment of important theological themes, and a discussion of the place of each letter in the biblical canon.

A Theology of James, Peter, and Jude: Audio Lectures is part of The Zondervan Beyond the Basics Series, which is dedicated to bringing expert teaching from world's best biblical scholars and theologians directly to interested learners. A Theology of James, Peter, and Jude: Audio Lectures offers the chance to learn about some of the Bible's most neglected biblical books from one of today's premier New Testament scholars.

Language: English

Release date: 10-09-17

With the conflict of sin fully resolved and the great and dreadful day of the Lord a memory, our linear narrative doubles back on itself: Revelation 20-22 bring us back to a new beginning. In Revelation 21: 1-5 we read: Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

He who was seated on the throne said, I am making everything new! Then he said, Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.
