The Bible tells us of only two people who went to heaven without experiencing death: Enoch and Elijah. God assures us that heaven is waiting for each of us.

Elijah thought he was the only believer left, but God demonstrates that his word works powerfully even when we don’t see it.

Though the odds may have been stacked against him from a human perspective, Elijah knows our God is the Lord, the only true God.

When famine strikes Israel, God provides for Elijah in some incredible ways. God continues to meet our needs, too.

God cleared all the obstacles and included Ruth and Boaz in the lineage of Jesus. Each of us is blessed through the Messiah who came to save.

Ruth’s courage led her to Boaz’s fields and Boaz demonstrated his kindness. God’s plans are unfolding in our lives, too.

When a family faced some terrible circumstances, faith kept them going. We trust in a God who is always faithful to his promises.

God’s gracious outpouring of the Spirit on Pentecost continues today. Through word and sacraments, the Holy Spirit showers his gifts on us.

The risen Jesus ascended into to heaven to show his saving work was accomplished. He now rules all things for us as we await his return.

We can’t know what our future holds. But God does. He has given us an eternal future with him in heaven.
