Joseph was honored by the Egyptians in burial, but he wanted his bones to rest in another place--the land of Canaan, because he trusted God’s promises. Nothing will stop God from raising our bones on the last day.

God made sure his promises were fulfilled in the blessings Isaac and Jacob gave. Despite our unfaithfulness, we rejoice that God remains faithful to the promises he has made to us.

Can you imagine? God asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son. And Abraham was willing! His faith clung to God’s faithfulness. We trust God will fulfill every promise he has made, because he sacrificed his only Son.

Old Testament believers looked ahead to a fulfillment of promises they never got to see. We look back on promises that were fulfilled before we were born. Faith embraces God’s love, wrapped in his guarantees.

Abraham believed God when he asked him to move to a new place and promised he and Sarah would have a child in their old age. God gives us faith to believe his promises through his Word.

Noah lived on dry land, and yet when warned of things not seen, prepared for the flood. God’s promises prepare us for an unseen future.

Enoch did not experience death. He lived his faith, and God gave his approval in a very special way. God approves of us through faith in Jesus.

Abel’s faith shined through in the sacrifices he brought to God. His faith still speaks today--to us who are commended righteous by faith.

Many have questioned the reality of a creation in six days. We take God at his Word and trust the truth he presents.

Through the writer to the Hebrews, God describes the essence of faith. We are certain of God’s promises, even when we don’t see.
