    Publisher's Summary:
Are you a student who is ready for a teacher? If so, then welcome to A Teacher Appears. As a twenty-two-year old sales rep in a small town in the Pacific Northwest, Lori Toye had never even thought about meditation, let alone asking spirit teachers for help.
But all that changed in 1983 when she got a middle-of-the-night bedside visit from Master Saint Germain, an eighteenth-century Frenchman and Ascended Masterwho later returned with four of his friendsteachers in white robes who presented a map of America with a new geography, along with a message: It is time for worldwide healing. Despite her questions and doubts, Lori surrendered to their requests and began disseminating their wisdom and messagesthe earliest of which are published for the first time in A Teacher Appears.
Why is it helpful to get information from spirit entities? How and why should we change? Weve noticed the drama going on in our weather, on the planet, in our culture. What is that about? What about manifesting money; what about fear, social disharmony, and my excruciating headaches? What am I doing here, how can I prepare for my future, and why on earth would spirit entities need my help? Lori asked these questions and many more.
A Teacher Appears offers fifty-one small but simple channeled lessons about Earth Change and humanitys opportunity to open to and accept the I AM Presenceyour individualized of God. All it requires is inspiration, appreciation, love, and a good teacher.

Some good info. Too many narrators
This book has some of the good basics, but has a bit of a multiple personality disorder. There are many narrators, the lesser the author. Might be OK in print, but too jarring with many voices (one robotic male) for me. The chapters are minutes and just .com take hold
Real-Life Guidance for the Spiritual Path
Would you consider the audio edition of A Teacher Appears to be better than the print version?
Yes --- for listening to it over and over and over while practicing the exercises discussed in the book.
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Teacher Appears?
Hearing Saint-Germain talk about making the decision of whether to float down the river or get out onto the shore....it affirmed for me the validity of the book as it's the same analogy I received when reading another book by ascended masters that has always penetrated me deeply.
Which character as performed by Lori Toye and Lou Hunt was your favorite?
    Saint-Germain
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
    Accessing our own power
    Any additional comments?
There is so much information, guidance and "how-tos" in this book that I know I need to listen to it repeatedly in order to fully grasp it all. It's an intimate discussion with the ascended master Saint-Germain, who explains both everyday wisdom for living our lives and somewhat technical advice for accessing the various energies that are constantly available to us. It was my first real exposure to the ascended masters, as before I had only heard of them but didn't really understand their role or relation. Now I feel like I better understand their purpose and how I can develop a more personal relationship with them.

    Publisher's Summary:
The Truth Behind the Secret will give you uncensored access to the truth behind the amazing claims made in The Secret, written by Rhonda Byrne. There are some very significant secrets behind The Secret that aren't being told, such as "What are the true origins of the teachings?" and "What are the dangers of living according to the Secret?" This audiobook by James K. Walker and Bob Waldrep gives a reasoned response to the runaway best seller.
    Members Reviews:
a basic response to the popular book by Rhonda Byrne
This book is written in a simplistic style which explains why The Secret by Rhonda Byrne is such an utterly absurd concept. The book is theologically driven in most of its arguments but one does not have to be a Christian to quickly read and comprehend the main points being presented. This would be a good book for someone who either has been given a copy of The Secret or who has friends who have embraced The Secret. If you need reasons to reject Rhonda Byrne's work for the purposes of discussion or to plant seeds of doubt in the minds of those who do accept The Secret then this book may be a good reference for you. On the other hand, if one is looking for a highly detailed exegesis of The Secret, this is not the book for you. Either way: AVOID 'THE SECRET'. It has nothing to offer you other than phony new agism.
    perfect read for the Christian,
Reviewed by Vicki Landes for Reader Views (11/07)
Just as "The Da Vinci Code" had its skeptics, so does the more recent bestseller, "The Secret." Authors James K. Walker and Bob Waldrep release their counter to this current phenomenon titled "The Truth Behind the Secret." And it's much more than you think...
"The Truth Behind the Secret" is a well-organized, comprehensive discussion covering several aspects including its primary origins, paranormal sources, its science, and Oprah's big role in its popularity. Appropriately self-described as `a reasoned response,' "The Truth" explores these points with a professional, mature, and educated tone. Initially, I expected that this would be a book of emotional lash-outs. Instead, Walker and Waldrep convey a calm and measured style - respectfully enlightening their readers and backing their points up with substantial research.
"The Truth Behind the Secret" is an eye-opening jolt into what "The Secret" teaches, both on the emotional and supernatural levels. Most surprisingly is that it's not a new concept. "...[The Secret] appears with some regularity about very five years or so. It just changes names. Ten years ago it was `The Celestine Prophecy.' Five years ago it was something else. They keep appearing... The astonishing thing is that every five years it comes out and jumps to the top of the best-seller list." Another surprising point Walker and Waldrep point out is that the concept behind "The Secret" allows and even promotes inactivity. "The broader concern is that it encourages an incredible kind of passivity. You don't actually have to do anything. You don't have to work for something.

Title: Growing in Love and Wisdom
Subtitle: Tibetan Buddhist Sources for Christian Meditation
    Author: Susan J. Stabile
    Narrator: Elisa Carlson
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 8 hrs and 25 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 12-17-13
    Publisher: Audible Studios
Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 5 votes
Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
Although raised Roman Catholic, Susan Stabile was ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist nun and devoted 20 years of her life to practicing Buddhism before returning to Catholicism in 2001. In Growing in Love and Wisdom, she draws on this unique dual perspective to explore the value of interreligious dialogue, the spiritual dynamics that operate across faith traditions, and how Buddhist meditation practices can deepen Christian prayer. She begins by examining the values and principles shared by the two faiths and shows that both traditions seek to effect a fundamental transformation in the lives of believers. Both stress the need for experiences with deep emotional resonance that goes beyond the level of concepts to touch the heart.
The center of the book offers 15 Tibetan Buddhist contemplative practices, adapted for Christian use. Stabile provides clear instructions on how to do these meditations and helpful commentary on each, explaining its purpose and the relation between the Buddhist original and her Christian adaptation of it. Throughout, she highlights the many remarkably close parallels between the teachings of Jesus and the Buddha. The meditations offered in this unusual book will be extremely useful to thoughtful Christians, to those responsible for giving spiritual direction, and also to Buddhist sympathizers who will be intrigued and pleased to see familiar contemplations handled so skillfully by a former Buddhist practitioner who has gratefully learned so much from her former religion and now introduces the riches of that tradition to her fellow Christians.
    Members Reviews:
    A Unique and Exceptional Book
Susan Stabile's book is extraordinary and would represent a valuable addition to the library of any Christian--particularly any Catholic--who is interested in deepening his or her spiritual experience. But be forewarned: This is not about a feel-good, new-age approach to Christianity. Growing in Love & Wisdom is a serious, thoughtful, well researched, and beautifully written exploration of the places where Buddhism and Christianity intersect coupled with very specific advice for applying Buddhist meditation principles and techniques to Christian prayer.
Ms. Stabile might be uniquely qualified to explore these subjects. She grew up as Catholic girl on Long Island whose spiritual quest led her to an extended investigation of Buddhism (specifically, Tibetan Buddhism) that eventually led to her becoming a Buddhist nun. Then after twenty years as a Buddhist, she found herself gravitating back towards the Catholic Church. (Her day job, by the way, is as a law professor!) But Ms. Stabile did not renounce Buddhism when she did so. Instead, she used it as a tool to enhance and explore her Christian spirituality. As she demonstrates so clearly in her book, the combination of the two can be quite remarkable. (Catholic pilgrims will recognize in her work distinct echoes of Thomas Merton, someone whose spiritual explorations followed a somewhat similar path.)
There are enormous areas of overlap between Christianity and Buddhism and Ms. Stabile outlines them clearly and convincingly. There are also places where the two faith traditions diverge, something she acknowledges readily.

The echo filter was a bit off putting at first, but great book. I would recommend to all.
Wonderful Author comes out of the crowd...
What made the experience of listening to Road to Paradise: How to Find the Way the most enjoyable?
The depth of this authors knowledge is pretty astounding. His ability to convey scripture to your life and the nuances of how it applies to me individually was a great help in confirming things I've considered for quite some time.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Road to Paradise: How to Find the Way?
Quite a few actually, I like they way the author puts himself in the story in the first half of the book. I could relate.
    Which scene was your favorite?
too many, I'd have to get the physical book to mark and rate them LOL.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Probably the authors description of how God approaches us carefully since we're so prone to turn our backs on Him - I'm an old guy and typically don't cry but that moment did stir my emotions toward that direction.
    Any additional comments?
I hope the author does more of this type of work. I'm very busy and don't have time to sit and read books, only the Bible and not often enough - this format was designed with me in mind I know.

    Too important to miss
If you could sum up The Sacred History in three words, what would they be?
One of the most entertaining and important books ever written. Our history, our ancient myths and fairytales, our future; nothing is what it appears on the surface. Common threads of esoteric mysticism run through all cultures and all history and point towards a future rarely imagined. A labour of love and a work of genius.
    Jump.
The point that spoilt this book for me was the jumping from place to a totally different place. The only thing that kept me listening. There were some good points and supervision which kept me listening. Would I recommend this title, yes but with reservations..
    Great book
Very well presented informative book. A lot of cross over that fill in gaps to some common knowledge along with less common knowledge. A very worth while read to anyone interested in esoteric subjects.
Another very interesting book by Jonathon Black
What made the experience of listening to The Sacred History the most enjoyable?
After listening to secret history of the world, I knew this book was going to leave me that little bit more enlightened.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Sacred History?
A lot of this book was a broadening of the stories and understanding of the stories mentioned in the secret history of the world. this made it an interesting listen.
What three words best describe David Bauckhams performance?
tempo "ok" understanding "ok" pronunciation of some key words "terrible"
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listen while driving to and from work and this book suited that purpose beautifully
    Any additional comments?
The pronunciation of some key words made me and get a little annoyed and cringe at times it made me wonder why this was not checked before the book went out its probably not David Bauckhams fault but still very annoying

    My Cup Runneth Over
The Gratitude Journal: A 21 Day Challenge to More Gratitude, Deeper Relationships, and Greater Joy (A Life of Gratitude)
I love the way Shelley has put this little book together this wonderful little book on gratitude
Hitz gives you so many resources for keeping your own journal and they are amazing.\
Starting on day one, you are give a devotional/story that goes with each days thought of gratitude, but also an application to apply it to your daily life.
There are two ways to apply this challenge.
    1) is to follow Hitz's daily gratitude and journal for every entry under each day that Hitz wrote about each day and apply the application to your life.
    2) you can also start your own journal using the resources applied or use your own resources, write about your own blessings and gratitude,, and use those as your devotional and application within your life.
While this book pops a very powerful punch in many examples of gratitude. It also give you so many ways to make it your own.
"Having a heart for thankfulness and gratitude are the opposite of self pity and a complaining spirit" - Hitz writes
Instead of being thankful overall for all the big things. Like God thank you for all these blessings, get power in being thankful even when you don't feel like being grateful
One of the things that really caught my attention was an explanation of "optimism/pessimism"
    1) see the cup half empty - pessimism
    2) see the cup half full - optimism
    3) my cup runneth over. It's brimming at the top with God's amazing blessings and His Mercy and Grace.
For a very quick easy, way to handle a 21 day challenge, this book brings a lot of information, resources and ways of finding your cup brimming over.
    A wonderful book!!
