Excellent!

Sister Elizabeth Johnson is one of the premiere American theologians of our time. This presentation on Marian thology is so necessary for those of us who struggle to with images of Mary that grew up in the Middle Ages when they called her "Queen of Heaven" and "Redemtorix" . She is suggesting that we, among other things that we take her off her pedistal and include her back in the communion of Saints.

Extremely intriguing

The talk is good the questions great. Sr. In her Theology of Mary gives a thought pattern needing a great deal of study. This is a great tease.

Skip it

I've given up on this author now. This is the second book in a row written by her that flopped. Fizzled out. I'm not going for three. I ordered the paperback version. The print was microscopic.

She is one of my all-time favorite authors. Oh

I was hooked with "A Woman of Substance" all those years ago! Barbara Taylor Bradford writes with passion, weaving stories so real with characters that come alive off the pages of her novels! She is one of my all-time favorite authors. Oh, excuse me. I think I'll go pull "A Woman of Substance" from my library shelf and read it again! In closing, let me say I will never miss reading one of her novels!

Yet another lovely Family Saga by Barbara Taylor Bradford. This takes us on a journey from the East Coast of Amerika, to the unfamiliar culture of India. A letter brings the news of a Family member thought dead for many years, actually being alive. As no return address is given, it takes a young woman on a wild goose chase to India. Armed with intuition, determination, some knowledge of the movements of the lost person, she seeks the help of a local Travel agent. The story is one of never dying love, and of good karma coming to those with good and honorable intentions. This story is warm and a feel good experience. It also takes us into the heart of the culture of India, and I learned that Tulips are natives of India. So it was educational too. Regards Renate

Letter from a Stranger

This kept me wondering how it was going to connect with the 'letter'. I am really not a good one to be doing the reviews on books that I have read, I could do this much better verbally. The plot was great, it kept me reading to discover what would happen next. I liked the idea that the family was not "All American" and we so often read about, but dysfunctional beginning with the mother. I am a BTB fan so read as much of her as I can.

Loved Ty.

I loved the hero, Ty. What is not to love? Intense, crazy in love with someone he has loved most of her life. He is faithful, loving and giving. Also he has healthy self esteem, able to cry without feeling embarrassed and not caring what others think about him. He is not afraid of commitment but rather longs for it. He is not sexist and had no problem being a writer of literature that mainly women read. He is able to forgive and put bad experiences behind him. He is determined. He pursued Kelly, not wiling to give up on them, despite her frequent rejection. He is the perfect man, who unfortunately does not exist but who I enjoyed reading about.

The only things I would change is eliminate the conversations with his book character and add a few more sex scenes.

It's a keeper..One of Suzanne Brockmanns best books..I read this book when it was first published and wanted to have it on my kindle..If your looking for a very good love story this is the book...

Letters to Kelly is a great love story

The people in the book moved me to tears. Jax was so loving towards Kelly. I know it was very difficult to get her to believe he loved her for so long.

I do whatever the little voices tell me so I LOVED this book

As an author who frequently has conversations with my characters, Suzanne Brockmann has nailed it with this story.

I love love love this book. It's brilliant and funny and tender and sweet.

Loved it!

I couldn't put this listen down and am disappointed that there are no other books by this other offered by Audible. This book passed my litmus test with flying colors. My litmus test is whether I can skip/fast forward through the book & not miss anything & not care. If I fell asleep listening to this book, I had to rewind b/c I didn't want to miss an instance. She combines depth with an appropriate level of sexuality--some might call it eroticism/erotica--especially well. I ended the book with a great smile and really enjoyed the characters and their flaws. Her writing reminds me of Megan Hart, and for me, that's a huge compliment!

Like the story but hated the ending

Although the book was really only average, the was entertaining, original. I was compelled the finish it.

I couldnt even finish this one, The sotry was slow and boring. Not hot in the least. I possibly might listen to the rest in between credits but its been over a month and I have yet to do it.

Don't even waste your time.

This was one of ONLY TWO books that I started and couldn't force myself to finish, I always force myself to finish NO matter how bad.... The only reason I made it as far as I did was because I was driving and needed the painstaking torture of listening to this book to keep awake.

There was no real story to this book just boring sex scenes followed by some more boring sex.....

LOVE OVERCOMES ALL FEARS MARRIAGE BROUGHT HAPPINESS OF BEING A FATHER

This was a very sweet series of three sister who found TRUE LOVE and happiness and a very happy grandfather. Rowdy never had marriage planed for his future, but then he never expected to meet Norah. She came into his life and turned it upside down and he knew he had to change his way of thinking and living. That was some meeting David had with his Grace when he died during his heart surgery. He saw those girls married to the men they married and knew the amount of children they would have. I do not want that kind of knowledge but I guess others would. This is a happy ending that would be great for all of us. Debbie thank you for the lovely HEARTFELT stories that make you feel good inside in this uncertain time in our world we live in.

Plans made in advance

What a warm hearted, interesting group that made this story so hard to put down at all. It has been great watching these three sisters fulfill the story of David's wife Grace who told him of what and when all the puzzle pieces of their lives would unfold. Very entertaining.

I enjoy all of the Macomber books. She introduces many characters and makes their personalities come through beautifully. She leaves some things to your own imagination, which I personally like. She writes many series type books that continue to hold the reader's attention. Hurray for her!

debbie mccomber has done it again

I have loved all the series that debbie has written from Blossom Street, the cove series, etc. I've read all three of this trilogy (make sure you read them in order) and sice I'm on vacation at the beach, they are quick reads. I see a lot of reviews that make statements about how her characters have continues issues that keep breaking them apart. My husband and I played the off again, on again scenario for three years before we came to the conclusion that we just needed to get married. In our 12th year and I can count the disagreements on one hand. Keep those books coming. If you run out of plots debbie, give me a call.

Excellent!

I've made errors in judgements when ordering books with good reviews, so I was leery of purchasing "Summer of Two Wishes" with less than stellar reviews, but I'm so glad I did. The story was excellent, I didn't want it to end.

I did not find it predictable, quite the opposite. I found the well written story interesting and Natalie Ross' performance exceptional.

I read the reviews before listening to this book but wanted to listen in order. I really enjoyed the story, did not think it was predictable and listened more than I normally would to find out what happens next.

Do not know why!

This book story was predictable, the narration as well as the dialogue was bad,but for some reason and I really do not know why, I just hated to turn if off, and could not waite until I could start listening to it again. Wish there was a sequel, because there could be so much more to the story line.

This is truly a good story. You can feel the emotions of all three characters as they are expressed throughout the book.

I have listened to many of Natalie Ross's performances and as always she did a great job. She has a way with expression like no one else. I have looked for audio books read by her specifically. She is one of my favourites.

Not enough story

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

There wasn't enough story to make this a worthwhile listening experience. I know it was only 5 hours, but you'd figure there would be a little more character development. Alas, there was not.

What didnt you like about Julie Fain Lawrences performance?

It would have been MUCH better if the narrator had not tried to use a Boston accent. It was distracting.

Cliche, cliche, cliche

It was boring, predictable and filled with cliche after cliche. It was as if the author just cut and pasted from a lot of boring romance novels without much substance. The only phrase missing was "heaving breasts." The narrator was fairly good. I wouldn't waste my time on anything else from this author.

Fun book - light but entertaining

Would you consider the audio edition of Simply Scandalous to be better than the print version?

This is not a deep thought book but a book to entertain you when you want entertainment and not heavy contemplation. The book may be somewhat predictable but is happy and I love happy!

Simply wonderful

If only life was as wonderful as this story. Logan's Gran is awesome with her way of being a busy buddy... Kat and Logan great story line.. I wanted more...............

What disappointed you about Simply Scandalous?

Very poor, eye-rollingly awkward dialogue. Narrator does a hideous ?Boston? accent. It was so bad I'm not sure if she was attempting an accent or if the character was supposed to have a speech impediment. Main character sounded bored most of the time.

What was most disappointing about Carly Phillipss story?

It had none of the humor and fun Carly Phillips' books usual contain. Bad narration.

How could the performance have been better?

Different narrator.

It was the FIRST book I have bought out of hundreds that I turned off and deleted. I'm not picky, really. So....no redeeming qualities.

Great story by Carly Phillips. Narrator was just so-so.

BORING!!!

Another rich virgin princess is afraid to fall in love, and another poor bad boy afraid to fall in love. I only made it through 3 chapters and quit listening. Don't bother with this one. The story is not worth the money or a credit.

This is horrible and kind of brainless - I don't know what I was thinking when I bought it - maybe it's just not my style?

Simply Unlistenable!

I really wanted to like this book. I would get an A for effort in trying to listen to it. But I couldn't. I don't even think I made it halfway through the book. The premise of the novel sounds interesting. And, based on its reviews on Good Reads, I imagine that if I was reading the book in paper form I would find it entertaining. But there's something about Julie Fain Lawrence's narration that just doesn't work. Her voice in monotone, and the rhythm is stilted. My mind kept wondering to other things. Therefore, I am unable to recommend this book at all.

I spent how much on this?

I really can't believe I spent a penny on this audio book. This is one book I was unable to finish.... I made it about 3-4 chapters but can not bring myself to listening any further...it is that bad. Skip this one.
