She struggles to regain her momentum only to discover that Fielding has taken a visiting professorship at her college. The place that was once a refuge from the poverty of her past is now a battlefield of Civil War proportions.
Ransom is still struggling with his role in his wife's accidental death six years ago and was hoping a year at Shelby's small college would be a respite from the reminders back home. He never bargained for falling in love with the one woman who would give anything to make him leave. Together, Shelby and Ransom learn that home is never very far away, and when you least expect it, love arrives.
With a cast of Civil War re-enactors, an evil wedding planner, antebellum mansions, and several mysterious diaries, Pride, Prejudice and Cheese Grits will take you on a touching and hilarious ride through a modern South you haven't seen before. Newly revised, with recipes, a Pride and Prejudice variation, this book is the first in the Austen Takes the South series by Mary Jane Hathaway.

    Utterly Charming!
Just finished Ms Hathaway's book "Pepper in the Gumbo" and decided I wanted to try another book by her. I'm so glad I did! This is not one of those books that pretends to be a continuation of Jane Austen. It does have ties to "Pride and Prejudice" (quotes starting each chapter), but it is it's own story. If you've read Ms Austen's book it will only add to your enjoyment. I'm ready to start the next book in this series! I wasn't particularly fond of the narrator, but she is adequate.

    A good read .
This was enjoyable and I don't regret reading it. I've read better but I definitely read much worse. It was entertaining.
Not my favorite listenings i love de book
i don't like the girl performance she has a very annoying way to read the lines.
Just did not do it for me
This book just did not do it for me. From the narration of Tara Sands to some of the story. The story starts off good and George Newbern did a great job. About half way threw I was just ready for it to be over already. The first part was good and had potential, then you get to the middle and to me, it just seems like the writer got tired of writing the book. Then the mistakes. Once Shane was talking and instead of saying I reached over, he says He reached over like it was a different person. I find that very annoying!

Actually the WORST Narration I have ever heard!!!
I will never know if the story was any good as I couldnt get past the first 10 minutes of the worst narration I have ever heard (and I have 350+ audiobooks just in my audible library!).
The normal narrations was terrible and what was worse is that she attempted accents (AND THEY WERE BAAAAAD!!) ...which is fine, not everyone can do a good accent but then she would change accents in the middle of a sentence and still the same person talking?? This happened quite a few times just in what I listened too! There was no way I could get through the whole book listening to that. Unfortunate because the summary seemed interesting (hence why I purchased it) but now I will never know if it was any good. DISAPPOINTING!!
    Entertaining and a little different
Where does Knowing the Score rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
    Top 10 ranking
Who was your favorite character and why?
    Grandad
What about Michelle Miller-Days performance did you like?
Presenter was great - really enjoyable to listen to.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
More anxious as the characters had their own issues to deal with
Loved every minute! Can't wait for more from Kat!
    Any additional comments?
Really great characters and story! I have been an audible addict for years but this is the first review I've felt inclined to write. I laughed and cried like I was a part of the story. Michelle Miller-Day also rocked as narrator! Thanks ladies!
The best contemporary romance I have ever read!
This is the second book and the first full length novel by Kat Latham I have read. It was so unbelievably good! It is definitely the finest contemporary romance that I have ever read (and I have read a lot) and it is in my top ten list for books of any genre. I was entranced from the very first chapter, and I hated stopping the audiobook at the end of my car trips. The writing and the character development were top notch. The narrator was excellent, pleasing to the ears, and she made me feel that she was Caitlyn because she inhabited the character completely. Her range and subtlety at expressing emotion made the story so real! I wish that her voice for Spencer was a tad lower in pitch, but the performance was still riveting. Her American and English accents were excellent, and she expertly switched between them.

    Exciting Clean Romantic Adventure
What made the experience of listening to A Change of Plans the most enjoyable?
The narrator did a great job of distinguishing characters with her voice changes.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed in a couple of spots and cried in others.
    Any additional comments?
I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review. I thought the narrator did a fantastic job, and it was easy to tell who was speaking. At first, this felt like a sweet romance, which I dont really like, but it soon turned to a much more exciting read. There were a lot of twists and turns that I didnt expect, and I loved the happily-ever-after ending. Im looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
    Something different for me
Well, I liked the story. Performance, not as much. The main character was voiced way too slow, in my opinion. It still did the job and I'll get the next book. However, that minor complaint aside, the story was really adventurous. Not contrived at any point. I'm also happy the main character wasn't some helpless woman, a damsel in distress kind of thing. Give me a strong lead to lead my ears along. A couple twists I didn't see coming kept me listening.
The character development was strong and natural. Easy to listen to in one sitting, if you have the time. ON to the next!
    Not your average romance.
This story starts out with a budding romance between Lyn and Braeden as they get to know each other on a cruise. Unaware of Lyn's emotional scars, Braeden pushes the relationship a little too fast and Lyn pulls away, sure she is better off alone--until pirates enter the picture and kidnap them all!
Imagine high stakes with pirates, storms, shipwrecks, tropical islands, monsoons, sharks, and a blizzard at a Montana ranch.
I'd say more, but it would wreck it for you. It made me smile and cry, and the ending was worth waiting for.
    Well done.
    Fun and Exciting!
This story was a joy to listen to. Filled with drama, intrigue, and action this book provides many reasons to keep reading.
    Fantastic!!!
This book exceeded my expectations in every way. It left me with a horrible book hangover each time I had to turn it off and return to real life. Action, adventure, romance, and emotions so strong you choke and sob and then laugh along with the book. Bravo! I wish there was more about Lynn and Ell to come.

    Great!
Loved it, loved it!! Romantic, exciting, could not put it down till the end! Great job!
    Sensual and Entertaining!
What made the experience of listening to Savin' Me the most enjoyable?
Holly Adams is a masterful performer. She gives each character an individual voice through the expressive way she speaks- she really draws you in to the way each person thinks, feels and acts simply by the way she reads the story.
    Any additional comments?
For people who likes sensual romances, this is a fun read/listen. I enjoyed the story and Holly Adams' performance certainly made it worth the time.
The crappy fake accent was bit off putting, but was a gd story just a bit slow to get into at first but was good once got going.

    Still lukewarm for Shadow Ops
Book 2 brings more to the table. But it just doesnt really do it for me. The trek through the VA mountains in the middle of blizzard is drawn out and to me lacks the emotionally drama that the elements would definitely cause. Basically it was more of boy I really like you but I am afraid to tell you. And I wont trust anyone because my husband was shot in the line of fire. And then there are just stupid things that happen like, oh the bad guys are after us but let me stay in town and get captured.
What is disappointing is I like the characters Ryan and Vinnie but I didnt like how the story developed. The premise of the story was there, it just needed I guess better editing?? Still hanging in with the series because I am interested in the potential story of the leader of this covert group Rose. I hope the author goes for it with all the grit and passion this serious has the potential to reach.

Waited a long Time for this series of EL books!
Where does Fever rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
If you are a long time fan of E.L., then you will enjoy hearing this story you most likely read years ago. This a long with Too Hot to Handle, Fire and Rain are some of EL earlier works that can break your heart but have a HEAE
Who was your favorite character and why?
Boss Mac of course, plain old macho man
Would you be willing to try another one of Laural Merlingtons performances?
NO, she is a most talented and respected reader, but her male voice has ruined some great reads for me ie: Valley of the Sun. There are many stories I have passed on as she just does not do it for me. Tanya Elby is another one who ruined Sandra Brown's Exclusive.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
yes, when boss Mac realizes our heroine is poor
    Any additional comments?
Please audible, bring out Fire and Rain and too hot to handle...even if it is the same reader. The cooking scenes are so good and they warm your heart. EL does this best.
    Not Very Feverish
The hero in this story was a total jerk. He lied to Lisa, found that she was naive, took her virginity and kept her away from others. When she found out who he really was, he reluctantly invited her to the dance he was giving at his ranch. His distrust of Lisa was misplaced and he knew it but couldn't admit it to himself. Sure he was redeemed at the end but I would have had a hard time forgiving him.

    Drawing closer to God...
Teen devotions... For Girls! Vol. 2 is the second book in a series of devotionals written for teen girls in today's world. Compiled by multiple authors and brought to you by [...], our desire is to help teens draw closer to God by finding their true beauty in Christ.
    My Review:
I will start this one by saying right up front. Praise the Lord for wonderful authors that can listen to the Lord and use their abilities to help young ladies to learn about the Lord. This devotional, just as the first is so inspirational.
I so enjoyed each day with this one. Even the cover was bright and to me shows growth. And as the first I really recommend this one be put on your list for all your teen girls.
So for the reasons above I will be giving this book (and if I had a higher one I would give more) my Breath Of Life Rating of:
    Five Clock Rating!!
Disclosure: I did receive the above book in exchange for my honest opinion and or review. But the Opinions are my own and yours may differ.
    Great Encouragement!
I really enjoyed this teen devotional. I've actually been looking for a devotional for my almost 14 year old daughter to read on a daily basis. This devotional will be great for her because it really makes the reader think, but it's on a level that a teen can understand. It's not too in depth, but truly has the right amount of encouragement so that a teen doesn't lose their interest in reading the devotional. I love the prayer, reflection, and life application step at the end of each devotional. Again this is a great practical read for every teenage girl!
    Great selection of devotionals
I immensely enjoyed the collection of devotionals found in this book! Sometimes I found myself reading yet another chapter a few times a day... just because the format of each devotional is short, inviting, and sure to have a good thought in it. It makes great spiritual reading material for teen girls and even young women in their twenties.
    Lovely. Motivational.
