Getting Comfortable with Uncomfortable Race Conversations featuring Natalie Haynes

Listen Later

In this episode, Andryanna sits down with Natalie Haynes to look at getting comfortable with uncomfortable race conversations.

Natalie is a corporate connection consultant, educator, speaker and psychotherapist. She is also the creator behind “The Comfortable Race Conversation Process” which has been included in the Government of Canada’s, 50-30 Challenge and leads individuals through an experiential process to learn how to have uncomfortable conversations about race with other races.

This interview includes:

  • what it means to have uncomfortable conversations about race and how to approach it;
  • vulnerable hot seat coaching with Natalie taking Andryanna through an initial conversation about race from her childhood;
  • how to become aware of our own responses emotionally, psychologically and relationally to the concept of race, by using ourselves as
  • the tool;
  • how to slow down, get curious and take action by looking inwards to better bridge the gap on diversity, equity and inclusion.
