Chris Weatherman, also known A. American, or Angery American, (not a typo) is the author of twenty-two books, including The Survivalist Series."  His book, "Going Home" was one of the early books in the post apocalyptic genre, and it's a good read.

Chris is a life-long student of survival skills, a teacher and speaker, and an expert on survival skills. 

This is an interview with him, where we discuss getting started in solar power, and a little bit about HAM radio and it's importance in prepper communications.
