It took my breath away--most exciting read of my life?
"Noon: The Rise to Power" took my breath away--I am still reeling from it and asking myself, "Could this book be the most brilliant and exciting read of my literary life?" Exaggeration or not, one thing for sure, there was never a dull moment, and now I can't wait to read the next book in the series. (It's made to order for a sci-fi--political action movie.) I would have never dreamed I'd fall in love with a story like this, but I am here to tell you I did. This is a hard hitting story (something I'd stay away from normally) but at the same time I found it engulfing--compelling and heart rendering. The characters are powerful, distinct, and totally unforgettable. I suspect they will be seared into my memory forever, as will the plot. Congratulations to the author for this superbly crafted fiction.

Noon: the rise to power, was the first of Richards novels that I read and I've been hooked ever since.
This fast paced novel, that reads like an Episode of 24, will keep you up until the wee hours as you take a journey into the not so distant future where the country has fallen into ruin. The powers that be (the one percenters) control everything, drugs gangs and violence are rampant and the time has come for someone to take a stand. Will that man be Dr. Noon, a former child prodigy who has contributed so much the the well being of mankind. Will he take a stand? Are his ragtag group of supporters up for the challenges they will face, and most importantly, are Noon's intentions pure?
You'll have to read to find out; but, do so quickly, because I hear a sequel is in the works.
Perfect summer blockbuster in novel format
This is not your run-of-the-mill apocalypse.
No plaguey rats, no nuclear winter, no meteors demolishing everything we know and love on earth.
No, THIS apocalypse is so much more familiar, and consequently much more affecting: corporate rule, most average people toiling in debt slavery, and drug wars out in the streets.
Into this desolate landscape of the soul comes Dr. Alexander Noon, a brilliant scientist who soon reveals himself to be a ruthless political warrior, and deliver the masses from the evil Powers That Be. Noon is the *anti*-savior, no turning the other cheek for this guy. With his motley crew of supporters he mounts an ingenious and bloody campaign to save the world... NOON style!
This is a long book but it is such a quick read. Zackary Richards is very good at ratcheting up the tension and crafting compelling cliffhangers that just force you to read one more page...
