    Send us Fan Mail

This week's edition of Ghana in Focus explains why Ghana was ONLY truly independent for 6 years, 1960 - 1966

We explain what Ghana then Gold Coast was and why Kwame Nkrumah planned on making Ghana a republic and truly an independent nation.

We then detail when Ghana truly became independent and what it tired to do during this period of true independence.

We end by stating when Ghana ceased to be an independent nation and that the reality facing Ghana today is NOT independence but dependence.

  • Afrika in Focus Special: Nigeria Elections, Matters Arising

    Send us Fan Mail

This week's edition of Afrika in Focus looks at the forthcoming general elections in Nigeria.

We begin by explaining that the state that is called Nigeria was forcibly put together by the wickedly wicked British for the political, socio-economic benefit of the British Empire.

We also explain that before British Imperialism the state that is called Nigeria consisted of Kingdoms and Empires such as Hausaland, Oyo, Igbo and Yoruba.

We state how Nigeria got its name and maintain the view that the state that is called Nigeria was NEVER designed to uplift the masses of the people but to further the interests of British imperialism.

In regards the election, we articulate that regardless of who wins it , unless there is a total sea change in the way the country is governed and the constitution scrapped,  NOTHING will change as the country grapples with the Boko Haram menace, high unemployment, electricity challenges and dire economic conditions.

We end by stating that the best way forward for the country would be the total break up of the fake state called the federal republic of Nigeria and the re assertion of the nation states that were great in their own right before the advent of British imperialism

  • Ghana in Focus Special: Dark Days in Ghana - Why 2023 and beyond will be difficult for Ghana.

    Send us Fan Mail

This week's edition of Ghana in Focus is a special as we highlight the difficult years that the country will be facing because of the damaging economic circumstances Ghana finds itself in .

We explain the reasons why Ghana is in the dire financial meltdown it finds itself in which has led it to go cap in hand to the IMF to get some sort of bailout.

We also explain that one of the conditions of the IMF for Ghana getting this paltry US$3 Billion is the Debt Restructuring Programme .

We explain how this so called Debt Restructuring Programme is flawed and some of the devastating consequences of this programme.

We delve into the fact that Ghana owes external agencies i.e. The IMF, the EU, US, China etc billions of USD and stands to default on some of its external debt.  We also mention some of the dire consequences of Ghana defaulting its external creditors.

We end by stating why the so called Debt Restructuring Programme should be scrapped and the alternatives that the Government of Ghana can do to create internally generated revenue including cutting its expenditure to get Ghana out of the economic quagmire it is facing leading to Dark Days in Ghana for the vast majority of its citizens.

  • Ghana in Focus Special: 30 years of democracy in Ghana - Matters arising

    Send us Fan Mail

This week's edition of Ghana in Focus looks at the milestone of 30 years of democratic dispensation in Ghana asking the question success or sham.

We take a brief look into the circumstances that led to the birth of the 4th republic in January 1993 citing the instability Ghana suffered in the post Nkrumah years.

We then look into why and how 'democracy' was re introduced into Ghana in 1993 following the first multi party elections in 1992 that ushered in the 4th republic citing key individuals.

Next we make a critical comparison between Ghana and Rwanda , both with different circumstances and systems of governance to analyse their success and failures.

We end by stating that the 'western' system of so called multi party democracy has failed and has yielded very little dividends for the vast majority of Ghanaians who continue to see their quality of life evaporated.  Indeed we conclude that Ghana has retrogressed!!

In short Ghana needs a system of governance for the people by the people that is in the collective interests of Ghanaians and not a system that benefits a small political elite who loot state resources for the benefit of themselves, their families and their cronies.

We recommend that the constitution be scrapped and a new one enshrined as the current constitution is deeply flawed with power concentrated in the hands of a few.

  • Africa in Focus - The Life and Legacy of Pele, the GREATEST Footballer EVER!!

    Send us Fan Mail

This week's edition of Afrika in Focus is a special looking at the life and legacy of Pele.

We start by giving a backdrop into the conditions for African people in Brazil when Pele , real name Edson Arantes do Nascimento was born including a form of Apartheid that still exists in Brazil today making the quality of life for African people very difficult indeed.

We give a take on how Pele's natural genius and flair for football attracted the best team in Brazil Santos to sign him at the tender age of 15 years.

We explain how Pele's outrageous talent helped Santos become a dominant force in Brazilian football and how the Brazilian National Team became attracted to Pele.

We explain how Pele became an instant hit with The Brazil national team, when he scored his first goal for Brazil at the tender age of 16 in a friendly match.  Aside from this the Brazil national management soon realised that Pele was a gem.  This realisation made them include Pele in the 1958 Brazil world cup squad.

It was the 1958 World cup in Sweden that catapulted Pele into a global phenomenon.  Pele's brilliant performances as a mere 17 year old including a hat-trick in the semi final against France and a brace (two goals) in the final against the host nation ensured that Brazil went on to win their first EVER World Cup.

We discuss how Pele cemented his legendary status by helping Brazil win a second consecutive World Cup in 1962 and helping his club team Santos to world domination.

In 1966 Pele's bid for a third successive World Cup ended in disappointment as he was literally kicked out of the World cup as a result of ferocious tackles on him (as it was the only way to stop him playing).

This bitter disappointment then made Pele to reflect on whether he wanted to continue to play football, given the harsh treatment he suffered at the 1966 World Cup.

We analyse perhaps Pele's greatest moment as a player, his third World Cup victory as part of the all conquering Brazil team of 1970, considered by many to be the greatest football team ever assembled.

Pele's feat in 1970 by helping Brazil win their 3rd World Cup, which made Brazil keep the Jules Rimet trophy forever, included some outrageous and mesmerizing skills including trying to lob the goal keeper from 50 yards and dummying a keeper before shooting wide.

We then discuss Pele after 1970 where he was invited to help launch football in the United States by joining the New York Cosmos.  In fact Pele was a huge success in the US that he single handedly revolutionised the sport in the US and we see today the legacy of this by the huge attendances in the Major Soccer League and the tremendous growth of Women's football.

In terms of Legacy all the greats from Bobby Charlton, to Franz Beckenbauer, to Jose Mourinho to Bobby Moore to Johan Cruyff ALL state that Pele is THE KING of football and to emphasise this FIFA, the sports governing body made a powerful documentary on Pele in celebration of his 80th birthday in 2020.

Again all the skills that you see today in football, Pele did them first!

  • Afrika in Focus Special: The Life and Legacy of the Great Patrice Lumumba

    Send us Fan Mail

This week's episode of Afrika in Focus look at the life and legacy of the Great Patrice Lumumba.

17 January is the 62nd year of the assassination that is often referred to in Pan African circles as the greatest assassination of the 20th century and along with the removal of Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana was the assassination that damaged the soul of Africa.

We give an insight into .how the Congo became an important part of the Afrikan real estate in the aftermath of the Congress of Berlin in 1884/1885  when the Congo was 'given' to the wicked King Leopold II and then subsequently, the Belgian State.

We explain how important the Congo is to the World Economic Order stating that The Congo has more than US$24,000,000,000,000 (24 Trillion USD) in untapped mineral reserves and is responsible for the electric cars, LED TV, LED Fridge, LED lights, Laptops, I-phones, Smartphones and the like.

We explain the vicious brutality that the Congolese people went through as a result of the tyranny and terrorism of King Léopold II and the Belgian State.

It is said that King Leopold II was responsible for the deaths of more than 10 Million Congolese people.

We  also explain how this brutality led to the rise and emergence of nationalist movements of which Patrice Lumumba became prominent.

We also explain the circumstances that led to Lumumba becoming the first Prime Minister of the Congo and how his Pan African and Nationalist credentials posed a serious threat to US and Western geo-political economic interests.

We inform how the West , the United States in particular, hatched a plan to eliminate Lumumba and how this has contributed to the instability the DR Congo suffers from today.

Lumumba was viciously murdered along with two of his trusted ministers,  Joseph Okito and Maurice Mpolo.

We end by stating the tragedy of the Lumumba assassination has had on the fortunes of the Congo.
