Judge Alison Nathan ultimately declined to impose the sweeping gag order Maxwell requested, emphasizing the importance of open judicial proceedings and finding that normal court safeguards—such as careful jury selection and instructions—were sufficient to protect Maxwell’s rights while maintaining public accountability.
