ANOVOS announced the Spengler Legacy Pack, IDW is on fire, Bobby's Toy Chest finished their Real Ghostbusters restoration, and Chris read the Ghostbusters novelization - just a couple things happened during the holiday hiatus. Join us as we catch up on it all and discover what happens when a good movie is turned into a not-so-good novelization on this week's Crossrip!
Troy's giving Mix Master Chris a break and attempting his hand at a little compilation for all of your holiday listening pleasure. Join us to celebrate the holidays and the New Year. We'll be taking a short break for the weeks of December 25th and January 1st, but we'll catch you on the flip side of the holidays! So be good, for goodness sake, whoaaaaaaa, somebody's coming. Somebody's coming. Somebody's coming to town.
It's that time of the year again, need gift ideas for the Ghostbusters fan in your life? The Ghostbusters Shopping Network has got you covered! Chris has his annual wrap-up of items that any and all Ghostbusters fan should have under the tree this Christmas season - and this year, the good folks at Ghost Corps have teamed up with the Crossrip to offer a few of those items as a give-away for free! Listen to the show for information on how to win a few collectable items!
One of the most prolific voice actors of all-time, Maurice LaMarche joins the Crossrip this week! Chris caught up with the voice of Dr. Egon Spengler from The Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters (and, as it turns out, a surprising other voice revealed in the show) at Fan Expo Vancouver. LaMarche talks about his early years in the entertainment industry, being a Ghostbuster, and a whole lot more. In addition, we've added some outtakes and archival audio, making this a holiday mix tape of sorts, all about the voice of Egon, stunt burper, master impressionist, and the best Orsen Welles since Orsen Welles.
Look out, TV Hall of Fame, here come the original Not Ready for Prime Time Players. After a quick update on the latest news including Blitzway's Ecto-1 going up for pre-order and Paul Feig's latest comments about the 2016 film, join us to celebrate Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtain, Loraine Newman, Chevy Chase and Garrett Morris as they were inducted into the TV Hall of Fame this past week. Surprisingly, Bill Murray was also on-hand for the celebration and had a few very sentimental words to say.
Signs, signs, everywhere there's signs. And Ghostbusters is one of the most recognized (which should come as no surprise to our listeners). Stay with Troy and Chris for the week as they chat about TMNT/GB Issue #3 (no spoilers), Blitzway's announcement about pricing plans for their 1/6 scale Ghostbusters figures, and remembering the Universal Ghostbusters Spooktacular on the anniversary of its final performance. Could a stage show like it exist in this cynical age? Or is a game-based ride the only way that Ghostbusters can exist in a theme park. We're also announcing the Loot Crate winner at the end of the show. And... so, uh, which one of our listeners is currently incarcerated at the Hall County Jail?
Okay, NOW we'll talk about Stranger Things Season Two... hopefully everyone's had a chance to watch by now? But first, a few news items that the two knobs weren't able to get to last week including some broad non-spoiler chat about TMNT/Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters making Cinefex Magazine's top monster movie list, and a strange article about an Ecto-1 for sale across the pond. Then, in the second half of the show, Chris and Troy talk about all the Ghostbusters references (and if indeed those patches were available for sale in 1984), the show in general, and what the future may hold for Season Three.
This week on the show, Chris and Troy focus on two discussion topics: Aykroyd's comments on Ghostbusters in high school for Netflix and Anovos announcing a new high-end pack replica. Both announcements elicited equally similar responses, and both aspects of the response are discussed this week on the show. Has Akyroyd lost his mind, or are his outlandish ideas responsible for the property we know and love? Is Anovos in the wrong for announcing a pack replica right on the heels of shipping another kit, or is this something totally different? Tune in for the discussion.
This week on the show, sneakers, comics, and Stranger Things! First up, an update on Ghostbusters Answer the Call #1 from IDW Comics, then Bill Murray is EVERYWHERE and we have tons of great audio to prove it, then stick around for a whole lot of Stranger Things and Ghostbusters discussion including chat about the Reebok sneaker release event, the crossover of Ghostbusters and Stranger Things and a whole lot more!
It's that time of the year again, Mix Master Chris Stewart returns with another mix tape to entertain, frighten, and chill you to the bone... enjoy the sounds of Halloween, a few special guest surprises, and a whole lot more on this year's Spooktacular episode!
