Kenner is re-releasing the Ecto-1, Fearsome Flush and Bug-Eye AND we're diving into our second Dic Peeks commentary on another Real Ghostbusters classic: Play Them Ragtime Boos. It's a jam-packed episode so let's just get into it: up for preorder this Monday, March 15th are three new retro Kenner Real Ghostbusters toys from Hasbro. One of which, the Ecto-1 is sure to be not just a crowd-pleaser, but an extremely welcome surprise to Troy and Chris. Then, in the second half of the show, join us for another Dic Peeks commentary on "Play Them Ragtime Boos" - an episode that remains a nostalgic favorite, but what flaws may we have overlooked over the years?
This week on the show, we're continuing our Eaglemoss Hero Collector Ecto-1 build with Issue 9, Stage 27! And it proves to be a little tricky for Troy and Chris. But before we do anything, we have a special letter (and important correction) from Don Shay of Cinefex magazine in response to last week's episode.
This week on the show, we’re honoring Cinefex Magazine which is ceasing publication after 40 years due to the pandemic. The special and visual effects journal that documented the creation of all our favorite films headed by Don Shay, Jody Duncan and Gregg Shay has been observing since Star Trek the Motion Picture and chronicled the making of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II. Chris and Troy recall their introductions to the magazine, some of their favorite moments, and even do a little online shopping for their favorite back issues while they chat.
This week on the show, Ghostbusters Afterlife has a rating! What does it mean for the content therein? Well, not much outside of what we’ve already known about the film. The boys will talk about their thoughts, plus Finn Wolfhard’s comments at the Toronto International Film Festival about the film. All that plus some merchandise news and a whole lot of Columbo talk await you!
This week on the show, we’re building stages 25 and 26 of the Hero Collector Ecto-1 subscription kit by Eaglemoss. And while we do, we’re talking about the latest goings on in Ghostbusters-land including Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters airing on the official Ghostbusters YouTube channel and more. Join us in the audio podcast, or make sure to subscribe to the Crossrip YouTube channel to be the first to see a quad-top down view of our build in real time, and make sure to start your subscription with Hero Collector to build along with us!
This week, we're taking a look at Hasbro's outstanding retro Kenner Ghostpopper toy, the Playskool Heroes Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, and a reissue of the Transformers Ectotron with an all-new Ghostbusters Afterlife theme! But before we do that, some news including Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters episodes hitting the official Ghostbusters YouTube channel, and a few merchandise offerings from the cool kids at Loungefly and Middle of Beyond. Our thanks to Hasbro for sending product along to unbox, pick-up the Kenner Ghostpopper at Walmart, Ectrotron at Target, and Stay-Puft at a retailer near you now!
Join the gents for a new segment of the show "Unsolicited Dic Peeks": a commentary and in-depth dive on Real Ghostbusters episodes and get the latest in Ghostbusters news in this week's Interdimensional Crossrip! First up in the news, Ghostbusters Afterlife's release has moved to November, we remember Larry King, and some comments on Ernie Hudson's "no comments." Then in the second half of the show, join us for a full commentary on a classic Real Ghostbusters episode, "Knock, Knock." How is it a quintessential Ghostbusters story? How does it act as a pilot for the animated show (yet aired in the second season)? All that and more explored in our discussion. Cue up the episode on your home entertainment platform of choice and follow along with us!
This week on the show we're talking about Empire Magazine's first look at Ghostbusters Afterlife (now delayed to release November 11, 2021). And while we do, we're building up our amazing Eaglemoss Hero Collector die-cast Ecto-1 subscription. Join us as we work through stages 23 and 24, while also talking Ghostbusters stuff and any other pop culture things that come to mind!
As we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. in the States, it’s a bit of a slow news week again (at least when it comes to Ghostbusters). But Troy and Chris press forward. And, as it turns out, not having much to talk about turns into quite a bit of discussion. What do some of the most recent movie studio release date shuffles mean for Ghostbusters Afterlife? What does the absence of IDW Comics’ Ghostbusters titles on some digital platforms mean for the future of the line? And how is Larry King lately? All of these topics and a whole lot more discussed on the podcast this week.
We’re starting off our seventh year of podcasting by looking forward to all that’s to come in 2021! From Ghostbusters Afterlife’s release to potential book releases, fast food tie-ins, music, the upcoming sequel to “Cleanin’ Up the Town” and a whole lot more, there’s quite a bit to be optimistic about in this new year. Join Troy and Chris as they count down each of their five most anticipated Ghostbusters things in store for us this year, then make sure to drop us a line to let us know what you’re looking forward to yourself!
