In this episode, I speak with two incredible humans who are the colleagues at La Terza Coffee and the co-hosts of the The Third Place Podcast. David Gaines is the CEO and Chief Visionary for La Terza Coffee, a full-service coffee resource that provides the highest quality coffee to consumers, and equipment as well as education for restaurants and coffee shops. People come to La Terza to open a shop and have a passion for community, but encouraging people to gather around for a drink and stay for a healthy conversation can be a difficult business model. This was the catalyst for why David want to launch the Third Place Podcast, a way to explore the grey space where deeper connections are fostered.
Mary Allard has a degree in contemplative Psychology of Health & Healing, trained in authentic leadership styles. In addition to being the co-host of their podcast, she is the Business Development Director for La Terza Coffee, Founder of Five Element LLC, mentor for The Eating Disorder Foundation, and most recently, co-founder of the ELLEment movement, a platform designed to equip young females with their ability to identify, embrace, and articulate their unique experience in the world.
We explore the grey space of dating i.e. the DTR conversation and how to avoid situationships, as well as how to best prepare for a difficult conversation or confrontation, and how to best break-up with someone. You can find them on IG here @thirdplacepodcast.

In this episode, I speak with Katie Derhousoff who runs the amazing Instagram page Cross Out Toxicity, a page all about strengthening relationship with self in order to maintain healthy relationships with others. We do this by normalizing discussions around sex, bodies, and practicing better communication skills. She became really passionate about all things sexual wellness, especially the importance of realistic and honest sex education for young people. She launched Cross out Toxicity 3 months ago and for now, it is just a relatable page on Instagram.
Once she's certified in the fall for sex and intimacy counseling, she will be offering individual and couples coaching and workshops. She's new to the game, but the great thing about the sex community (in terms of business) uplift takes over competition. The more people that talk about normalizing bodies and sex, the better!
