After a long visit with Tessa, Herbie finally discovers what to do about Yvette.
Herbie is finally face to face with Yvette. Will he face his fears and conquer them, or will something more unexpected happen? Herbie's notions of the afterlife will be challenged in a way he hadn't suspected.
Herbie finally confronts Jack to get some answers about who Yvette Lafayette is–or was. At a local tavern he finds Jack with Yvette's picture.
But something is waiting for Herbie back at the theatre. Something that will hopefully answer all of his questions.
In Chapter Two of the Ghosts of the Royal Alex, Herbie McGill tracks down Jack, and arranges to meet him at a downmarket pub. Before he goes, he has a run-in with Yvette Lafayette! Herbie is finding it much harder to convince himself that this is all just a ghost story.
In Chapter Two of the Ghosts of the Royal Alex, Herbie, the theatre manager, must decide whether to enter dressing room 13, enticed there by the pitiful voice of a woman who identifies herself as Yvette. What he finds when he unlocks the door will lead him into an odyssey of self-discovery and challenge his lack of belief in the spiritual world.
Herbie McGill runs the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto, Canada. The competition from movies, TV, and the newly built O'Keefe Centre has left the Alex with only fifteen weeks of shows in 1959.
When Herbie hears that the stage doorman has seen a ghost at the theatre, he tries to keep it quiet. He doesn't need another reason for people not to come to the theatre. But is it just a crazy ghost story, or did Jack actually see a ghost at the theatre? Herbie is about to find out.
