In this "Giant Mess", New York Giants fan Neal Lynch recaps one of the worst blowout losses in Big Blue's franchise history, a 40-0 shellacking delivered by the Dallas Cowboys at cursed MetLife Stadium. Neal then reveals where this historic defeat ranks amongst the worst blowout losses.
The Giants have lost 5 in a row and 12 of their last 13 games to Dallas.

*The Giants are 4-10 in home openers at MetLife.

*The Giants are 1-10 vs. Dallas in season openers, including 0-3 at home and 0-2 in MetLife.

The Giants did it all in one game.
The Giants' 171 total yards was their lowest total since they gained 155 yards at Chicago on Jan. 2, 2022.

The Giants' 63 net passing yards was their lowest figure since they finished with minus-6 in that loss to the Bears two seasons ago.

Giants offensive line allowed 7 sacks and 12 quarterback hits, 20 pressures and 23 hurries

Daniel Jones was pressured on 66.7% of his dropbacks which was the most in the NFL, 13.6% more than any other QB.

The Giants suffered the most one-sided opening day loss in their history, overtaking another home loss to the Cowboys. On Sept. 4, 1995, they fell to Dallas in Giants Stadium, 35-0.

The 40-point defeat was the Giants' largest in the regular season since Nov. 4, 1973, when they lost to the Raiders in Oakland, 42-0. They lost an NFC divisional playoff game on Jan. 5, 1994, in San Francisco, 44-3.

The Cowboys' 40 points were the most allowed by the Giants in their season opener since a 42-40 victory at Green Bay on Sept. 19, 1971.

The Giants' halftime deficit was 26-0, their largest in a regular season game since Jan. 3, 2010, when they trailed in Minnesota at the half, 31-0.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the last time Giants opponents scored two non-offensive touchdowns to start a season was 1944.
