Drew and Rob are back with another episode of 2 Giants Goofballs, breaking down the latest New York Giants news, free agency moves, and rumors swirling around the quarterback position. The Giants have been busy making roster moves, starting with the signing of offensive tackle Stone Forsythe. The 6’8”, 307-pound tackle comes over from the Seahawks, where he played in nine games last season with five starts. However, his Pro Football Focus grades leave a lot to be desired, ranking near the bottom of all qualified linemen. Will the Giants coaching staff be able to get more out of him?
The Giants also bring back a couple of familiar faces on the offensive line. Aaron Stinnie re-signs on a one-year deal after playing all 16 games last season, starting three. While his PFF grades were underwhelming, the team clearly values his depth. Meanwhile, Greg Van Roten, who started all 17 games last season, returns with a 63.4 PFF grade, solidifying the interior offensive line.
On the defensive side, the Giants add depth to the trenches by signing veteran defensive tackle Jeremiah Ledbetter. The former Jaguar had a productive season in 2024, playing 15 games with three starts, recording 38 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and two sacks. His PFF grades show a solid run defender, but his pass rush needs improvement.
In a move that stings for Giants fans, longtime cornerback Adoree’ Jackson has signed a one-year deal with the rival Philadelphia Eagles. Jackson played in 14 games last season, recording 28 tackles, five pass deflections, and one forced fumble. His coverage grades were solid, but he was especially dominant in run defense, earning an 85.8 grade from PFF. How will the Giants replace him in the secondary, and will this loss come back to haunt them when they face the Eagles?
The biggest question surrounding the Giants remains at the quarterback position. The team has been linked to multiple veteran signal-callers as they explore their options. Joe Flacco visited the Giants on Thursday, while Russell Wilson made a trip to New York on Friday after visiting Cleveland. Meanwhile, the team is reportedly growing tired of waiting for Aaron Rodgers to decide on his future, though they haven’t moved on just yet. There’s also a rumor that the Vikings could be in the mix for Rodgers, adding another wrinkle to the saga.
Drew and Rob break down all these moves, what they mean for the Giants’ future, and what fans can expect in the coming weeks. Don’t miss this jam-packed episode of 2 Giants Goofballs, where they dive into all the latest Giants news, rumors, and analysis!
