Hi  everybody welcome to GIG I'm your host, Mike Redman. I grew up in the days when rock bands ruled the world and I lived in the South in Richmond, Virginia. One of my favorite Southern Rock bands was '38 Special'.

Still to this day they're one of the hardest working rock bands in the country playing about 100 dates the drummer in the band is powerhouse Gary Moffat,  and I'm happy to say a  longtime friend of mine. When Garry plays, you can tell that he puts every fiber of his body into it.

Today I'm happy to have Gary on GIG to share his thoughts about drumming, touring, soloing, and his family '38 Special'.

With a career spanning several decades, Gwen has shaped sound landscapes for some of the biggest blockbuster films of our generation like "Avatar" and "Top Gun,” 

Gwen's  career is not just marked by her association with cinematic blockbusters or the 5 Academy Awards she probably has sitting on the fireplace in her living room. It’s the relationships that she’s has created along the way with her team which she refers to as   ‘Family’ …   that's what is most important to her.

I am often asked ‘how do I get into movies’ … It’s an interesting and complex question and there’s no easy answer, BUT today I talk with award winning Casting Director, Cami Patton who will give you some insight.  If you want to be in the entertainment industry and ‘On Screen’ you’ll  need to win over the casting director who happens to be the first person usually hired on when a project is green lit.

Cami is fun, smart, and obviously very good at what she does for a living and has cast such hit shows as Justified, Silo, Pushing Daisies, The Americans and over 100 other shows. This is a must listen for anyone in the film industry …  So, let’s get started.

Two of my favorite shows on TV are Justified, and Sneaky Pete so I can’t tell you how excited I am to interview  Director Michael Dinner on GIG.

There’s more to directing than getting to yell … action , or cut.

If you look Michael dinner up on IMDB you’ll see that his credits cover the entire range of entertainment from Grey’s anatomy, to  Masters of Sex,  and  Law and Order to Blacklist.

I think this is an important episode for those of you that want a career in film and TV or just want to understand what the heck the director does.  

Michael Dinner is laid back, so this isn’t an episode you’ll want to listen to while doing your morning jog. He is also very smart, and loves what he does for a living …
