Meet Sarah Scarlata from APM. Sarah wears two hats, one as an APM Music Director and the other as a bridge between the Marketing teams and the Music. She’s also an amazing drummer who has played in the industry for many years … I believe it’s impossible to talk about music libraries without talking to the executives about the internal workings of the business.

Most musicians think that TV and Film placements are the best way to make money in the music business if you're not touring or selling merchandise. That's true but did you know that over 50% of all the music and TV in Film comes from music libraries?
This is the First Part of a 5-part series on ‘GIG with Mike Redman’ all about music libraries. We’ll explore this fascinating industry, and you’ll learn how to take advantage of this opportunity.
My first guest is Adam Taylor, president of APM, a very successful music library.

In my continuing effort to find working artists that are doing well. I turned today to Todd, Andrew, a.k.a. GODYES. Todd works tirelessly on production, and custom music, focused highly on music that is used in TV like theme songs for Fox and NBC.
Todd's one of those guys that laughs easily and often. I like that. For the past few years he's been working with CURRENTMUSIC that represents his music for media. We had a great talk and covered everything from inspiration to the very important concept of multiple revenue streams for musicians. Something that you know I am passionate about. .

Hi everybody, welcome to GIG I’m your host Mike Redman. I've been advised to ask you to subscribe, follow, and like this podcast so that I can reach as many artists as possible, so please take a second and do that, you’ll be joining the ranks of the awesome people.
Something I hear over and over in my interviews is ‘You can do it’, as long as you're willing to work hard. I don't think you'll find many artists that work harder than Matthew and Liz who together make up the band SIKORA.
Our interview was both enlightening and just plain wonderful. You see Matthew and Liz are partners in business in the band and in life. They've made some very smart decisions in their career which has led them to having financial security as well as artistic freedom.
I think you'll really enjoy this interview it's just so nice to see a band that's doing so well, has no ego issues, and love each other as much as they love music.

The ratio of successful female composers to male composers is approximately four to one. I'm not sure why that is because if you listen to the music that they create Trailers,Straight ahead film scores, action, drama, you name it the only difference is creativity and style … which is not gender specific.
AND if a score requires great sensitivity, female composers at least in my opinion win hands-down.
Elena Maro is an extraordinary composer and her energy and dedication should be an inspiration to anyone considering this field of work and a career as a Music Composer.
Interestingly enough, Elena Maro is also married Marco Antonini another rising star composer on the Hollywood music scene. This was a delightful interview and as always, there are some great takeaways.
