Scoring Engineer Damon Tedesco an amazing guy with skills, and lots of experience. You’ve heard his work on such films as the new Beauty and the Beast, Prey, Violent night, Godzilla and over 130 features.
When you watch a film do you ever think about where they record the music and how does it? Probably not. It’s nothing like going into the recording studio in Nashville !
Damon typically works at either the Warner, or Fox sound stages and he’s going to tell you all about what he does.

Today my guest on GIG is Dave Gross, whom I've known for many years, going back to when he was the keyboardist in one of my favorite bands, the Malones.
Dave lives in Seattle, Washington, and for the past 20 years, has worked at Microsoft as a Composer AND as an Audio Post/Mix Engineer. He is the past president of the Pacific Northwest Recording Academy and most recently took a job as the Senior Music Editor and Mixer at the game company 'Bungie' in Seattle.
Beyond all the work-related stuff you'll hear today, Dave is an extraordinary human being whom I'm proud to know.

Today it's my privilege to welcome Executive Producer and Writer Graham Yost to the show.
Graham has won 10 Emmys and had 17 nominations so far in his career. He's well known in the industry as the writer of "Speed" with Keanu Reeves and as the executive producer of shows like "Sneaky Pete," "Slow Horses," "From the Earth to the Moon," "The Americans," and one of my favorites... "Justified." He's currently wrapping "Justified: City Prime Evil, Masters of the Air and Wool" for Apple TV.
I'm so happy to get the chance to talk with Graham today. Not only is he smart, but he's experienced and very funny too!

Today we welcome a very special guest on GIG, veteran music supervisor Kevin Edelman. Kevin has an impressive resume, having worked on thousands of TV episodes and films, including big-name titles such as John Wick, Criminal Minds, The Terminal List & most recently The 90’s show.
I couldn't be more excited to have Kevin share what it's like to be a music supervisor, the intricacies of the job, and how to get your music into a show. If you're an aspiring musician or simply someone who loves film and music, this is an episode you won't want to miss.

Today my guest is the legendary stunt performer Rick Avery.
Stunt performers are the people that crash cars, take hits, get shot, fall off buildings, and get set on fire… but you never know who they really are. They add excitement and drama to a show and stand in for actors and actresses, so they don’t get hurt. They are incredibly trained and meticulous when it comes to everyone’s safety.
Rick Avery has been a stunt performer in over 700 films, including “Get Shorty,” “Animal Kingdom,” “AntMan,” “American Sniper,” “The Intern,” and the list goes on and on.
I recently had the pleasure of talking with Rick. But, I also had the preconception that someone like him would have to be tough to be in this line of work for so long. For me, this was another example of incorrectly prejudging people (try to learn this lesson early on if you can.)
Rick has proven to be one of the most talented, charming, and open people I’ve ever met in the business.

Steve Porcaro has done it all. He’s had a rich life as one of the founders of TOTO, an acclaimed synthesis, TV composer, and songwriter. Steve’s passion for the music business shines through as he gives some great advice about navigating the industry.
In this episode of GIG with Mike Redman, I sit down with Steve Porcaro. Steve is a founding member of Toto, a songwriter, session musician, TV composer, and, well …. an incredibly talented musician.
If you’ve heard “Africa” or “Rosanna” by Toto, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” or watched one of my favorite shows “Justified,” you’ve heard Steve Porcaro at work!
Steve’s also played or programmed hundreds of hit tracks and won three Grammys… not to mention he’s a guy with a big heart that I’m happy to call a friend.
