Until recently, giraffes were considered all one species. But new research shows there are actually four species—and they’re as genetically distinct as polar and grizzly bears. When this became news, headlines proclaimed it as evidence of evolution. But is giraffes turning into giraffes really evolution?
Not at all. You see, God created the giraffe kind with an incredible amount of variety. This helps giraffes survive a changing environment. That’s why we find some members of the giraffe kind on the savannah, while the okapi, another member of that kind, hides in the forest.
