    यह वीडियो जुगाली करने वाले जानवरों (गाय, भैंस, भेड़, बकरी) की डकार के मिथेन उत्सर्जन से जुड़ा है। यह उत्सर्जन ग्रीनहाउस गैस के रूप में धरती के लिए खतरनाक होता है। वीडियो में बताया जाता है कि कुछ देशों के वैज्ञानिक इन जानवरों की डकार कम करने के लिए काम कर रहे हैं। इस संदेश के साथ वीडियो में बताया जाता है कि गाय साल भर में केवल डकार के कारण 80 से 120 किलो मिथेन गैस निकालती है, जो कोई एक कार साल भर में इतना ही प्रदूषण उत्सर्जित करती है। वीडियो में यह भी बताया जाता है कि मिथेन गैस बनाना पशु के पेट में आवश्यक होता है।

    ब्रिटिश कंपनी क्यूएस बाथरूम सप्लाईज की 2021 की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक पब्लिक टॉयलेट्स की संख्या आइसलैंड में सबसे ज्यादा है। वहां प्रति एक लाख की आबादी पर 56 पब्लिक टॉयलेट हैं। इस रिपोर्ट में भारत का डेटा शामिल नहीं है।


    अमेरिकी शहरों की बात करें तो ये अनुपात और भी कम होता जाता है। न्यूयॉर्क में प्रति एक लाख आबादी पर सिर्फ 4 पब्लिक टॉयलेट हैं। विस्कॉन्सिन के मैडिसन सिटी में सबसे ज्यादा प्रति एक लाख आबादी पर 35 पब्लिक टॉयलेट हैं।


    सैन फ्रांसिस्को में समस्या इतनी बढ़ गई थी कि स्कूल जाने वाले बच्चों ने सिटी एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन से शिकायत की। उनकी शिकायत थी कि उन्हें सुबह-सुबह खुले में पड़े शौच के बीच से स्कूल जाना पड़ता है।


    सैन फ्रांसिस्को पब्लिक वर्क्स में पॉलिसी एंड कम्युनिकेशन डायरेक्टर रेचल गॉर्डन कहती हैं कि इसी के बाद पिट स्टॉप प्रोग्राम 2014 में शुरू किया गया। शुरुआत 3 पब्लिक टॉयलेट्स से हुई थी आज शहर में 33 सार्वजनिक शौचालय हैं। पैनडेमिक के समय होमलेस शेल्टर्स बंद होने के बाद ये संख्या बढ़कर 60 हो गई थी, लेकिन अब अस्थायी टॉयलेट्स को हटा दिया गया है।
